Hanoi takes place during the Son Tay Raid in November 1970, and it’s also where the military used the first red dot sight in history, although it didn’t appear in Black Ops.
@@xrecklessly The campaign did, but the multiplayer takes place between the years of 1961 and the 1970’s. Like Stadium, which takes place during the Election Day in 1972, if you look at the posters.
@@jamiemb17so true. The map struggles in that aspect. It’s one of those maps where you just run around and hope you run into the enemy. There’s not a lot of cover except inside the buildings, but that also encourages some people to camp since it’s not always easy to see enemies when the map can be super dark at times.
@@AscendAR I can understand that. BO4 was a weird time. My old friends were in the midst of college life and I had new friends that I started to game with more who were into the competitive scene
Man it's crazy that Bo4 is "back in the day." I stopped buying the game annually after black ops 3, and Bo4 still feels like a pretty new cod game to me.
Stonehaven was honestly so much fun with snipers. I only played that map with snipers. A lot of long shots. Me and my friends would try to cross map quick shot each other
One of my favorite details in Hanoï is the signs around the map written in French because the prison used to be controlled by the French when it was still a colony
I'll always remember Aachen and it was my favorite map in that game solely due to the fact that I grew up 30 minutes away and would visit every other weekend.
That Cold War map is SOOO unique. I’ve played every cod but that map I’ve played a couple times a couple summers ago and I vividly remember how cool it was. Then I just never saw it again. I forget what mode it was on.
I will never forget Hanoi bc it was the map of my first ever game of any call of duty. I used the MP5K default class and was talking on the phone w my friend bc we were in 6th grade and our parents didn’t trust us to talk on the mics. I got literally 0 kills but fell in love w it, which is why I hate SBMM so much, they claim it gets new players hooked on it, but we all started without SBMM and fell in love w the games so clearly that’s not true
I wish I caught this video earlier because I have to compliment your editing on it. It’s the small things, but matching the music with each game it goes with made a huge difference difference on this video as ever new theme slapped me with nostalgia. Awesome video
I always remembered aachen because of the history behind it. The battle of aachen was a massive meat grinder irl, and the city was the first city within germany to be captured by the allies.
District was one of my favorite maps for S&D 😢 And although I like Crisis from Black Ops, I think it should’ve been on this list instead of Hanoi. And saying only Aftermath was bad at BO2 launch is WILD. Drone and Turbine are both F tier trash maps compared to all other maps in BO2. Great video overall! 😊
I agree with you that Vortex is totally forgotten but what MW3 6v6 map do you think is the most forgotten including dlcs? I’d say probably Foundation, Decommission or Gulch
I have FINALLY found a fellow Siege hater! I've been saying that it's the worst map of all time for years, but Stonehaven is so memorable that people always say that it's the worst from Ghosts (even though Chasm is also worse than Stonehaven). You got my subscription from that one opinion alone! Also, I personally wouldn't include any DLC in videos like this for exactly the reason you mentioned; the maps added later in the life cycle have an unfair advantage (disadvantage?) to be more forgotten. But it was a great video regardless and you should make videos however you want. Plus, I learned about a map that i didn't know existed! (That DRC Zone map from MWII.)
The only kem strike I got in ghosts was playing in chasm, and while I agree the map is horrendous for the average player due to the excessive verticality and weird layout I liked that map and that’s why I think I was able to get the kem 😂
Yeah siege is by far the worst, run for years and when you spot someone they're in a corner behind a door with an mts. the wide open middle lane is horrible because of the buildings either side and the foliage, and the mining lane is gross because its another camp fest with M27 thermal sights. Genuinely the worst map by a landslide.
Not to be that guy, the first game which had swimming in MP was actually AW. And the first game you could go underwater in was MW3 on the map Getaway. You could go under the water but there was no swimming animation of anything. You just went into crouch or prone.
Overgrown is a map no one remembers from Cod4:MW until you mention it. There are some more maps from Cod4:MW that were really good, but not great. Overgrown however, was a great map gameplay wise, but failed to leave a mark because of Backlot, crash, etc.
