I don't know why people are so surprised by Capitano "losing" to Mavuika, we were told that the top 3 harbingers have power comparable to gods, not that they're stronger. The last time we've seen an archon fight against the Fatui was when Ei one shot Signora, it's not so far fetched to think that she can deal with Capitano too, she was beating the Traveler's ass until they got saved by the power of friendship.
True, also, when you think about it, those two are probably about the same level power wise. Mavuika is a human who obtained godlike powers through the gnosis, and Captiano (despite being rank 1) is most likely also a human that has obtained godlike powers through other means. It’s a pretty even matchup, and we can see that through the cutscene.
I dont think Capitano being ranked 1 means he's actually stronger than an Archon. Even if they are human. Him keeping up with Mavuika, I think is exactly where he should be power wise. This was probably the most balanced fight Genshin has ever had.
If they later don't say in another quest that Capitano was weakened or something, that would mean we overestimated the Harbingers strength back in the past, because i think most people think high rank Harbingers are stronger than archons.
@@no5428 they likely aren’t stronger than upper echelon archons like raiden etc but they definitely are stronger than focalors, nahida etc. so they are at least around mid-high archon level.

Nahida doesn't know how to fight and I actually don't have any idea about Focalors, but a lot of people think that Harbingers can be stronger than archons like Raiden Shogun, which I really doubt. For example, Arlecchino looked like putting a lot more effort into the traveler than the Raiden Shogun did, based on the tiny cinematics we got in Inazuma.
@@no5428 focalors is featless so I’d naturally put the top harbingers above her since Capitano and dottore have feats. If Capitano has a second phase or form of some sort/Mavuika ends up being a lot stronger than what we currently know as. (Which is possible based off leaks but won’t get into that for obvious reasons lmao) then maybe he can be upscaled higher. But them even being mid-high archon level is still impressive in its own right. Arlecchino also fought a stronger traveller and other combatants but yeah, raiden was definitely not giving it her all whatsoever
Mualani really shows her closeness with Kachina with this act. Also, I'm surprised I didn't realized that Mualani's va is the same as Mona in Persona 5
it might be too early to say it but this aq doesn't really feel that serious after what we experienced in fontaine, it's kinda underwhelming. hopefully the next acts will change my opinion.

I’m just appreciating the fact that we’re getting straight into the meat of the story instead of being dripfed. It feels like the ramp-up is going to feel much more natural, similar to the Sumeru storyline. But I do hope they can pull it off.
@@rakesh0759 Chances are we will be fighting the Fire dragon (or part of it) to regain the fire elements of Natland at the end of 5.3 with traveller being a key participant (to earn their reputation in order to be forged a new ancient name and to obtain fire element, so that their strength is not "given" as mentioned at the beginning of Act 1 by Kachina), and unlike Neuvillette it will be Abyss affected, so fasten your seatbelt...later, things are yet to develop.

Right, the last couple (ALL, so far) archons we've encountered are a bard who doesn't give two shits about his Godhood, retired God who signed some sort of NDA and intends to stay away from all the fight and let his people do all the work, one who locked herself away and let a puppet rule her nation, a literal CHILD, an ACTRESS minus focalors i guess who kinda offed herself to save her people, then when we get to see a powerful archon people just idk
Tbf at that point they alr achived victory so they would think that she would be fine and that she would be back right after the ceremony thing ( which well didnt go well lol )
The way Mualani talks about Kachina in the Speeker's Chamber and the little animation with Kachina humming the Ode, I always have to cry just a little bit. I really love their relationship and I really love Kachina, she's such a good little Warrior, strong, determined, brave yet very humble still. 1:50:30 She said "older than the 'position' of the Pyro Archon itself". My guess is, she didn't mean older Archons, but beings older than the constitution which is the Archons. She is propably either speaking about the Seven Sovereigns or the Dragon King, folks from before the Archon war, or the primordial residents of Celestia.
I think Iansan is very overshadowed because she isn’t released in this patch yet, which is upsetting for sure 😭 But because previously Lyney and Lynette were released in this first patch of Fontaine they took the spotlight for the first act of the Archon Quest which makes sense. It was a great entry to introduce the Teyvat Travail characters that have been hyped up for so long. I guess we have to wait for Iansan to take the spotlight soon, like with Cyno. He didn’t even appear in the first act of Sumeru until he was released, which then gave him more focus. I can’t wait to see Iansan shine!

