Its really sad to see an artist like Cole not getting recognition he deserves. He's a goddamn poet. "underrated but far from underpaid" he was right about this line in the adonis interlude. Good thing is that he doesn't cares about recognition,he just love his real fans. It's very admiring and motivating that an artist this big doesn't craves for attention. This is a perfect learning for most of us as we all know we thrive for ttention somewhere and somewhat in life.
@@KingstonDope I mean from what I have heard I don't listen about Cole that much around. I myself too got to of his existence through a brother's friend. Anyways if he's not underrated I am very happy. He surely deserves the fame. I hope the Fall Off's going to be amazing and have a Kendrick feature.
@@KingBenny I think it's because KOD was total therapy. Every song and every bar had a life-saving and healing message. I saw reactors crying on some of the songs, it was extremely relatable. I can/could identify with every song on it.
J.Cole sound like this is his Final Getsugatensho I'm expecting the coldest ish ever frfr I still listen to TOS tracks every once in a while, I'm a hiphop artist myself, and J.Cole definitely held me down through the mid 2010s early 2020s, I agreed it's not as talked about anymore but it was good for the time it was released for sure. J.Cole comes from that same proving grounds kind of era thats just before my time of birth in 93. Now that I'm 30 myself and released my own fair share of songs I started myself seeing those "8 week lil whatevers" myself and started openly dissing their advent in my own music. so Everybody Dies is a song I respect and resonate with for that section of it in particular. Anyway im excited for the fall off as well, good video
Idc about people being upset with Cole, for apologizing, because that’s what grown men do. I’m so excited for The Fall Off🔥 Still the best rapper in my book
His 2014 Forest Hills Drive live album is my all time favourite. Can’t wait for The Tall Off! And what an amazing and well put together video again, keep on going 💪🏾
I hope cole drops atleast 3 more album before retiring completely cuz he didn't drop as many albums as drake/eminem/kanye and jay Z did, I feel like cole needs to cement himself more like other rappers also I'm a cole fan and I am greedy for more albums and not to forget the kendrick and cole collab album I want that (but it will never come out) lol
Yea Eminem Kanye nas hov all proved they are still able to put together great albums even being in their 40s I genuinely feel like j.cole Kendrick drake still have a 2-3 impactful projects in the tank also 💯
I'm looking forward to cole on alchemist and metro production. I hope its a boy is an album or mixtape because imo more music from him the better also it lets him further cement himself.
Great vid once again. What are your opinions about "It's A Boy" though? I know "The Fall Off" is the main point of discussion regarding J. Cole right now but ever since this "The Fall Off Era" was teased "It's A Boy" was set to be released prior to "The Fall Off".
@@KingBenny There is the off chance that J. Cole might be baiting us into "It's A Boy" instead of "The Fall Off" with the MightDeleteLater vlog. "It's A Boy" might be the last thing Cole needs to prepare himself & us fans and better his artistry both lyrical and sonically wise, who knows really? MightDeleteLater Vol. 1 had Cole saying that he's in the studio bettering his producing skills to push himself further and working alongside the likes of Metro Boomin', The Alchemist hinted on working with Cole on Twitter/X too. Even if "It's A Boy" is an album, mixtape or EP he'd need promotion for it one way or the other. It's also not bad to assume a mixtape to be treated with the same level of passion and craftsmanship as an album once in a while. The "Powered Up" snippet starts with him saying "said I was finished but I'm on another 2 summers". It's a reach but this can mean that Cole might not be retiring as soon we think he is; what if he drops "It's A Boy" and he spends those "2 summers" he mentioned to drop "The Fall Off" and then he retires at last? All of this is simply fan theory and maybe "It's A Boy" was unfortunately scrapped entirely and we're getting the long awaited "The Fall Off".
@@obsidianmaster6782 nah man I don't think so. He won't be baiting for The Fall Off for 6 years now. I think it's a boy must be an ep or some single or even a snippet before the release of The Fall Off.
@@bhvy.07 I mean it's all theory of course. I personally do hope that "It's A Boy" is somewhere along the lines of Mixtape or Album even because having more J. Cole wouldn't hurt us as fans in the slightest knowing he's supposedly leaving but hey it is what it is one way or the other.
