As a former CS:GO, Valorant, and Apex player, I find myself point firing from stupid ranges and still coming out on top. It is legitimately one of the strongest mechanics in the game. Master it, Jesse isn't lying!
any skilled mechanic will get nerfed in tarkov. its just how the developers are. and the same people crying about not getting free hand outs will be the first to cheer about skilled mechanic nerfs.
@@aymnno6734 that doesn't even make sense. It's an "exploit" that absolutely everyone has access to. Not everything in this game has to be RNG. No other shooter feels like your legs are jello. Please do not put Tarkovs inertia in the same category as "every other shooter."
It is incredibly strong, but also because it's incredibly game-ified. Shooting a gun from the shoulder like we do in point fire is incredibly unreliable compared to what we've come to learn from playing Tarkov.
@@aymnno6734 whats being exploited is desync. not movement. input lag isnt a solution to a bad netcode. anyways. how do you enjoy the right hand peek battles and pixel peeking thru the cracks of doors now? cause chads aka "players better than you" are still kicking your ass no matter what.
This was one of THE best advice i was ever given by a friend. So i started playing tarkov as my first shooter, first pvp game EVER about a year and a half ago. No clue how to do anything, this advice alone has made my confidence boost up by 100% and made me a much better player. I would do daily warm-ups in factory on hoard mode, with a no ADS rule, and laser on. It's saved my life in so many ways. It's become one of THE first things i tell my buddies to do, they'll often times give me the disgust because its offline.. but honestly there's nothing wrong with practising it, i've had a very few friends come back just after one attempt and tell me, "oh man, my hip-fire has gotten so much better since that advice" which makes me SO proud of them
Literally I couldn’t agree more, I learned point shooting by entering factory on horde, I usually run one or two before I start running online to get my fingers ready.
I've gotta say, Jesse is on fire lately. This particular video was super well done. The content on this channel is getting better every week and Jesse's looking sharp, focused, and really on top of his game. Looking forward to seeing more well deserved growth. I'd like to see equal EFT content with some other non EFT content mixed in there. You've got the talent and personality to attract more ppl and grow the F outta your channel man. Best of luck to you. And thanks for the tips. It's insane how much you and Veritas have helped me who just started a few months ago.
@@Ashley-wi4ng same! I was noticing how Jesse uses the smooth lean, and I was not able to do that with the given key binds, so I changed smooth lean to side MB4. So helpful!
@@kenseigamingVR Well you can actually do it relatively easily with completely default keybinds just saying for newer players y'all don't need to adjust any keybinds but setting up your VOIP if you don't want to.
@@Ashley-wi4ng i used to have lean on mouse3/4 but i noticed i'd press the buttons hard enough to nudge my aim, which made me miss alot. (i use feetpedals now for leaning. SO good)
@@TwiggehTV yeah I had a few keybinds on my mouse that were used frequently in combat and I noticed that once I swapped them out my aim was much more reliable. Point being that I didn’t want anything to interfere with my aim, so my mouse btns are bound to voip and optic changes, etc.
I learned this lesson early wipe when the impact from the recoil nerf hit the hardest. I found that recoil didn't matter as much when point-firing, and it has gotten to the point where I feel more confident taking fights from the shoulder as opposed to aiming.
As this is my first wipe and after years away from M&K I learned very quickly point fire in eft was deadly . It has helped me a lot with getting my sense perfect
@JesseKazam I believe someone already mentioned it but the fore-grip on the MP-7 you’re holding in the vid made me remember this. Rengawr did a quick vid on using the canted RK-1 grip. The middle knuckle on the left hand always lines up vertically with where the barrel is pointed. It can come in really handy! Keep up the great work, much love!
Liked, and here's your comment. I've died to this repeatedly, but was at a loss for how git gud at it even though I've done the exact same thing you've described to get my pistol mag dumps on point. Appreciate the work. Godspeed.
If you've never utilized point fire.. start. Jesse is absolutely right. I practiced by doing offline raids with an M4 that did not have an optic. Turn scavs to high and go kill as many as you can
Your videos are always great Jesse. I was new to PC gaming, have a few friends suggest Tarkov (which I am loving) so is my first wipe, been playing since January and your content has helped me understand the game and improve tactically. Please keep it up Mr Kazam!! 😄
I would love to see a added mechanic of unshouldering your rife and gives you a better movement boost, but with the downside of you gun not being at the ready. Not a demand of BSG but it would be cool.
I can relate to that dozens of tabs open for months thing... I open a tab to remember to look at something later instead of saving a favorite or anything... then forget to look at it.
