Well done Buttons ! I sometimes use a jewellers loupe to look at gold closely in the pan to examine the surface texture. You'll be amazed at the contours you'll see and how beautiful it looks, glowing even on the dullest of days ! In an area where there is mica this also removes any doubt, rather than doing the drag / scratch test across the pan which wears down your gold. Some gold is even heavily iron stained (something to be mindful of) but under magnification you'll see the shine peep through here and there. It's great that you have such determination. Keep up the good work. Happy prospecting😀
Thank you mate I have a loupe and brought one with me but didn’t think of that haha definitely better idea then scratching it, definitely will remember the tips thanks
Definitely gold in that pan. Gold floats also unless you use a water surfactant to break the water tension. That's why people use dishwasher rinse aid. That's what jet dry is. You use that because it doesn't have many bubbles compared to washing up liquid 👍 the way to tell if it's gold is put it in the dark and gold shine's in the dark 💚💛❤️
@@AdventuresWithButtons I enjoy teaching my friends about the knowledge I've picked up in all these years. 👍 Have you noticed the nugget I found in my picture? It weighs 7.5g🤣
Typical Leadhills rain , i love spending time in that area ,I have one of these sluices, never been out the box yet, been itching to test it, seen loads of reviews good/bad on it, the best results were obtained by classifying down to 4/5mm preferably 4mm , you will find micro grains of Pyromorphite which in the sun can look like gold, can be deceiving, but your finding gold , Thanks for sharing mate see ya in the next one.
Thanks mate I’m very green with sluice but I’ve seen the reviews too I was lucky to get one definitely gonna get a even smaller clsssifier, I love the area mate
Experience is the best teacher!! Great to see you on the gold, nice one!! Thank you for taking us out with you, a lovely day out for some of us who, like myself, might be stuck indoors!! Keep up the good work, its fantastic to see people out enjoying themslves!! Andrea and Critters. ...XxX...
Looked like gold to me Jordan, you've got a heart like a lion doing that mate, I'll stick to digging scrap up with my detector, just upgraded to the Equinox 900 and have got a brand new permission, done a lot of research on it and there was lots of industrial activity in the early 1700's so here's hoping...
You might find it better if you keep the pan in the water washing material out. I usually keep it in about an inch or make sure most of the material is covered. 👍💚💛❤️
