For me, the better option concerning lineups is to just manage it myself. That's saves me all that time trying to figure out what the computers going to do, and ensures the guys I want to develop fastest get their playing time. You definitely want to check and see if you have positions that are overly stacked.

Just want to leave this comment here for other franchise guys who want a “quirky” player lock for their franchise. I noticed that each time you start a new franchise, the FAs are regenerated. The generated FAs can have quirks; 1-3 for Pitchers and 1-4 for PPs. So if you’re really wanting a quirked up ball player, restarting until you find a guy you like and then editing him is probably your best bet. Hope this helps someone out!

I’m a big franchise guy always have been since MVP and I just wanna say that u r totally correct. A lot of ppl may not realize but when u start a new franchise those generated FA prospects can fill up ur farm system. I’ve found 18 year olds with A potential and over 70 overall quite a few times.

@@adamlarocca2557 They're always so tempting to pick up. I personally don't like to though cause it feels like it takes away some of the challenge of building up a farm system. My own house rule is no signing any players over a C potential unless they're 26 or older. Once the cpu teams have had a full year to try and sign some of those auto-generated prospects they're fair game in off-season free agency.

@@paulkollars6667 uk I never thought about it like that. Definitely does take some of the challenge away. Either way I’m having a blast in franchise this year. Scouting is so much better and u rely can build a great farm system around the draft

You are reading my mind with all of these recent videos you have been uploading. I am engrossed in scouting and minor league progression! There is so much that is not common knowledge that im trying to figure out. Thank you!

Thanks for this! I really appreciate your MLB videos. Would you be willing to go more in-depth about scouting and drafting with the new mechanics, maybe if there's any strategies you've changed since your last video? For example, I'd be curious what your rule of thumb is for looking at OVR and the player's age -- I've found that I sometimes get too distracted by high potential and then those players end up with a low 50s or 40s overall. I've also had good success using the "scout position" feature with pitchers and a specialized pitching/efficiency scout, I often find several valuable nonranked SP's that I can scoop up in the late rounds

Love the Channel. The only thing I would change is putting Cal Mitchell at AA and leaving Lolo at AAA.

I play minor league games early in the season or after a trade to ensure things match-up for lineups/playing time.. it helps a ton

Was just wondering does training really matter during spring training games as I usually save it for the first month of the season and change monthly

I rely love the scouting this year it’s challenging but they’ve done such a good job balancing it. I also wanna mention that a good way to ensure players progress is by player locking them and getting them hot. I just started a Yankees franchise a few days ago. They got some solid young talent like Dominguez and volpe. Sometimes when u bring em up and u sim they suck so they can regress and even lose that A potential. So for the first month I’ll player lock them and try to do well with them and they will end up progressing much faster. Also one more thing thag helps with progression is increasing players base running aggressiveness. This won’t touch they’re overall it just ensures they steal more bases. If I got a prospect with over 75 speed and stealing ability but only 25 aggressiveness I’ll increase it to at least 75

Wouldn’t mind you doing a video about position change, I sometimes have a lot of pitchers and wonder what I should look at if I wanted to change a starter to a closer or closer to a relief and etc
@ComPTonRiLLO
@ComPTonRiLLO Год назад
This is actually a good idea. I think as GMs it should be okay to “edit” the players position. Sometimes organizations do that and it’s not a feature that is available currently in game.

How does the A level minor league system work in this game? Does everyone on the A level minor system get playing time? Is there a cap on how much someone can improve in each level of the minors?
@JacobReid
@JacobReid Год назад
The level A system is basically just a holding system in this game. Players don’t play any games like in real life. Players will usually only progress in single A if they have A or B potential and naturally just go up a little Usually players in AA can’t progress much past a 69. AAA usually can’t progress much past a high 70
@adamlarocca2557
@adamlarocca2557 Год назад
I like putting 18 year olds with A potential down there for a year. Because they will automatically progress pretty well. Then when they’re 19 the next season I’ll keep ‘em there for a month or 2 then double A
@bkrause4424
@bkrause4424 26 дней назад
Can someone confirm is it purely based on playing time or does the level they're getting the playing time matter ie. Will a player progress faster playing fewer games in AAA than playing more games on AA. Like 50 games in AAA is worth 100 games in AA in terms of experience and progression? Or does the level not matter at all??
@bkrause4424
@bkrause4424 26 дней назад
If so why not just place all the players you want to progress fastest at the lowest level just to get the number of games in?
@ScrawnySlugger
@ScrawnySlugger Год назад
Do players at higher levels develop better than those at lower levels?
@JacobReid
@JacobReid Год назад
No, not necessarily. It’s tied largely to performance, and there’s a cap on development. A 55 overall probably won’t play well in AAA because they’re going up against a bunch of 65’s. They’ll also probably not progress much because of that. However, a 70 overall would probably do amazing in AA because they’re playing a bunch of 55’s. They probably won’t develop much though because they’re only in AA. It wouldn’t mean much to do well in AA for that high of an overall
