Thanks for the tips given in the video, sometimes it's difficult to find content that can please everyone or sometimes even yourself. Maybe for my insecurity, looking at these videos gives me a lot of energy and desire to do more and more. thank you!!!❤️❤️
So true Aidin! I don't have nearly the knowledge about filmmaking as you have ( I barely can put scenes together in Imovie). But I am willing and curious to learn every day and sit hours in front of my screen completely filled with joy editing my own hiking adventures to have visual memories of the best moments in life!
Forget algorithms. These are the kind of videos that inspire me to spend time creating. I love when others just do what they love without caring about the analytics, and nothing makes me want to go out and make my own ideas come to life more! Hope I get to run into you on the Parkway sometime Aidin 🤙 Cheers
Honestly I’m subscribed to purely filmmakers and when a new vid pops up you’re usually the only one I click on instantly. Anything you upload is pure gold, always learning something while seeing the visuals flow together! Keep it up Aidin!
Looking back, this is one of the most beautiful videos you've ever made. It was such a pivotal point in the channel. The ending feels like a grand finale and a new beginning
Love this advice! Especially in a age of reels and tiktoks where everyone’s attention span is getting shorter, I think it’s important to provide quality and in depth content that requires research and patience. Glad this kind of content is still thriving! I would definitely also watch a longer documentary style film by you, I think it would be beautiful!
Thanks, Aidin your hard work doesn't go unnoticed. Beautiful shots in fantastic scenery, your editing is phenomenal and the storytelling is constructed in a way that grabs the audience's attention to continue listening throughout the video. Well done man!
Whenever I feel like my mind is spiralling out of control and I question what I doing, ... I find my own algorithm leads me to watching one of your videos. You seem to be able to bring me a sense of renewed hope and peace at the same time. Thanks again mate for helping me to remember why im curious in this space and that its ok to be no longer interested my old space. Keep it up; hope to meet and who knows collaborate one day.
I enjoyed this break to speak freely and truly about your inspirations and intentions. You have a special type of art, and speaking as an avid enthusiast, I will likely enjoy anything you create. What is most important is that you are happy and you can do what you love, Aidin. I know that you are not one of those artists or creators on social media who create just for the likes and the love, but for the thrills and the lives involved. You truly care about what you do to make this world seem more beautiful, summed up perfectly as "ars gratia artis."
Aidin, this is a fantastic video. The story and message are so simply executed in a beautifully complex method. Incredibly inspiring. Excited to see more travel/hiking films from you in the future!
I really needed to hear this message today. Several years ago, I fell in love with creating performance videos. My zeal was all consuming. However, as this pandemic passes, I find myself unmotivated, listless. Now I realize that my shooting passion will return when I redirect my creative energies to one of my other interests. Thanks for sharing your insight. Very much appreciated.
I came to this channel from the wonderful filmmaking advice you give, but I find that I learn just as much watching you put these principles into practice. I cheer you on in your new path not only for your creative evolution, but also as someone kearning through observation, I'm getting just as much value from watching you tell stories that matter to you and leaving inspired by how you decided to execute it to the point where I have to screenshot some of these shots/edits because they're pure fire. The filmmaking insights aren't as clear cut as full blown tutorials, but when you're actively engaged in the craft, your eyes are primed to see things that allow time spent watching film to be an educational investment. Looking forward to when these films hit big on the algorithm because they're tremendous, man.
i love how you keep posting vids that you enjoy even if they don’t do as well. however, you continue to inspire other creators to do the same like me. i believe that is what makes an outstanding create content creator as yourself!
You have got just the right answer for me was struggling to find what to shoot and now I have my answer "Make films which follows your curiosity or desire"
Very inspirational! Thanks for spending so much time searching for stuff that appears to be obvious but that we usually don't think about. It's really easy to fall in a routine that kills creativity, and the fact that you're trying to diversify the subjects you talk about in your videos is awesome.
Keep on doing what you want to do buddy. Your content is amazing and I love the topics your doing. Your stuff about film making is still there to go to anyways and I’m sure you’ll do more in the future, but massive thanks for doing this different stuff, it’s great seeing what your into. Keep doing it!
Thank you for sharing this video and the advice. I always learn something through the videos you post and the quality is always there. Some creators post videos of their travels and I do not believe I learn anything other than the fact they are enjoying themselves during the trip.
It simple advice but it’s so true. I got out of creative work because I was always working on projects I didn’t care about and i ended up showing up to projects with little/no motivation. Sure a job isn’t supposed to always be fun but creative work is actually really hard work and if you’re not having fun/reward from it you’ll burn out. I did. Also, the best work has passion that people can feel when they consume it. There’s something about making content you love that people can pick up on.
