I kind of reminds me of my ‘07 Element. That was a great car!

@@MultiPurposeReviewer I regret trading mine in 2020. It was a 5-speed/2wd with 144k miles on it. It would have run forever!

@@chriscon8463 I got mine in 2018. It had 240K on it when I got it, and I've added 25K in my time. Fuel economy is pretty poor, but it's a great car in every other respect, and it costs me nothing to insure. I fully intend to drive it until it simply collapses into pieces from old age.

This car was very popular in Japan, so I think spare parts are easy to get even if it breaks down.

The optional eCamper (still made) for the Element is a good choice for those who don't want right hand drive. Element suspension parts are readily available, and it shares CRD drivetrain as well.

For those wondering how this could fit more people than the Odyssey (at least in 1998 when it was new), the Odyssey could only fit six (with captain's chairs) or seven (with the bench seats, and those are very rare). This could fit eight, according to the video.

Man, I really love all of these imported Japanese vehicles, especially the little trucks! Unfortunately, at 6'4" I don't think any of them would really work for me. Still very cool!

I have the later 2001 series 4x4 version and i have had 8 adults in and it was fine normally we comfortably take two car child seats and 4 adults on our outings. my only bug is the mpg 32max so long journeys are prohibitive as i can see the fuel needle moving whilst driving .

@@jamesonpace726It's a 4 speed... and 4th is an overdrive. I'm not saying it needs 1000 hp, but 135 isn't much when you calculate passengers and gear.

If Americans were not such gluttons of massive fuel guzzling SUVs and trucks we could have these in our market. While I am not a minivan fan they are still better than a SUV/truck

What are the best years to buy this wagon
@ProductofNZ
@ProductofNZ 8 месяцев назад
@@krisp.1593 In my opinion the 1st gen 1996-2001 is the best out of the older generations. You could buy them from the dealer with a pop-up tent. They have reliable drivetrains (the old honda maintays of the era) The older ones seems to have a bit of a following in Japan. There was a couple of generations in the middle (like I bought) that they lost the mojo. Nothing innovative or interesting and they started to introduce CVT transmissions. My favourite Stepwgn gen is the RP generation 2015-2022. Good tech, comfy ride, lots on interior features, sips gas and just a great family hauler. Plus they have an awesome tailgate that opens horizontally and vertically.

Japan gets much more interesting affordable vehicles. The American automotive industry is in the toilet currently. The manufacturers are catering so heavily to affluent buyers with their EVs and large, expensive trucks and SUVs. There's such a disconnect between what Americans actually need and what is being offered to us. When I see what Japan and Europe get, it makes me envious.