You can really feel the juxtaposition of narrative VS gameplay, where clearly there's parts where they WANT you to be able to use these cool new characters as Trial versions in the story. But the characters literally don't exist in the game yet. Which is such a weird problem to have because it's a live service title. And it's not like they're expected to go back and "fix" their absence once the characters are finally added either. It's just jarring.

ima call it now but I think Mavukia is a phoenix and later on she'll sacrifice herself and be reborn, becoming more powerful against the Abyss therefore also giving up the Gnosis

@@soulstealer5625that is a different situation entirely. Furina was only kind of the hydro archon, and the real one is... mostly featless. In any case, he now has the power he already had as a dragon plus the hydro archons power. Right now hes probably canonically the strongest character we have seen on screen.
The genshin community really like hyping up the villains and just ignoring the fact that allies can also be strong , mauvika is not only obviously a very strong archon but also has the gnosis so her winning over capitano is really just not surprising at all. not to mention how capitano is also supposed to be a human just like how mauvika was also one so it’s really just not surprising at all.
He's only comparable in strength to the gods. That doesn't mean he's stronger than her. He may be ranked 1 of the Fatui Harbingers, but a God of War is a God of War. I am not surprised at all that she won. If anything, I expected it.
All harbingers have a delusion, it's like a ceremonial gift from the Tsaritsa when they become a harbinger, we just don't see his yet ( I think the cryo comes from his delusion ) and he have some abyssal-ish aura too which is weird. He is a honorable man so of course he doesn't fight someone that isn't in is best condition, also he is very powerful ( Mavuika hit him with a punch at full power and he only got injured, and got up pretty much instantly to continue the fight ). People missed that he very point of the fight scene is to show 1 - Mavuika is one of the strongest archon, I mean her power comes from Xbalanque who kill the pyro dragon and use the power of Ronova, the shining shade of death, so all pyro archons have a bit of Ronova's power ( which is insane ) 2 - Capitano is an absolute monster of a human for being toe to toe with her and ended in a draw - both decide to withdraw for now - while not being full powered ( no use of delusion/second phase stuff and certain thing points that he is sick - the phrase "you don't have much time" means in the orignal language he's kinda on a death bed ).

Nahida was being vague when she said the top 3 Harbingers was as strong as gods but never clarify which specific gods. there are tons of gods all over teyvat including the dead ones. Osial and his wife are gods, Havria was a god, Guizhong was a god and dont forget the gods from Sumeru. Nahida is connected to the Irmunsul. she can literally mean anyone but never specifically mean the Archons. Capitano's fight against Mavuika is a clear indication that he's not as strong as the other Archons. sorry to say, Ei from her second story would destroy Capitano if he struggled that much against a weakened Mavuika that sacrificed most of her powers to the Sacred Flames over the centuries. Nahida and Zhongli with all their crazy hax would give the same result.
I agree. The harbingers are all so powerful and cool, but it's time to acknowledge that they have been overrated and over hyped all this time. There are a lot more powerful beings than them in Teyvat. The sovereigns, the archons, id say even the witches of the hexenzirkel is a lot more powerful than them.
The fraud comments toward Capitano are so funny and completely inaccurate. The guy was on equal footing with a fully powered archon and was only dragged from the fight because of an outside interference. Mavuika is no slouch either, she’s absolutely on the upper echelon of archon strength. (Billboard outside the stadium states Mavuika accidentally destroys volcanos/mountains when training and the people of natlan mistake it for earthquakes, shattered the barrier between the night kingdom and the real world alone.) Capitano tanked one of those punches and showed the capability to still be able to continue battle. Her being a human is an awful argument as even a nation comprised of only humans caught the attention of Celestia. And what about people like rhinedottir who are only human yet she nearly destroyed teyvat inadvertently. This is also all under the assumption Capitano doesn’t have a transformation of some kind. (Which he more than likely does.) he’s far from a fraud.

