X's Adventures in Minecraft was basically the first great let's play in survival. X, was there just after Paul Soares Jr., with ups and downs on the content, since he never went for focusing on having a RU-vid career. He started a brand new world recently, mostly blind from several updates since he last played, which is funny how clueless one the OGs can be in current MC. Etho was also way back when first with his ideas like the boat dispenser system, but his survival let's play is damn old also. Not to mention him and the others that were in Mindcrack and Hermitcraft, many started in SSP.

You're right. MindCrack Season 1 was Guude's singleplayer world. Season 2 onwards was SMP. Most gave up on their SSP series when they joined MindCrack.

I'm SO glad Stampy's lovely world is STILL going today. Words simply cannot explain the joy those words bring me. Man sorta molded me into the person I am today and I'm like actually tearing up writing this. It's nice to know that that part of your childhood is still there, surviving and thriving even after everything that's happened.

@@PurpleBroadcast I had stopped watching him back in 2013 due to the fact that I didn't have internet access because my family had become poor. I only just got internet back at my house last August and I simply thought that Stampy had stopped the series and quit RU-vid, plus this video reminded me of that and so I'm just now getting to know that it had been going all that time.

Paulsoaresjr was one of the first RU-vidrs I ever watched back around 2013, he was the reason I not only got Minecraft but he was also the reason I created a steam account to play Craft The World and Dig or Die. I will always remember his series that he made around that time like his legend of hoodie series, survive and thrive, and man vs minecraft.

I remember as a kid, I loved watching Dartron. He was really the only minecraft youtuber who did a series with the "Digimobs" mod. I was obsessed back in the day, and I even got featured on a "question of the day" sort of thing (on my mom's account, of course, haha) Last time I checked on his channel, he got into a motorcycle accident. I hope he's gotten better since then. Dartron, I know you aren't ever gonna see this, but, thanks for the childhood

I'm surprised you didn't get any of the Creatures worlds. They were huge. My personal favorite old Miencraft series belongs to Bananapielord. His Minecraft Alpha Let's Play was so influential to me growing up, much to my detriment but I love it regardless.

Other nostalgic worlds for me personally that may not be well known but I'm sure others would find them so - Docm77's Minecraft World Tour (multiple worlds) - MindCrack Seasons 3, 4 and 5 - Panda4994's Survival (aka The Power Of Snow) - ZipKrowd Season 1 & 2 - Xisumavoid's World (pre-HermitCraft SSP) - The Pixel Sun Server (small RU-vidr SMP from 2012-13, Kwebbelkop and CallMeCarson played on it before they became hugely famous)

awesome video, man. tobuscus is probably my favorite youtuber to date, regardless of the drama he's been in throughout the years. completely disassociating him from the content alone leaves for a really upbeat, witty & entertaining singleplayer playthrough of the game. there's been many great minecraft series featuring multiple people but i think toby's singleplayer series is the top of its genre. nothing beats hearing him talk to himself, he was for sure the most entertaining person to produce content on his own at that time.

Out of all the classic Minecraft RU-vidrs, I hear Coestar talked about the least, which is a shame because he was my introduction to Minecraft. Kind of. I had heard about the game through 2010 and early 2011, and around mid-2011, I decided to check out the website. Back then, they had several introductory/tutorial videos from YTers on the main page, and I clicked them just to see what the game was about. One of them was by Coestar. I immediately got hooked on Coe's Quest, spiraling into a deeper interest in Minecraft that's remained for the past twelve years. So, yeah, in short, Coestar and Coe's Quest is the most nostalgic (former) Minecraft RU-vidr for me, and I wish he would be referenced more.

seriously though, I know I didn't watch many let's plays back in the day. I never even really watched moonquest. The most I watched of the minecraft let's plays is really just one of the toby games videos. I specifically remember him in a typical narrow stairway dug into the ground, and he was trying to dig his way back up to the surface while on the last tiny bits of health on his pickaxe. What I did watch a lot of back then however were redstone contraptions, music videos especially, and the occasional mod showcase. I specifically remember finding out about moonquest because they had the portal gun mod as part of their modpack. also on the note of those guys, diggy diggy hole, loved that song. The giant megaspeakers blasting the music to all the other dwarves as they diggy diggy holed. It was good stuff. I'll never forget those songs. "where the hell are these mushroom biomes" the captain sparklze songs of course, but then the less well known ones, like "I'll bake a cake," "I'll make some cake," "Enderman,"... There were a lot of songs just about cake, actually. Not sure why that was. I could go on for hours just listing the different minecraft songs I used to listen to as a kid. Those things were my jam. I miss those days.
