Me too. Brought back instant croup memories (younger brother who was hospitalized and son who was treated in hospital)… scary for patient and patient parents. Relieved he’s feeling better. Amazing footage of the whales 🐋💙
This episode was gorgeous!! lots of love from landlocked tennessee ♥ ♥ ♥ ps. I'm NOT a doctor, but that one cough from Lenny was unmistakable: Croup ! I grew up with it. It's mostly harmless, just watch he's able to breathe. :) My mom always took me out in to cold air (in the winter) or in to the bathroom with lots of steam from a hot shower to help clear up the airways. Sorry he's going through that, poor thing; it probably won't be the last time.
I love you guys and really appreciate you showing the bad sides as well. But I have to say that seeing some of the footage of sick Lenny made me a bit uncomfortable. I kept thinking "it's ok, you can put down the camera now. You don't have to worry about filming when your kid is so sick".
WOW that was an amazing episode guys one of my all time favourites for sure, enjoyed every second of it. The filming and editing was👌🏼. The remote North West really is one of the most pristine and wild places in the world, the amount of sea life is pretty mind blowing 🐟🐳!

That cough is not a sound any parent wants to hear, Seen lots of people saying about a steamy room (spent many hours in a bathroom with the shower on to steam it up lol) but once it gets to poor Lenny's stage, hospital/steroids is the only way. Absolutely loved the shots under water, amazing video as always.

My concern is Lenny. I have actually paused your video to write this. (I can't wait to finish watching the video). My son had 'croup' at about the same age as Lenny. It scared the crap out of me. He then quickly became 'asthmatic' at age 3. Very dangerous thing. You can die or be hospitalized for it. I would get a nebulizer and be ready to use it if he develops asthma. Also an oxygen meter that you can check on his finger is helpful as well. I suspect Lenny may be alergic to (things), and once you identify them, he may have better health. Figuring it all out takes patience, but Lenny is worth it. My son out grew his asthma at 14, and went on to be in the military. He has never had a problem since. Good luck. I know parenting is difficult at times, but SO worth it!!
I wish I could focus on how magnificent the whales were but, my heart is breaking for Lenny. I can't stand to see him so ill. I'm so glad you got him to the hospital ASAP. I hope he got well quickly. 🙏👣

Family doctor here: the breathing was sounding very bad. The minute a kid that small says he can't breathe, go to the hospital right away; otherwise you're just prolonging his suffering or worse. Btw it has nothing to do with anxiety or needing to calm down. I totally facepalmed while watching this, glad you eventually took him
At the very start of the video when she explained that he was ill and staying home, he coughed and I thought “that sounds like croup.” Hopefully they now know what to watch for and can act more quickly.
Both of my kids got this when they were the same age roughly as Lenny. Turning a hot shower on in a closed bathroom that can generate steam can help in short term before steroids. We always thought the cough sounded like a seal. Very scary as parents. Glad to see all is well.
Came in to say this. Lenny might get croup/viral asthma with every cold while he's young (if you're unlucky). Worth having some prednisalone (long life) on hand when you're travelling.
Yes I agree, I had croup, then came the asthma. You definitely need prednisone on hand, especially as lenny has acute allergies, they generally become asthmatics. Might need to see a paediatric respiratory doctor. You absolutely would be in serious trouble if this happens at sea without any medications. Best of luck. Don't forget to buy some Vicks vapor rub.
Many emergencies with my little ones, I remember the fear! One word of advice; if you have a tot that is laying down on their own, then that’s a MAJOR sign, also saying they can’t breath without being prompted is an EMERGENCY 🚨 Thanks for sharing, I’m sure it can’t be easy to listen to us older parents! 🤗
What amazing footage! I’m homeschooling my kids and we are studying Marine life right now and I can’t wait to show them your video! My youngest was a chronic croup guy too. Our doctor gave us a prescription for steroids so that we didn’t have to rush to the ER all the time. You should ask about it especially to have on your boat, it’s as important as an epi pen.
Every mom watching this immediately thought it sounded like croup when we heard that cough…. I have been there and it’s not fun. FYI if he gets it again which is very possible, put his head in the freezer and let him breath in that cold air. I courses the inflammation to go down super fast so they can breath.
I used to LOVE their videoes, but the last year or so I find them less and less personal, and more "corporated". This video had amazing scenes, yet I find myself bored thinking of other stuff. I'm currently watching old videos (for the third time , obsessed) And I'm in the ones in Bahamas when Lenny was a baby. THATS good and personal vlogging. Good songs with just the right vibe for them, simple scenes, cooking with elayna, swimming in the ocean, eating off land, good conversations, warm colors, tropical climate, the good life. It's just much more simple, yet soo much better. I feel like I'm there, like they're my good friends. And that's how you make faithful followers and paterons. Now I just feel like I'm watching a big corporate with people I don't know... I've been hoping it would get back to how it used to be

