This is one of most wonderful Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) trees that I've ever come across and I wanted to share it with everyone! This incredible tree is living behind the scenes at Kew Gardens and is a fascinating specimen.
During the video I talk a little bit about this particular tree and briefly explain some of the interesting characteristics of Horse chestnut flowers.
I'm always very grateful to come across trees such as this one and its a pleasure to share it with you. I hope I managed to capture the beauty of this tree and the wonderful atmosphere when standing underneath its vast canopy.
I highly recommend the book Alan Mitchell's Trees of Britain which I mentioned in the video for anyone wishing to learn more about a wide range of trees found in the UK!

Magnificent old tree. I’ve seen other species that may have branches root over time, oaks, willows. I’ve never seen a Chestnut do this. ~ You might enjoy a playlist I collated titled The Trees and Forest #2. It covers old trees and the trees of Great Britain. It’s available on my homepage.

Like a secret hideaway, the light through the trees is breathtaking, what I wouldn't do to be there now with a glass of Pimms! Stay safe and thank you for the video.

Damn, I just planted one of these in an area that's not too big. I think I just remove it now, as I had no idea they get so huge
