House Of The Dragon has already had some majorly f**ked up things happen in it. There's been deaths whilst giving birth, women asking Dragons to kill them, Kids with filed teeth in fighting pits and so much more. However there's an even worse moment coming down the line that I thought we'd talk about. Now either you've read the book and already knew what it would be from the thumbnail or you don't and are just curious by the tease with Helaena.

With that out the way huge thank you for clicking this, now let's get into the video.

Ok so in order to set this situation up we have to talk about one of the major deaths that happens early on in the dance of the dragons. Lucerys and Aemond are both dispatched to Storms End in order to try and get people on their side. The Baratheons are a major house and having them on board would have the potential swing the civil war in their favour.
Aemond arrived there first and he agreed to marry one of Lord Borros' daughters in order to strengthen both sides. Lucerys showed up not long after but as he was already bethrothed to his cousin he couldn't do the same thing.
Aemond demanded that he cut out his eye and though Luke didn't do this, Aemond eventually did get his revenge. He followed Lucerys out and on the back of Vhaghar he killed both him and his dragon.
Upon learning this Daemon promised Rhaenyra that there would be a son for a son and this is where things really started to go down.

Every time I see Helaena, I feel so bad for her. She would have been so much happier had she been married to Jace, and she would have grown up with love around her. Likely it would have been realised that she has "the sight"/prophetic dreams, and listened to a bit more. Could have kept her children alive and unscathed as well. Truly a tragic character.

@@Malthizar You can't use what happened with Blood and Cheese as justification against the marriage of Helaena and Jace. If they had been married earlier in the story, obviously Helaena would never have encountered Blood and Cheese at all. However, it's likely that her children would have died either way, considering so many Targareyens die in the Dance of the Dragons.

unlike other dragon dreamers, i feel like helaena has one of the most severe cases of it. cuz when she explains her dragon dreams it's like she's still in the state of dreaming. the way she explains it is so cryptic and unhinged. unlike, viserys who has one of the less severe cases of dragon dreaming, where he explains his dreams when he's awake from it and only sees dragon dreams when he's asleep and actually, dreaming! compared to helaena who is a dragon dreamer who talks normally like anyone but probably, once triggered by something gets into a dream-like state.

I just wonder did they really believe that that something like this wouldn’t happen? Otto even suggest to “arrest” Raenhyra and execute her and her children. Eh, everyone forgot that she, her husband and children are dragon riders and that she won’t bend the knee neither will go to her execution voluntarily. I feel bad for Haelena but what idiot decides to seize the throne and believe that there won’t be a war even after murdering one of legitimate heirs children. Like what were they thinking??? It was laughable when Otto ordered to go to dragonstone murder/capture Raenhyra to that kings guard. Good thing he had honor because if he went there with the intention to harm the princess he and his men would have become dragon food.

I want to jump for joy because at least someone gets it. For someone who has plotted this for decades, Otto is dumb as hell. The first person who needed to go was Daemon. Daemon...the man Otto would make a pact with the devil in order to ensure he didn't get anywhere near that throne, is Rhaenyra's husband. A man who has wanted Otto gone for decades to wanting him dead after Viserys dies and Aegon is crowned. Daemon ALONE is a huge threat. Add more dragons and a naval fleet to the mix and you have tough opposition. Second, you know shit is about to hit the fan because of Luke. Again, he's planned this for decades but didn't realize the King he wanted was a liability? The King's brother is a liability? Otto doesn't even remain Hand long, which is a pity as he's Tywin Lannister compared to the dummies that succeed him.

My theory is that, Helaena's Children are Aemonds too. Aegon had no Desire for his wife and also don't want to fulfill his duties, but Aemond does. This fits perfectly for the eye for an eye and a Son for a son, which really connects to him.

Aegon said she was stupid when she was actually gifted. Aemond may have perceived it differently but his thinking is duty bound. Helaena was never treasured in that family. I wish she had Daella Targaryen's will at least and say she does not want to marry Aegon!! Actually she and Daella are similar in that they have been thought to be stupid when one was gifted and one was really sensitive and probably on the autism spectrum.

I really think Helaena was nodding to Rhaenys, hoping that she would burn them all and spare her from meeting the real beast beneath the boards. She could die in peace knowing that dream of blood and cheese that has haunted her for so long would never come to pass. (the kids weren't there) She looked so hopeful facing the dragon, it's sad to think about.