This may be obsolete, or at the least less applicable, if they change the weapon handling because the YT video that pointed out all the flaws with the gun system now.
this might become obsolete if they add that "free aim" aiming style games like Red orchestra 2 and Insurgency have. Ie, that your gun is not always aimed at the center (or more specifically at a specific point) of your screen. They kinda hinted that being added in one of the latest trailers.
@@ColdWhim it used to be the case back in alpha. Most likely will come back again. Well, not free aim but dead zone. I do like the idea of having that type of free aim in the game. Though I doubt we see that type of free aim since high ready and low ready is coming. The dead zone is definitely coming back.
These days I purely run tac-30 and laser. Point fire reduces ur visible recoil by insane amounts compared to a red dot, making it much easier to kill people especially if ur running higher capacity mags. Aim punch will also lose you a lot of fights and its almost completely unnoticeable when point spraying. When running a semi auto DMR on say woods most people run a delta point onto of their scope. This adds a lot of perceived recoil when ADSing due to the higher mounting. Point firing just ignores that hurdle. With the netcode as it is in Tarkov in close corridor fights like dorms you are better of just right side peaking with pointfire spray and side stepping back behind cover. Half the time you wont appear on their screen and if you do you'll be moving too fast for them to get a clean shot.
never actually thought of this to practice my point-fire, 1st piece of grade A advice i've heard from a streamer in a long time. kudos to you Jesse, i'll be hittin factory up later. cheers bud!
this video is so true, i havent played tarkov in a minute and kept losing fights, my friends are all new and we all kept adsing close quarters, minute i tell them to abuse hipfire we magically win most fights
been point firing since i played the game this is my first wipe and i run maps like shore and labs and tbh point fire is like 75% of my kills its so broken even if they r head glitching if your barrels pointing at there head they will die wherever ur barrel is pointing is where is shoots
Ngl I really hope they add just like a blanket 25%+ inaccuracy on point fire, that would also cut down on a lot of the silly levels of run and gun CoD playstyle people as well if they actually need to do something beyond not run for 0.004 seconds to headshot me.
Honestly...I kinda wish having a laser or tac light didn't magically tighten up the spread. I'm not one of those super realism guys, but it kinda messes with immersion.
Yeah optic housing does block additionals sometimes. Although there is no way to entirely rid the problem so i have been trying to get used to double tapping ads quickly so while im done shooting a volley i can look past the housing in point aim.
Only time I win fights RN in the wipe I point fire. That split second of shooting while they shoulder their gun saves me a lot of gear. until the third party shoots me from behind.
I got into a tussle on Lighthouse where the other guy was ontop of a rock and I was running between trees I didn’t see him at first but as soon as he started shooting at me I turned towards him and point fire sprayed him with my UMP and caught a lucky headshot If it works it works, lol
I've gotten to the point where I only run D-BAL on literally every gun I build but i personally run the infared setting only. M4, Mutant, SR-25, MDR, AK, M1A or even SMG's, it don't matter just stick a D-BAL on it. Its got a flashlight, red laser and infared but imo infared is better cause it gives you all the advantages of a laser or flashlight but without the ability to really be seen if your holding or coming around a corner. Its all personal preference of course and they all have advantages and disadvantages. I may not be seen but I cant blind people and a flashlight may be able to blind people but you cant really see what your shooting too well. As i said, personal preference but D-BAL has it all so D-BAL is king xD
If you use the red light thats hard to see, I usually turn the cross hair setting on, on my monitor which puts it in the middle which is nice because it won't give away your position, but it can make the white dot for finding loose loot harder to see
Tried that, didnt work as well. Bullets literally come out from your gun not eyes so different length guns also have different "crosshair positions" and they usually aren't dead center to our monitor
Damn. I can’t believe I wasn’t subded to this channel bro!! Great vid bro. Interesting enough, according to the last leaks, point firing is going to change pretty soon
My gameplay has definitely gotten better usually killing at least 2 guys a game normally now…the majority of my kills are with hip fire. Seems more accurate than actually aiming which is kinda nuts to me
I usually have bad ammo so i prefer aiming that single HS than hipfiring like this. I know that is faster but... today at shoreline with my bad ammo i've done so much dmg absorbed by armor and died in a 1vs1 fight. I've put more shot on the enemy but they were all thorax...and absorbed. Hs is faster in kill
This is great except point fire will be changing soon - likely in a month or two during the next wipe. Although point fire will still work, it will be no where near as laser beam as it is right now.
