Ted Covington starts by discussing his preferred pistol and rifle and then goes on recall some of his most favorite moonlight requisitions. Ted talks about some of the more lighthearted moments during war as he recalls a Supply Sergeant that had a knack for acquiring supplies unofficially. He goes on to reminisce on how the GIs were very crafty when it came to fixing and commandeering Government Issue items.

About the Veteran: Major Edmund 'Ted' Covington, Jr. served with the US Army in the 1st Cavalry Division, 61st Field Artillery Battalion, during World War II. He was stationed in the Pacific Theater fighting the Japanese Army during the war. His service spanned many campaigns including New Guinea, the Admiralty Islands, Leyte, the Philippines, and the Army of Occupation in Japan. He would earn 2 Bronze Stars with Oakleaf Cluster as well as 2 Air Medals during his service.

My dad told me about people making off with your jeep when you parked it. They were easy to "Hot wire" and start without the key. Some the jeep drivers would take the rotor out of the distributor the prevent theft. The other guys started carrying ignition rotors in their pockets.