Well she has dragon dreams (or is a greenseer) and /technically/ if aemond didn't lose his cool and kill luce which was seen as first blood in the dance, there would have been no reason for daemon/white wyrm to send blood and cheese. Its kinda Aemonds fault,,, Helena probably already knows that her family is the reason why she is going to fall into insanity but doesn't understand it yet, maybe that's why she's crying at Aegons crowning because she knows/feels the start to a horrible end for her and her family 😓

I don't think we'll get this until very early in season 2. We don't have enough time for it in episode 10. We have to get Rhaenyra's reaction to Viserys dying and Aegon taking the throne. We need everything at Storm's End to happen as well. It would be too much to have Blood & Cheese in episode 10, but imagine the very first scene we get in season 2 is of them using the hidden passage ways to sneak into the tower.

the book is a collection of varying accounts from multiple maesters who are loyal to oldtown and by extension the hightowers and mushroom. The show is what actually happened. of course the scriptures from old town demonized rhaenyra and daemon they were propaganda.

@@Marvette_h right after the war, the green secured the kingslanding but got backstabbed by people on the council. Cregan was the only one with an army left standing marching on the capital, so they opened the gate for him. He forced the new king and the council to name him hand of the king and he purged lords that sided with the greens and returned back to the north. He also got a new wife out of the whole ordeal 😂

@@Marvette_h He is Lord Cregan Stark, he came to King's Landing, where Alicent's son Aegon II held captive Rhaenyra's son, Aegon III. Then Aegon II died (poisoned, but it's not known by who exactly) and since he didn't have any heir left, Aegon III became a king. That was the end of Dance of the Dragons. Then Lord Cregan Stark for a day was the Hand of the King and he cleared out the court and the elites of corruption. Then he returned to North.

When Daemon said a son for a son I didn’t know it was gonna be this brutal. The Greens landed their first blows and they were effective but the Blacks definitely got them back twice as bad. Cruel but effective is the perfect way to describe Blood and Cheese. Also because Helaena went mad and she could not ride her dragon Dreamfyre because of this. So not only did they get their revenge but they also killed two birds with one stone by eliminating a dragon from the Green side. I personally doubt Helaena would have gotten on her dragon and burned people alive but her being unable to ride him gave the Blacks more assurance just in case

I think it's a mistake to attach a noble intention to this. Daemon has shown himself to be a very brutal character (killing his wife with a rock, mocking Visery's deceased don Baelor)... to attribute it to a strong sense of family is far too generous IMO.

EXACTLY! Feel like the show has been padding the Green's as baddies(Lord "OnlyFans"Strong, Otto "Pimp My Daughter"Hightower, Criston "Angry Boy"Cole, etc;)so that the Blacks are seen as the best(Rhaenyra isn't the one who orders Vaemonds death and Laenor just skips off into the sunset instead of being killed on Daemon and Rhaenyra's orders so they can marry because Daemon and Rhaenyra are never wrong). I want to see the fans cheering for the Blacks to realize the real awful side of what they do. I've seen reactions where they cheer Aemond being beaten up as he defends himself and when he gets his eye cut out. I want to see the fans shrivel up like a salted slug as they see that Luke, a man grown(by Westeros standards)be avenged by killing a child who doesn't even know what "succession"means. I bet the show will make it the Greens fault somehow(like Otto had the murder happen to INSPIRE Aegon II or something, lol.)

I find it interesting that even though Helaena is an oracle, she didn't foresee Blood and Cheese choosing to kill her eldest son. However, maybe she knew that the whole situation was going to happen but couldn't see which son it would be. Either way, she and her children are the victims. Too bad she didn't just leave with her kids to find Renerya and make peace before this mess went down. I would have if I knew that was the future for my children and me.

Tragic Endings 1. Rhaenyra was burned to death as her son Aegon III watched. 2. Aegon III was traumatized for the rest of his life after witnessing his mother's brutal death. 3. Alicent was imprisoned in her chambers for the rest of her life being somewhat deranged and hating the color green. 4. Otto was executed after Rhaenyra and the Blacks retook Kingslanding. However, she spared Alicent and Haelena likely to honor their past friendship. 5. Daemon was conflicted on Rhaenyra's side and decides to leave the war for good by killing Aemond and then leaving Westeros to have a new life with Nettles. 6. What felt emotional is how the surviving members of the Dance of the Dragons worked together to rebuild Westeros' strength and glory without the dragons.
