Griffin and ADM primarily do DI guns. Neither include a low profile single piece op rod piston system and the rest of what makes the VK-1 interesting. With the exception of the buffer retainer, If im remembering correctly. They are not the same.
Sounds pretty awesome! Love that altered Cam path is starting to get the attention it rightfully deserves. I will always side with stoner and Karl Lewis on the DI vs piston debate. I think DI is superior in every way except when I need to clean it lol. It seems they took their inspiration from the LMT Enhanced BCG and Bolt. Lewis designed a beast of a BCG and bolt in the early 00’s. Arguably the most expensive setup and hardest to find on the market, but also the best addition you can have for the carbine length gas system so you can reap the benefits of the carbine length gas system. Because it is superior on 16” and less rifles. At least for reliability sakes.
The dumping of the gas happens at the gas block not the bcg. I have the DI variant, it's like a pof roller cam pin but thats about it other than increased dwell time for ejection.
Of course! I personally own one. And the VKTR 13.7 is a far better shooting experience compared to my 16” PWS. Just because it’s a piston gun doesn’t make it the same.
The enhanced buffer pin is a $15 part. The ambi lower is only a bolt release. The larger rear end of the bcg is neither new nor uncommon. All im saying is think twice before buying something like this.
Tombstone tactical has the 13.7 FDE for 1800. It’s the top of the line one. I almost bought it, but thought it was a little risky with it being so new. I got a Super Duty instead. Plenty of reputation.
