Excellent example of playing to your outs. I think the most damage done in the video was at roughly 38:25 where lethal was dealt to Blake's pride and accomplishments.

34:55 Auras have a timestamp when they enchant a permanent. With that in mind, when you remove the aura, the enchanted permanent keeps the last informations it had, so if you had Frodo upgraded, then he keeps all the upgrades. Good game nontheless.

Intuitively, that makes sense. Frodo's ability is Frodo is a... while Kenrith's transformation is Frodo is am elk. Neither of those things makes a new Fordo (he doesn't get summoning sickness again for example). Once Frodo is no longer an elk, he's still whatever he was before elkhood.

@@hellproof2379 The rest of the continuous effects don't disappear! It's just that the "loses all abilities" effect overwrites them. As soon as that effect ends (because the Transformation is removed), the remaining effects apply once again. (In fact, they never stop applying; it's just that they're overwritten by the Transformation, because the Transformation entered later and they're all in the same layer.)

This is the only EDH content I'm watching, I've tried a bunch throughout the years but none other is as fun as this one and I still get to see some amazing gameplay and cool combos while being entertained. I love how you balance it so good. Keep up the great work CovertGoCrew!

The tragedy is that if Ben had kept his Triumph instead of using it against Blake and Shae, he would have won, since the Golden Throne doesn't remove poison counters and you still die after it changes your life to 1. On the other hand, it's hard not to kill Shae with Triumph when the opportunity presents itself.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure what his goal was there. Made for a good episode, but gotta save the overkill cards for the moments that will end the game.

wow that's a great point! yeah i don't know why he used the Triumph since they were both dead regardless. But Ben represents the timmy gamer, he doesn't think too hard, just goes for the cool play. Although amassing a Google of squirrels is pretty impressive play! It still wasn't enough to win him the game! Besides Frodo winning the game after being tempted is such a HUGE epic moment that we love to see!

Amazing game. The sequencing and cards just played out perfectly for Gina. Using swords to gain two life to survive the one ring and then draw into everything she needed to pull that off was beyond epic.

If you die due to lethal damage, Golden Throne will save you. But if you have 10 or more poison counters, you still die as a state based effect.

Those very first mills are a perfect example of just why people dislike playing against mill so much. It isn’t so much that mill is particularly good and more that it just stops you from being able to play your deck the way you want to…. I personally would ALMOST rather my spells just get countered 😅

A creature with infect deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters and players in the form of poison counters (from infect rule text). Ring ETB gives protection from everything... lets say creatures specifically in this case... then Creatures don't deal damage to her and so she doesn't get the poison counters. so no infect loss