I cant wait till point firing is much less effective, it should be a legit strat up close but being able to left click and have your gun barrel literally teleport to the middle of your screen from a full sprint is dumb. Having a dead zone and more fluid animations for coming out of a sprint makes way more sense, because being able to hip fire headshot somebody from 50 meters or have a clumped spray just doesnt make any sense. Also, lasers and flashlights, they shouldnt make your spray tighter, they should legitimately just show where youre shooting and shouldnt affect any stats. This may sound ranty but its much more realistic and will make the game much better.
@@Teddy-se8qb what :|, my boi if you ever played insurgency you understand what it means, it’s not about luck, it’s about where you point you’re mouse at. Point fire right now acts as a three+ point of contact shooting plus after a sprint your gun always comes back to the centre of the screen, unfortunately tarkov hasn’t had any low or high ready profile added to the game so this is less demonstrable but for a realistic game these mechanics are basic features. No one says the point fire profile shouldn’t be effective however right now it is too effective, the point firing should still be accurate but not magically connected to the centre of your screen. Watch this RU-vid vid form T. rex arms to understand what we talking about m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aUXjP9q3zmM.html
@@Teddy-se8qb oh nooo inertia bad :( I wanna be able to perform all actions instantly and bhop around customs with a refrigerator on my back wiping the lobby, also I think they should make armors more effective because they do not protect you at all, like why even use armor at this point :'(
@@rook9450 It's also a video game that requires balance, to a degree. When I'm getting blasted by someone from 25metres away and they're not using any sights, that's a bit broken.
note about the interchange clip, in these type of scenarios where the enemy wont even realize youre there, you can take the brief moment to place a precise headshot instead of spraying your gun hoping to kill your target, which would make ADS'ing good since you were scoped in already. Just another approach, but well played nontheless.
I'm quite new to tarkov, and I'd say out of the 10 fights i get into, I'm not extracting from 7 of them. this is due to a multitude of reasons, but the main reason is my inability to see the enemy or find the enemy before they see me. in most of these circumstances I am adsing as soon as i get shot to try for a face shot since everyone has end game armor with me having early-mid game bullets most of the time. so i will try to work on point fire more in hopes to get better before tarkov wipes.
I’m also new and experiencing the same issue it’s unfortunate that we can only use leg meta or m80 I honestly don’t think hype for using head shots is super valuable since your just getting two shot before even locking onto their head
@@rashonneal954 yeah man, i feel you. I'm just scouring the infinite source of tarkov knowledge that is youtube trying to find an inkling of what to do against the "dead before you can see 'em" menace. it's rough.
You can find good 545x39 on lighthouse quite often. Like bs BP bt. Just scav it and if u don't find anything good try to loot some rouges if u can. Since they have it sometimes plus good armour etc
@@ibanezkiddo thing is, I'm terrified of light house. I know in the back of my mind I'll have to go there at one point, but that place genuinely terrifies me. But that's a me problem. Thanks for your input, I'll look about putting it to use. At one point.......
I've been practicing by going offline to fight reshala and fyi rogues are still there offline..and point firing only cause it's definitely one of my weaknesses..been helping
@@ReanuKeevesAus no you can't keep the loot and you don't loose anything either..for me at least it's a good way to practice with a new build or doing the jumps you see the streamers do..things like that..
Sorry bro, but lasers in EFT doesn't work for me it's really hard to see, ppl could say my graphic settings is the problem but idk. Anyway, I think if devs should use the same idea like Insurgent Sandstorm of aim with a laser, like turning the gun, will be great bc could change the mechanics of how we aim.
Hey jesse how important is it to always have your laser on? I feel like I attach a laser all the time and I do point fire quite a bit, however if I’m not using the flashlight it’s probably off…
The pool engagement where you pushed the dude hard is just a thing duo to bad netcode... everybody knows. Lets say he is even a bit slower on his own reactiontimes, Server / Netcode bs 0,5 Sec maybe + own reactionspeed... ergo = maybe up to 1 sec ahead of him... can´t wait for a hopefully one day fixed netcode...
Does anyone else find that they are constantly hitting arm hit boxes? It fucks me up 90% of the time and i cant tell if its something im doing wrong or just not understanding.
allso a good tip when training pointfire in offline is to remove right mouse button click in settings, this way when your brain automatically would click to ads, it wont ads and you are forced to train in point fire :) @JesseKazam
Ive tried to get better at point fire.... But im ass ngl. Vpo on factory to get better but it all goes out the window when i fight good players, i just get hosed
