Personally I don't like her music because it's too generic and anonymous but yeah, it's likeable and the videos are really well done. I love how she cheats on her boyfriend, then comes out with multiple videos saying that she has no support. Literally it's one thing to say you're sad, it's one thing to say your breakup, rappers' deaths, maybe even heavy scrutiny from all over the world is affecting your mental health but it's so OBVIOUS she just realized her content was getting stale and she needed to pander even harder to the same people who are fans of X, Billie, etc. People who have depression or at least are too young to change their shitty lives. I cannot excuse using her millions to try and have the influence over kids that the rappers (who she got rich off of, especially after they died) she'd react to would have. It's nothing but greed, lies, bullshit. Imagine being Lael around mid-late 2018, you've got all these supporters who feel a genuine connection to you, simply because you made them believe you have a connection to the same music they like. Now what would you do? Entertain the audience further, keep being yourself and try new things? Or completely manipulate and pander your way to becoming the second coming of X, Billie, Peep, etc? Only minus the good actual original and personable lyrics, minus anything that makes those people stand out, nope, just the depression, crazy theatrics, pulling your audience back and forth trying to guess your situation, your mind state, genuinely worrying about you and meanwhile you've got the comfiest beds, most profitable connections & biggest d*cks that any relatively unproven Canadian girl could choose from. I could name thousands of different ways people are suffering with differing severities while being completely alone or stuck in abusive/toxic situations. There are people dealing with things in their lives some worse than others who can say their life sucks but are still trying their best to have a better future. I'm dealing with severe depression myself and I often think my life sucks but I know there are people who have it worse than I do, so I'm trying my best to make my own future better. But then to say your life sucks when your career is just getting started and claiming you have no support when there were people supporting you even while you vanished for months? It's a huge slap in the face. You don't sell us a sob story or slander other creators while trying to promote yourself. She already had everything going for her but ruined it when she let it get to her head. For real how do you mess up this badly.

Wow... just wow... Lael Hansen really destroyed her career in one fell swoop. Sure, we often say that someone destroys their career with one wrong move but that's not always the case. Sometimes they destroy their career in several missteps. But her saying that Lil Naz X sold his soul to the devil was on another level of ignorant rarely seen. Like... did she stop and think for one second that saying something like that could tank her career before it really got anywhere? Lil' Nas X is a gay rapper. He's already working an uphill battle because in the black community and the rap game being openly gay is EXTREMELY frowned upon. Sure there have been times when a black gay rapper was featured in something: in a skit on MadTV with Phil LaMarr, which is a comedy skit show, and in an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit where a rapper's boyfriend was murdered BECAUSE the rapper being gay wasn't well known and being outed was seen as the worst possible thing (I believe that was the show but I could be wrong). At any rate, a gay rapper is usually the butt of a joke (seriously no pun intended) or seen as wrong for being who they are.