I've always thought creativity ebbs and flows, it's not meant to stay stagnate, dammed up creating the same thing over and over. The reason why there's greater engagement on those videos, is because you have greater passion for those stories and videos and it shows imo. People, myself included, enjoy seeing that and like learning something from it!
yeah man, forget the algorithm, I love that you shared your heart in this video. I struggle with this feeling, my niche is doing reaction videos for silly things that happen, lot's of time i feel like I'm wasting my life, and want to shift the focus to something more life-giving rather than channel growing. You're channel is enormous compared to mine but I know the human heart, we always hate the thing that makes us feel trapped.
BTW, you can make videos on any topic because they are amazing and it is a learning experience for us (your audience) by itself. YT algorithm will figure it out, passion is everything for the creator
Beautiful words bro! I feel your words, at the beginning of watching your videos I was like, Omg now Im able to do this transition and this sound design, and i watched more and more videos about crafting. But after a while, after some years, I feel like Im no more an artist more like a machine which is doing what over people wanna see and not what i like to do. Im feeling burned out over and over again. But these videos like this one right now, feels like ice cream to my soul, Im relax, enjoying and kind of inspired by your words (PS: your framing is insane bro!). Have a nice day!
Been here since your tutorial days and even reached out on IG for some help and you responded! Glad to see the shift; you’ve provided excellent info for our community. Greatly appreciated and love the new material. Keep it up 🤘
Meaningful message. Simple and genuine video, really loved it! I subscribed to your channel 100% because of your gorgeous outdoors/travel videos, and they're pieces of art! Just keep going, Aidin! :)
I come back to your channel time after time to get tips for my videos, one the best channels on here I think. I glad to see you making more travel style films though, this the style of video I'm trying to create along with learning more about doc films🤙🏼
Really appreciate this advice Aidin, I just started my channel and this is definitely something I need to keep in mind for the future!! Thanks for sharing your personal experiences, have always loved your videos and the copious amount of effort you put into editing and filming. I really look up to you!! 😊
I like the direction your going, wise words to just film what your passionate on. Also I’m loving the new videos with more focus on the outdoors and adventure and whatever else you passionate about! PS: your advice is always welcomed and received well, thank you for all of it!
DUDE! The guy you brought to the tower was someone I met last year at Olympic national park! That’s so dope! Also just subbed like yesterday. Love your work 🔥🔥
Great video Aidin!! Man, I get you It's very tiring to do the same thing for years although it was your passion!! I will see any content from you!! you work exceptionally well on any topic you pick up!!
Nice video, I enjoyed it very much and watched it completely. If this is what you like doing keep going, you’re a great storyteller, I love your videos!
This is funny how I think about things and videos pop up in my feed that I need to see. Haven’t even posted on my new channel and the whole point of making it was to have a channel I can make videos on whatever hobby I’m into or whatever I want really. Not just the same videos I usually do. Can’t wait to start working on it.
Really inspiring video man, thank you for doing what you do and sharing it for the world to see. Im learning a lot on this passion thats ever growing. If you ever plan on visiting New Zealand let me know. Cheers!
100% agree - the creative process is a journey so if you’re focused on speeding through it as fast as possible, because you’re focused on the output, you’re missing all the potential growth and rewards like scenery! Awesome as usual dude 🤙🏼
I have no interest in hiking on my own but always curious to learn new things. I always watch your videos as an inspiration for a fantastic story telling and cinematography. Congrats on the move! Keep it going buddy
Dude those clouds at the beginning... Holy cow. Great video Aidin. Your content is always inspiring and I've been enjoying these new videos you've been putting out! Keep making them, you're telling a good story, and it's your passion!
that was so beautifully said. I needed to hear this; most importantly for a dance film I'm currently in the process of making. I shouldn't settle for what I know. I'm gonna search for the things I want to know!!! thank you Aidin
I see so many RU-vid filmmakers that seem to get stuck making videos about how to make films rather than using their obvious skills to make films. It reminds me of the George Bernard Shaw quote, "those that can, do; those that can't, teach". It isn't an entirely fair quote because teaching is a skill in itself. But it is a reminder that sometimes the path less travelled may make all the difference. Good luck Aidin! Screw the algorithm. Follow your passion.
Aww yeah new Aidin Robbins video! EDIT: After watching this, I've come to realize that I was always trying to make videos on stuff that I wasn't passionate about, which is why I never really uploaded anything at all. Typically, I would try to make videos about video games, live streaming, and other things that I thought I had a passion for, but never really had. I decided to put down the camera for a while and reevaluate my situation, my content, and what I'm passionate about. I found that I wasn't really interested in video games that much anymore, compared to like 2 or 3 years ago. Last weekend I went to the Blue Ridge twice, and I have to say that it was worth the gas money many times over. It actually makes me want to move closer so I can go more often and not wake up at 2am just to see the sunrise from there XD.
Thank you so much for making this film and sharing this insight. I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that you can love the craft, but not love the work --and that's okay. That understanding is helping me to give myself room to breathe and explore possibilities that I wouldn't have considered possible before.