Havoc on bo3 is definitely a forgettable map but it was actually my first and only nuke I've ever gotten in cod. I still remember my class was the olympia with long barrel and fast mags, rk5 with extended mags, 2 concussion grenades, tac mask, ghost, and scavenger
So picking any competitive map from a previous game kinda voids this list. Maps like Hanoi, Arsenal, Crusher aren't really forgotten and are quite honestly very well remembered. Better option from each title would've been Bo1: Radiation or Cracked IW: Grounded since it wasn't in competitive. Bo4: Militia or Icebreaker
I only really play Cold War as new COD's just havent been worth buying. However it seems i havent found Deprogram once this year, which is wierd because it wasnt that rare last year.
I know I’m late to the party, but they removed America and Deprogram from the 6v6 map pool like a year ago for some reason. Pretty sad since I enjoyed both maps.
Bo3 havoc was one of the most sweatiest maps i have ever played like i remember playing multiplayer and each time i was on havoc i would have like 20 deaths and 5 kills
I still remember all the og cods maps. When you said Carbon i was going mad but thinking about it you might be right, but those cods were so good they had so many good maps...
8:55 Looks like the footage was chopped since for a split second was the home screen. Edit: Honestly same I really couldn’t have fun with Mw2 2022 it just felt like an overdose of Mw2019, at least with Mw3 I actually remember all the little secrets each map had.
I actually remembered Greece extremely😮 is one of the only bright maps I can actually see on without having to turn up my brightness or get closer to my screen
I would have said something about Karachi being picked as one of the forgotten maps, but I saw he picked it for MW2. Back then, it was a forgettable map to me as well tbh. I didn't really want to get it when voting for maps, but also didn't mind playing it. As for in MWIII, it's one of those maps that for some reason, I have a changed perspective on it. I love Karachi in MWIII & it became one of my favorite launch maps, especially when playing it in the 10v10 playlist. The pacing to the map just becomes so much better this way.
Damn, I've really forgotten about those bo2 and mw3 maps, I played those games a bunch. Did NOT expect that after seeing what you picked for the previous games.
DRC Zone 1 is based on Building 21 from DMZ. It's an outdoors version of it, kinda. I would say this map isn't forgotten, but Koro Village is. Koro Village is a remake of Toujane from COD 2. That map was great but released in the final season of MWII. At that point, the player base shifted to WZ 2 and older CODs and prepping for MWIII
Aachen is a very forgetful map, but Damm the snipping battles on it are very fun. Also when playing hide and seek it seems to always come back to that map more so than the others in my experience.
Nah, Upheaval is great and it's one of my favorite WaW maps. I still remember its entire layout and the fun times I had playing it. If you're looking for forgotten maps in WaW, try Hangar
Hangar was my 2nd choice for WAW! My decision was made based on which map I got to play first 😂 I do love Upheaval but I think people remember Courtyard, Castle, Cliffside, and Dome as the great maps from WAW (Upheaval should be included)
I was only picking launch maps or maps that were free dlc because obviously paid dlc maps are more likely to be forgotten because most of the player base never played them!
Havana would probably have been my pick for BO1 but this is an extremely subjective topic. I absolutely loved that game, fav CoD by far. BO2 is the only one that competes imo
a lot of people really liked DRC Zone 1, it really didn't resemble any other MWII map and it also had plot significance due to it being part of DMZ's Building 21. there are a lot more forgettable MWII maps
Maybe it's cause i played Vanguard's seasons more than most, but the most forgotten for me would've been Fortress from season 5. Like cmon it launched mid season right before MWII. No one was getting hyped to go play Fortress in Vanguard lol
I think you missed on not including DLC maps… yes a lot of the community never bought them but that’s a big part of why they’re forgotten… Karachi? I remember like the back of my hand, Trailer Park on the other hand not so much. Mainly remember watching my older brothers friend pub stomping on it if anything