I once babysat my brother's young girl twins when he spent a long weekend abroad with his wife. Me and my girlfriend had been given a long list of do's and don'ts. On one of those days they both got a Liga cake in the afternoon, which the eldest choked on. It took a very long time, which made me think she could not get out. I instinctively held her upside down by her legs, and told my girlfriend to pat her back and even 'beat' it. Thank goodness it worked, and turned into crying, which was a very liberating sound. Moral of this story: No greater responsibility than that of another one's little child... Glad Lenny is doing well!
After seeing how difficult it was for you guys to take a simple camping trip with 2 youngsters, I have been wondering how on Earth you guys are going to manage living on a freaking trimaran filming 24/7, with a nanny on board to. A trimaran?? I have a feeling that if you guys had already experienced how difficult 2 kids are compared to 1, a different boat may have been selected. You guys still rock though, and I will watch the videos regardless.

Our youngest son had to be hospitalized for several days with bronchiolitis, and just hearing him cough and gasp to get air haunts me.... and every time he gets sick or coughs now, I have flashbacks. Feel better little guy, and hang in there, mum and dad!
Hi neighbours, I know you will be well and truly gone by now from Exmouth, but I live behind that house you were staying at. I could hear you 2 talking and laughing, can recognise Riley's voice anytime and Lenny crying. I did think about putting my head over the fence to say hi, but I figure you get this stuff all the time. I have been following your adventure from the beginning and still remember the time Riley invited you Elayna to his yacht and you said to yourself, hahahaha, what a pickup line, come down to my yacht. But look what has happened, changed your life for ever. I hope you both enjoyed your time here in my little town of Exmouth, I feel it's got it all, great wildlife on land and sea, great weather, great people, a little remote, but that's the way we like it. I know this area backwards and as I'm a Rescue skipper with Exmouth Marine Rescue have been all over this area helping boaters out in there time of need. Also I hope Lenny is feeling a lot better and I'm sure he is, so good luck for the future and have fun back on La Vagabonde.

Who's the doctor? Nothing today is "just a cold", it is just ends up appearing as a convenient answer so mom and dad's adventures don't stop. If a child is sick, they truly need their parent, it is that time then, to be one. Tested? Worried? Croup like cough, Lenny's health is as important as any of you. Just writing from 40 yrs of experience with raising mine and other peoples children. Lastly, feeling bad you left the guys behind, really dad, priorities that messed up? Yeah poor mom and dad feel so bad. Sad here

I was just grabbing my keyboard and mouse to say "WE CALL THAT THE CROUP !" 18:40 I watched the wales over and over. A bunch of males can be really unpredictable. I breed large animals and you have to be really careful, not in the wrong place a the wrong time.

For a week now named Cleo Smith abducted while camping with her family by the blowholes. Be on the lookout for her and please be careful. Also please check footage.. She's a 4 year old little girl.
Hopefully not too many more concerning health issues for Lenny. Otherwise you may not be able to live the next stage of your life - truly as you, out on the water. No hospitals out there.

Incredible footage! I'm torn though. On the one hand the kids are insanely lucky to have such adventures parents but on the other hand they really need routine for their overall well being. Children tire easily and being constantly ripped out of their routine weakens their immune system. Keeping your family happy and healthy is a lot more important than keeping your viewers happy.
When I was expecting my second son, someone told me one child is one child, two children is 18 children. That first year was so hard. It did get a lot better after that first year. I'm not sure if they were easier to manage or I got better at managing them. Either way, I wouldn't have traded it for the world. You'll will get through this first year too.

You should never leave a child when he's sick like that with that croup of a cough and look how it escalated and if you would taking care of it while it was a little more minor he wouldn't have to go through that stuff in the emergency room Poor Lenny. Elena I remember in another video he had croup once children get that they tend to get it back the next time they get sick watch for the symptoms next time please Lenny seems sensitive to getting sick with colds. Just bc you have a sitter you should still think beyond yourselves. BALANCE is key in everything.
Poor Lenny! I’d highly recommending getting a script for steroids and carrying that with you at all times if you have a croupy kid. Otherwise what a beautiful video. Also - what kid of sharks were they?
Nobody wants to hear you complain about how hard having two kids is when you don't have regular jobs and your only job is to film yourselves on holiday while you're leaving your kids with a private nanny. There. Somebody had to say it for chrissakes...🤦. The diving and ocean footage was beautiful though! 👍
I'm old school... Mommy and daddy should never have left him at home to go fishing... At least 1 of you should have stayed, to be with Lenni and a new born baby does not need to be on a boat out at sea.. With that boat banging into the surf doesn't do him any good. T.H.I.S. It's not old school & you're not an old fart. It's an important part of parenting...taking care of & being there when your child is sick. I could tell at the beginning, she was worried, but went anyways. Please, at least one parent stay home when your child is feverishly sick. They need you.
As a mother of two, I say…stop with your judgement, please. Mothers (and fathers) already often feel guilty. Lenny wasn’t alone. He was with a responsible caregiver. And it all worked out. How great Lenny will learn there are multiple people in the world who care for him. ❤️