It didn't seem to me like Capitano *did* lose. He took an injury, but was specifically 'rescued' before he could strike back. She fought him to essentially a standstill.
No matter how human a person is. Once he/she possesses the power of an archon, she/he is supposed to be stronger than a fatui (maybe except Venti). Let alone the god of war. If the ranked 1st fatui is stronger than an archon then why must they serve the archon of cryo?
It's probaly because the Fatui in general and the Tsaritsa are on the same path. Not because who are strong and weak. We have neuvilette without his authority still was stronger then archon furina but he still served under her until furina step down of her archonhood.
Why do people so surprise about Capitano losing the fight to Mavuika? She is an Archon worshiped directly by her people (And as stated by Venti, the more worship the Archon receives, the more powerful it is), and just because Nahida said that the three top Fatui Harbingers has power equivalent to GODS (Not Archons.. gods, Guoba is a god... Andrius too...) doesnt mean that they cant lose. I mean... if that was the case why send Childe and Signora to bargain the Geo Gnosis with Zhongli... Why not Capitano and Colombina, wipe the floor with the Old Morax and call it a day?
Because shockingly enough, A nation prefers to have their way without turning this into a full fledged war. If it’s a contract that’s all it takes then that’s a good deal for a gnosis. Also, don’t act like Childe didn’t try to forcefully take away the gnosis via the summoning of osial.
But there comes reason to rather then fight strongest and most experienced archon they rather have a bargain with him, and i be honest from what we know about Zhongli, even of all battle oriented harbingers attacked Zhongli non of them could harm him, so bargain was beter choice to them. Remember having Zhongli as an enemy is a bad thing and his gnosis only game him ability to create Mora, so he is strong even without it.
@@saisame7975 the most experienced and seasoned warrior is out of his prime to the point where he needed 2 elements traveler’s help to handle Azdaha who is said to be similiar in strenght to Zhongli. At this point Zhongli loses to Ei, Arlechinno and even fontain foul legacy Childe. I’ll give you one thing, there indeed was no Harbinger AVAILABLE to Beat Zhongli. Liyue Childe is 100 times more weaker than His Fontain counterpart. At this point he would even lose to xiao. And Signora is only slightly stronger than Childe.

She is no Nahida or Venti, weakening for centuries of disbelief (In case of Venti, I believe he fake his own weakness because reasons). The fact that she is human, doesnt mean too much. She is a human that ascended to Godhood and was appointed to the Pyro Throne by the Heavenly Principles. She is not a ordinary jane doe. The game had been stated that humans with visions has the power to face gods and ascend to godhood. Now imagine a human that not only did that, but was choose to be the Archon that embodied the IDEAL of WAR. Seriosly, I dont understand why people are shocked by the fact that a lackey of Tsaritsa could lose (and was not a easy fight to her tho) to an Archon like Mavuika.
Unfortunately voice actors aren't always given the visuals for the scene during recording, just the dialogue text. iirc they usually show sketches for the fully rendered animated cutscenes tho
Honestly, I kinda feel like it fits her character. She still has a bubbly personality, but it’s not so in your face that it becomes trope-like. She’s still level headed, confident, and has a flaming passion to protect her loved ones. She’s still of course light hearted & cheerfully easygoing, but she acts like a big sister. It’s pretty heartwarming imo. But you’re entitled to your opinion, this is merely my perspective.

Capitano was always told to be righteous so not surprising he chose not to fight. Besides if he would be that unsure about his own powers I doubt he wouldn't use this opportunity, + there was no second form. There is also a theory that Capitano probably has some sorta Abyssal AIDS like that NPC gal we met before. Add to that Mavuikas words about strange presence within him, Oloruns words about him "not having much time" + the video on official GI channel says in description "Captains words and CONDITION left more questions". It would align perfectly with his goal in Natlan; he wants to become new Pyro Archon and be revived properly like Mavuika to get rid off the Abyssal corrosion. It would also go perfectly well if instead of that MC would get the Gnosis this time, healed the Captain (like there is NO WAY we will only use that ability once) and not only would they have a trade with the Tsaritsa (her audience in exchange for Pyro Gnosis) but also as a "thank you" for healing their strongest Harbinger they would be more welcomed in Snezhnaya, next region. So if that was cancer patient Capitano imagine him in his prime
1:51:41 it's not pride, but a sense of Honor. If you ever seen Mystic Force Power Rangers, he gives serious Koragg vibes, being a warrior of evil but still holding honor. Even his line in "A Winter Night's Lazlo" shows this sentiment: "Thought her methods tarnished her honor, Louafaulter's (Singora) sacrifice is a great pity...her loss will not hinder our progress." This references her actions of ambushing Venti and The Traveller in Mondstat as well as her espionage in both Liyue and Inazuma.