I already believe forest hills drive is a certified classic but I'm praying the fall off is Cole cementing himself among the greats, he is already there but there is a bunch of people who overhype grammys and shit and don't think cole is up there
The honest truth is The Casual hip hop fan is keeping up with Casual Hip Hop ,They arent Checking for Top tier Rappers ,they Checking for whats hot now not whats Great ,the Biggest Rappers of the last decade all dealing with this ...Mr Morale and The Big Steppers Wont be spoken about like it should be, The Off Season wont be Spoken about like it should given its one of Coles Best Projects even Drakes Scary hours 3 which is Drakes Greatest Body of music where he's actually rapping Rapping ,He was really on their dropping bars on Bars but because of how music is consumed By the casual Hip hop fan none of that will ever get the Praise and Appreciation they deserve ...J Cole will be Just Fine , He's J Cole 😌
i feel like this album has such high expectations and i kinda think that if there is one somewhat mid song on the album it'll get so much hate even if it is a good tape. honestly i'm excited because if CMIYGL wasnt dropped the same year, the off-season would have been my album of the year - kinda doubt we'll see it this year tho. so many artists have supposed to been dropping but no one has really ;-;
The Off-Season is literally titled The Off-Season for a reason. It's an album but it comes off as more of a mixtape and a lyrical exercise than some grand album with a narrative or concept weaving through it like most of his albums. Most tracks either only have 1 verse or no hook at all. It's a short album for his standards as well; I viewed it as an offering of music to hold us over until we get something bigger like The Fall Off. I think you're being too harsh on the narrative surrounding it and spend way too much on it in this video. When I talk to a lot of true hip hop fans, The Off-Season is one of the most brought up and listened to albums in recent years. The Off-Season offers some of the best rapping of the decade and it still features conscious tracks. It's essentially a B-sides album and a very good one at that, better than a lot of rappers' most ambitious albums.
I need Cole to be a bit weird on this album ngl not just straight rappin or at least not just straight rapping about flexing how good he is because he did that on Off Season and most his features since then
No music can falloff, the problem this album showcases is something that cole has mentioned in songs. You mention Jordan championship run however lets not forget he also played baseball, he also came back playing for the wizards and he now owns a shared part of the hornets. All of that stuff he's done didnt accumalate to shit imo. It doesn't matter, there isnt any need for comparison or question of how it impacts his legacy because the man is just living his life frfr. I think we should value our own life's ethics rather than wonder upon others' legacy. These albums is a rhythmic literary experience and also just another piece of cole life and music discography. I just feel like its stupid to question the career of an author just because this latest book aint hitting📖rather than appreciating their story and embellishing your own writing.
The man has a whole family. Fastforward decades from now after he has lived his life and speaks his last word, i dont think he cares about none of this as much as he cares about HIS FAMILY being in his presence. That's not to demean your point. I just wanted to add another interpretation. 4 your eyes only. (i just feel like saying 4 your eyes only sounds cool asf to end a statement,it has nothing to do with what Im saying rn)
I love his guest verses & hunger but I don’t think it will live up to the hype, he took too long to drop the album, he been announced the fall off since 2018
I feel like J Cole is gonna pass Kendrick when it comes to lyrics!! Kendrick’s last album just felt like “I am out of here” type of vibe while J Cole is gonna be like “I am gonna make this last album one the biggest and greatest albums of rap music!!” Kendrick to me just a strange turn on music and I feel like he got pressured way too much to make some crazy album and just kinda just shut down
Sorry to burst your bubble but cole is never surpassing Kendrick in lyrics songs in his last album like United in grief, father time, mother I sober,n95 Kendrick lyricism has not reduced in quality not in the slightest
@nathanakpe4897 right! Kendrick wasn't pressured. He made the album he wanted to make, an album for him that helped him confront some of his internal issues as human, and we were invited to witness it.mess and all. Cole is cool but he's just a good. I need more just bars
@@KingBenny but you said Off Season doesn’t get bumped or talked about? How is that not statistically wrong when it’s a platinum album and still getting so many daily plays?
dawg.... listen to what i said.. More FORGOTTEN meaning that Donda gets more spins.... put it to you like this Rakim more forgotten than someone like MC Hammer but it doesnt make him the weaker rapper
