This car is absolutely incredible. I mean it has luxury features I can't even think of like the door closing trick.

I just got an EQS 580 and I'm very pleasantly surprised by how many of these features are also present on my vehicle. Since I'm childless, I didn't get the backseat equipment but this is where the Maybach is superior in any event. No wineglass stabilizers LOL. This is one gorgeous car.

I think you should have chosen a V12 engine, that would be super smooth. There used to be a S600 that was truly awesome and I think they did a version with a longer wheelbase. You can’t really find much better than these, the downside is after being in one of these everything else seems cheap.

Mercedes Maybach is another level

As someone with a herniated lumbar disc that causes severe nerve pain for weeks, this seat adjustment feature is spectacular.

I've seen this exact car around Toronto a couple of times this summer. It is a treat to see each time.

i remember when i was working for Mercedes in the Alabama plant and they had these being made in the room next door for the C class it was really a treat to sit in and drive. Did not know they were in this price range

After watching like 10 reviews to find the best luxury car, this was the best review I've seen so far. Not pretentious and showcased everything nicely. I'm between this and the G90.

The current interest rate is 4.75%. (8th rate hike since March last year) My retirement portfolio has suffered greatly over the past few years with inflation over 7% and mortgage rates above 7.5%, so my issue is how senior persons can retire and survive in such a volatile climate. Clearly, I'm not in it for the long haul just yet.

Nice trip. It was 1998 when I first heard the name "Maybach" used on a car as opposed to an aircraft engine. I was hired to manage the production of an industrial documentary motion picture (not video) on the first-gen mini-limousine, the Model 57. The German production company shipped a pre-production vehicle to Miami, Florida in order to shoot film against our gorgeous water views and puffy cumulus clouds. That damned car refused to work as planned. The entire trunk was taken up with a bunch of computers, terminals, test equipment and tools. It drove beautifully--when it started. We had to tow it using a low-boy trailer in several shots. We got to shut down the Rickenbacker Causeway in order to accomplish the aerial shots using a helicopter, and then using the police to escort that beast to make a U-turn. There was a complete platoon of technicians sent from Germany that were in charge of every detail: the leather guys, the wood paneling guys, the paint and exterior guys, the lighting guys, the engine guys, the electronics guys. There were almost as many guys who were sent to make that car work as there were people on the film crew. Fortunately, all of the footage that was shot was MOS--silent footage, no sound. I'm sure that the audio tracks would have been ruined by shouted expletives whenever some part would fail. Loved the way the light controls for the the roof, the champagne cooler and the footrests worked. It took another year for them to work out the kinks in this car.

I have a 2024 SLE350 W4 and I like the assists, the stereo, and the camera's. They take a while to get used to, but, well worth the time. It is Interesting that the steering wheel is exactly like mine... Even has the same controls. I may get a Maybach just to say that I had it!!!

I splurged on a 2018 S560 when I retired and I love it. Has many of the same features though the back seat of this Maybach is a whole 'nother level! I presume the Maybach has the same TWIN-TURBO V-8 (didn't hear him mention the turbos) and I'm here to say it is SCARY quick (period) much less for a nearly 5,000# car. The other feature that I absolutely love is the driving assist. In stop and go traffic it just follows the car in front starting and stopping as needed and staying in lane. Very much relieves the annoyance of stop and go. Same feature is great out on the highway for long open roads; just need to touch the steering wheel every minute or so (and it reminds you) or it will slowly roll to a stop. They want to keep the driver awake! Also cruise control uses brakes going down the hills so it truly holds speed. Very nice. Don't know if the Maybach has it but I can push a button to get an extra inch of ground clearance if needed. I call it "Stump Jumper" mode what with the 4 wheel drive! And the styling is absolutely classic. Save your pennies and take the splash if you like land-yachts.

I just wanted to appreciate the production of the review as a whole. Perfectly executed, reminiscent of some prime Top Gear montage 👏👏

What's missing are the front fender mounted indicator lights that the driver could see to indicate that the turn signal was on, the high beams are on and that the headlights are on. Green, amber and blue in color. They were on 2 buicks I owned and I liked them.

I was given the opportunity to drive this exact car and it was quite the experience. Both as passenger in the rear and pilot. Just an amazing machine.

it still amazes me how people are amazed at how an expensive car is so luxurious

The only thing Mercedes needs to do to make it the perfect car-like RR-is to have the screens in the rear to disappear into the back of the front seats. As to the big screen in front, my first thought was to have it go somewhere when not in use, but when I saw it from a side view, I then realized that is was part of the center display.

One thing Mercedes does do very well, like Apple, are the interface graphics and fonts and layout. Makes it very easy and effortless to use.

When I saw that door button mounted on the headliner I was like "what rich person wants to lift their hand to close a door" but you made it all better with the hand motion.

I like how they report fuel economy in Volume / Distance rather than Distance / Volume. Much more practical number. (btw this is 15 mpg city, 24 mpg highway)

A neighbor of mine has the V12 S600 Maybach and it's one of the nicest cars in the area - at least from the luxury cars. The guy parks his car on the street though. Never understood why someone would do that with a car that costs more than an average house.

I’m surprised the vents aren’t electronically controlled on a car like this. There’s cameras all over the car inside, which could check to see the occupants face and have the option to set the vents to blow on the face with the press of a button instead of trying to adjust them manually. Now that would be something new and cool. Btw, you forgot to mention “snort space” for the trays 🤑