I actually agree with Capitano decision to not go and take the gnosis while she was weak because for a man who is the first ranked of the fatui the strongest member and the one who has been looked up for it would be a cowardice act for him and a true warrior always fights with the full strength in a fair and square fight

I mean...Capitano fell to his knee and had a visible "injury" on his chest/shoulder area...Mavuika was still on her feet with no visible injury...just cause you match someone in combat strength doesn't mean that its a tie, moreso that they kept the fight balanced in terms of strength
“matching” a person in combat doesn’t indicate the results of a battle, it means the strength levels of the two parties are evenly balanced. chill out.
The consciousness of a weakened Mavuika was able to literally punch through the abyss and save the group. She did this with the help of the things she collected from her people throughout the years, the very same people who worshipped her as an archon and put their beliefs on her. What is so surprising with her beating Capitano? I don't get it. She's an active archon, not like the rest of them who were already in retirement.
Capitano is not human. He literally has dragon scales for armour. Not only that he doesnt wield a vision or delusion. It would be impossible for him to use elemental powers without being a soverign. Unless he was human and is a traveler from a different world like aether.

Prior events with archons have shifted it massively in the Archon's favor, so having something more even makes it a bit jarring at first(it also establishes the Fatui of capable of more than just trickery in the struggle against the Heavenly Principles)
@@m.v.j6804 no, in Zhongli final ascension line he says “After letting go of my Gnosis, I never expected to see a day like this again. Thank you, friend” Azdaha also sense that Zhongli is no longer the geo archon after giving away the gnosis. It’s also heavily implied that if Liyue couldn’t seal osial without Zhongli help, he would’ve kept the geo gnosis.

i have a theory that the abyss sibling used irminsul to make us apart of teyvat and the abyss which is why we can cleanse the abyss we have the power of teyvat while our sibling has the power of the abyss by claiming elements at the statues of the seven we gain the power of teyvat and we will have to fight our abyss sibling a power of abyss vs the power of teyvat and the archons will lend the power the gnosis will be our tools and in the end we will use the power of teyvat to cleanse the world of the abyss. {this is entirely a theory tho dont take any of this as cannon or spoilers}
Istg this comment section. Capitano went up against Mavuika WHILE SHE STILL HAD HER GNOSIS. He literally interrupted her BEFORE she could place it in the Scared Flame. So he went up against a fully powered archon, in his „normal“ form, and only sustained a relatively small injury, given that he was ready to keep fighting when he was interrupted by the outside interference of probably Olorun. No, he’s not under the Tsaritsa because she’s stronger - it’s literally said in the game that the Harbingers all have their own plans and goals. Those goals just currently align with the Tsaritsa‘s plans. Not to mention that Kinich describes them as evenly matched. Can we just enjoy the story without stupid power scaling discussions when we don’t even have all the facts yet?
On a side note, I think the Abyssal corrosion theory for Capitano is really interesting - and it would make sense in the context of the fight scene: He goes down after being hit with that „fire punch“, so the heat of that could accelerate his condition, just like the hot springs with Atea.
@@m.v.j6804 Afaik, it allows archons to use the well of power that exists in Celestia or something like that - it might be either way. My main point was that at temporarily weakens an archon to remove their Gnosis, as we've seen with Venti, but Mavuika was not impeded in any way during the fight, since she still had the Gnosis during it.
My reasoning for her beating capitano was like you said: First was no delusion. Second was like nahida said it’s not based on an archon ruling their nation that gives power but the peoples faith in their archon. Shown through part 1 of the quest EVERYONE in natlan has FULL faith in their archon and their abilities which even though she was a human she still has archonhood as they said so she still gets the archon buffs. And lastly is because she is Murata. She is the god of war for a reason so I’d except her to be stronger then a majority of archons when it comes to combat skills and powers. As the god of war and the fact even people in natlan say that they pick their archon over their strength in the pilgrimage and Mauvika had a landslide win over 500 years ago and no one’s compared since then. Sooo…that’s why I believe she won but she was still exhausted afterwards because yes she gets archonhood buffs, but she still has the downsides of a human such as easier exhaustion and aging like they said. The archon is still human and not immortal like others. She just ages slower and is as strong as an archon.
honestly, to me Mavuika and Ei is the strongest archons. Venti is.. well he is venti, Zonghli is technically everyone says he is the strongest archcon but idrk, we didn't see much fighting from his side so🛂

Capitano didn't lose, he was about to land another blow until the someone from the masters of the night wind took him away, Capitano is also not a reckless type of person and calculates his strategies efficiently. Not to mention the Pyro Archon used her full strength against him.
He was the only one injured and fell to his knee, she was perfectly fine and standing up, yes he was ready to keep fighting but to fall down and hold onto your injury it means that she fucked him up enough to have his allies worry
