@@Randomfactsforyou12 Simple advice: dont show them tricks anymore. If they want you to fail, they arent interested in seeing magic, you shouldnt force your magic on them. Alternatively, if they are close friends, you can just take a different approach. Instead of "Let me show you a magic trick." Say "May I show you something that I am working on / that I have been practicing?" Many people want to figure out the tricks, thats just human, but if you dont present it in a "look what I can do" but instead in a "I worked hard on this, do you like it?" way, they will be much nicer an dont try to heckle you.

what i also like is that you perform the trick in real life to random people ... and then show the tutorial ... its something else ... not like most youtubers do it by performing the trick for themself on camera !!! You should have more followers ...... i just looked at your performance like 3 times to see exactly how you do it ... perfect ... 70 % of the trick its in your charm ... the way you talk ... great performer ... thumbs up !!!

I sat on this for a year. I watched this periodically over and over again. I practiced and still wasn't doing it justice. (I was thinking to much and it didn't look natural to me.) I could do the effect. But it was stagnant. I had to get rid of those little pauses and speed bumbs. (That came from thinking about what comes next while at the same time talking all at once.) Once I got my mouth to do one thing and my hands another. I had reached my goal! Like Spidey said, "Make it second nature where you don't have to think about it." Now this too has become one of the go to Impromptu effects I do! Thanks Spidey for sharing such a wonderful effect.

SpideyHypnosis i have a question. What if, when you reveal the card it isn’t theirs (because they are that family member who tries to make you look bad and they changed the card that was in their mind mid trick)? How would you deal with them? I think we need a tutorial for that.
@SpideyHypnosis
@SpideyHypnosis 4 года назад
Agjelos Gjana thats just poor audience management. What if they do that for any other trick? What if they throw your deck of cards on the floor? The thing we have to realize about magic is we are sharing our passion with people. If the person is a complete a$$hole who wants to ruin the magic, then don’t do magic for them. Do it for someone else who isn’t a di€k

@KinnereyB
@KinnereyB 4 года назад
SpideyHypnosis I like it better too (9 really isn’t necessary now that u mention it)! You perform it REALLY well too! That’s the whole key to this effect getting that reaction. Performance is so overlooked today with everyone trying to out color or invent the newest flourish. At the end of the day magic is a PERFORMANCE ART, and you really do a wonderful job on every piece! Also. I’m glad someone shared this gem on RU-vid.That whole series has a lot of gems to be honest - Keep up the great work brother!

I gave my friend a deck of cards, then made them shuffle it. Then I asked him to think of a card (they still had the deck in their hand) after that I made him choose a number between 1 and 52. He chose a number so I told him to start counting from the top of the deck until he reached his number (cards face down, also the deck was still on his hand). He counted the cards and when he reached the number I told him to reveal the card. It was his chosen card. His expression of pure disbelief was awesome, same as mine because it was just pure luck.

Yeah this is a solid effect that you wisely performed without any theatrics or bullsh*t psychological "explanations". I use a slightly different method that relies on the same principles. I'm also careful to manipulate their memory of events by asking, "You mixed the deck yourself and could have thought of any card in it, right? Does everyone here agree?" (they always do) which strengthens the reveal, while causing them to forget that their choice was strictly limited to only a handful of cards, none of which you needed to know in advance. I'm not a fan of mentalism so only have like, three such effects in my whole repertoire, but this is one of them.

Nice one. I've learnt two things about card tricks: one: whenever the magician says he shuffles the deck but doesn't let the other guy shuffle it, it's not shuffled; two: magicians - and especially card magicians - have an altogether different idea of what "easy" is than the rest of us, common folks :D

What a great trick. I did the performance a few times and get great reactions. Instead of doing the double turnover I said 'I get a feeling it is not the top card and trow it aside. Then I trow I say it is not the top card of the whole stack and throw it aside. so it has to be this one. And then turn over the card in your hand.

I've done it to where when it ends up top card in my hand I just have them point to a pile and obviously flip their card. It gives you another 50/50 that they could choose the card. Either way they still feel like they had a choice in the out come. Key is to point at the pile not choose. Try it. People will flip out if they choose the hand

I have been performing this trick all over the place lately and noticed that some people try to change the card that they’re thinking of when you show them the cards and ask did you see your card? In that moment they switch their card because it is a thought of card trick and they think they can think of any card they want that will literally throw off the whole trick and ruin it. So beware of that if anyone could think of an out, let me know I carry invisible deck so there’s that. I did this on stage at a comedy show in Huntington Beach California and it went great. Thanks for the trick. I really love it.

We have a "spy" mind-reading trick we do. Typically it's done with a group of people in cafeterias, restaurants, basically anywhere where you can get a cup of coffee with a coffee cup that has a handle. I will then give a deck of cards to someone in the group and ask them to find any card in the deck they want, take it out and keep it somewhere I cannot see it. During this time I have my back turned. All of the group also see the card, including my "spy". The spy then picks up his coffee cup, takes a sip and puts the cup down in one of four places, on his far left, far right, near left or near right. This tells me the suit. He will also position the handle at an "o'clock" position to tell me the card's value, if the card's a king, he'll keep the cup in his hand. Sometimes, the handle is hard to read, so you may be one out, but you explain before-hand that you don't always get it spot on every time and sometimes it's one off, so if this does happen, it's fine.

Personally, I love the whole illusion and the excitement of acts like this. I would never pretend to know or understand what you do because I don't want to mate.... I would rather engage in the whole theatrics and enjoy the wonderful illusions that you (Magicians / Entertainers) do and give us, the audience, the excitement and memorable occasion. Wow this is Coool thanks! I do the trick, uh I mean brain communication exercise, where ya hold the entire deck in front of them and thumb through all of them super fast. If ya do it fast, ideally only one card can be seen. Ya can’t pause on one or it looks hokey. It has to be a blur. I’m holding the deck turned as far away from my sight as possible but still able to see the card faces when ya bend them back. They’re looking for a card so they can’t watch you too. Even if they can, if ya flash them fast they think they picked one when really only one could be seen. Bush league compared to this. 🤙🤙

your channel is the absolute greatest I get sucked in for hours.... have a request if possible, blaine did a trick where he never touched the deck n spectator picked card shuffled spread em face down n he stabbed the card with a knife. was in the special with Harrison Ford.

Hey gorgeous Spidesta... Going through your older vids and having my mind blown. You are such a talented man. Particularly the way you speak with your sweet S's. Such a talented magician/illusionist. Saying that all I can think of is saying "TRICK" and GOB saying "ILLUSION Michael" hahaha. You were clearly born to do this, well done for honing your craft so excellently Spidey. I wish I could see you in person... Perhaps one day you will your here in Brisbane Australia... Or Is win the Lottery and am able to visit YOU (I'd probably have to start playing the Lottery as a starter but hey with your skills you never know, maybe one day my actual cards/my distracted eyeballs will serve me well and at some point do the switcharoony! Even with the answers laid out I am still finding myself open mouthed in shock added. Don't want to say "your biggest fan" otherwise I feel I'm the psycho in the Eminem song hahaha.. so I'll just say: Aussie fan, Danielle xx

I've got the general idea of it while watching the video. Details are a bit different - I thought that you managed to put two cards somewhere in the middle of the deck, and if the girl would say "no", you would show her some more and ask again. Then it would be a choice of two cards at the end.

Looks like a very strong effect. I refuse to use gimmicks anymore, so love the idea of this... Now I just need to practice it for a year or so :)
