After growing up in a Christian community, it’s hilarious to see Jordan’s takes in the Bible. He’s actually going in with an open mind and trying to learn from the book, whereas most people just write it off or treat it like gospel
@@Knivess0 absolutely, i grew up in a christian school and everyone disliked anything to do with god because of it. Only after we left some of us started geting into it on our own
@@Knivess0 you’re definitely right. Ironically the most religious people I know are ones that fell into it later in life, and those who are not religious at all are the ones that were forced into it. Those are more exceptions than the norm, but the extreme pro and anti religion people definitely come from those environments
@@vertx6186 It seems like that's the way it goes in every religious community. I grew up JW, and there were only a small percentage of kids that stuck with it the entire way through to adulthood. Nearly everyone had a period where they stopped and just lived like anyone else. Most come back to it when they can make the choice fully on their own without parents involved. Some don't.
Just because someone finds a problem in the bible doesn't mean they aren't open to it. I guarantee there are far more open-minded people than you think.
i really like the editing on this video especially the loading part where you show snippets of the in between that would usually be cut edits like that always make the video feel more complete and personal
Christian here, so cool that you’re reading the Bible! I really like hearing the perspective of someone going into it with fresh eyes, and you didn’t offend in the slightest. I think you’ll like Jesus’ parables, concise and approachable analogies with a lot of great takeaways!
Ah yes, the universally accepted best books for you: the Bible and diary of a wimpy kid💀 good on you for getting into some Bible lore! Greg Heffley is pretty cool, but Jesus is goated.
Jordan love the pod and glad to hear you like the Bible, I’ve got to recommend the show ‘The Chosen’ it’s incredible, basically like the New Testament as a story driven show
The biggest problem to me with adding final smash meter is that some final smashes like the spacies can be dodged with a buffered airdodge after the starting animation making them practically useless aside from niche recovery scenarios
In college I used to do the whole "dont do something too fun so you'll do your work" it never helped me not procrastinste, I just now was miserable in my procrastinating haha.
As a christian, it was very funny hearing poppt talk about the bible. Not offensive at all, just a genuine and funny reaction. Since you are starting with the new testament l can tell you that the first four books are pretty much the same. Its different deciples describing the same events, and at the same time targeting different groups of people (like the Romans, greeks etc). The old testament however, spcially genesis and the books at the start is way harder to read, since it is packed with many pedigrees, kings, etc. So l think you made a great choice starting with the new testament. The book of judges chapter 13-16and the book of Job are my recommendations if you read in the old testament for the story. Hope my comment is readable, english is not my strongest side. Much love from Sweden, and l hope you enjoy your reading!
6:25 this advice actually seems really useful, I put this into my therapy notes to show my therapist! I have adhd so that trap of getting invested in whatever you’re doing to relax in your break is one I fall into all the time.
Hot take ganondorf has the best final smash my reasoning 1 the swords stun the opponent meaning if you get hit by the swords you get hit with a ridiculously potent kill move 2 it’s big like the samus twins rob and mii gunners final smashes 3 like all of ganondofs moves it’s abnormally strong 4 it’s hard to react to thanks to it having a while before being fired and going off like a rocket when it is fired 5 it stage spikes if you time it right causing a tech situation you probably didn’t know existed 6 the thing does 40-70% I don’t know the exact number but it’s in this range 7 it 2 frames allowing you to catch ledge campers attempting to run you out of meter 8 and most importantly ITS ONE OF IF NOT THE MOST POTENT AND POWERFUL SPIKE IN THE GAME
@@6n-thorus945 I do agree Zelda’s is amazingly broken but compared to a spike that red screens at 0 at the top blast zone sorry bud but I think you are wrong
Just to add a perspective to the comments: atheist here. Used to be a Christian, but eventually got into researching the arguments and watching debates. After spending years learning and yes, reading the Bible, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just not a book of true information. I’ll tell you Poppt, reading the Bible as you have is okay, especially since it kind of seemed like you saw it as a story and not as the actual truth. But I’ll just tell you that if you really get into it, make sure to read about biblical history, the inaccuracies of the Bible, the contradictions in it, and the horrible ideas it contains. While it has some great stuff, it also contains very harmful ideas that, to put it mildly, don’t belong in the modern world. So yes, reading the Bible can be a fun experience, but it’s also frightening when you realize some people actually believe the things it contains. Just wanted to put this out there
As a person who grew up with a religious mom and atheist dad I was able to choose my side thanks to my dad. I was never a big fan of Christians or the church experience but I still grew up with an appreciation of what the Bible represents while understanding that it's just a fancy book of morals. Sure if you do these things you'll be a better person but it doesn't seem like most of these Christians read it well enough. As a side note, the nicest person I ever met was a Jahovas Witness when I was in highschool. Trevor was a good guy and he understood his religion was a moral boost and not a power trip to take on others, if they want to join you they can but they shouldn't "burn" if they say no.
Jordan watching gnomecore while looking for a match was not on my list of what to expect. 💀 Also I hope we can still see a little bit of craw on the channel just for fun. And the new guys!
Hey poppt! Love the videos btw just wanted to tell you that the giant square of the cam in the corner is kind of distracting. Maybe you could remove the background or smth but great video nonetheless!
Jordan! With jigglypuff's final smash there's a trick to make it better. Hop under the stage and use it there, that way it covers the sides and all the floor and platforms
Surprised to see that you actually watched one of Alpharad's smash ultimate videos for advice. He is the best person to go to if you want to learn more about casual smash. Even though he doesn't play as much smash as he used to, to this day I still rewatch his videos as I enjoy casual smash more than competitive smash and because his commentary and chemistry never gets old to laugh at. Wish he updated the final smash tier list so it would include the DLC characters but oh well maybe I'll make one myself. I hope you'll continue this trend again as I loved seeing your reactions to non-brawl final smashes💙
Hey Poppt1, long time viewer here commenting for the first time to say that I as a devout christian love hearing you talk about the bible, it's not offensive at all! As someone who grew up in the faith I love hearing the perspective from people who are experiencing it for the first time. I know you will probably never see this comment but if you do I would suggest finishing one of the gospels and then reading the book of Romans. The first 4 books of the New Testiment are the gospels that cover the life of Jesus from 4 different but similar perspectives, but after that it gets into Acts and the Epistles which are letters from the church leaders to new believers and they are much more relatable to everyday life. Romans is my favorite of the Epistles and has a lot of great life lessons. I will leave you with a noteworty verse in the English Standard Version Translation. Romans 5: 6-6 "For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person - though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die - but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Hope you enjoy your time reading the scriptures!
I would prefer final smashs, if you had either 1 per stock or it would fill up, if you dealt damage, not take it... It rewards being bad, which sucks at many moments, because some are way too easy to land and they kill at like 50%, some even earlier...
If you're going to start with Jesus, I'd recommend to start with John. I think you're in Matthew and it gets a bit sermon-heavy at times. John is all about the feeling and the storytelling. If you wanna go back in time a bit, do Ruth and Esther next, those are great stories. 1 2 Samuel and 1 2 Kings covers the life of David and it's long and epic, full of action and engaging character arcs, could make an anime out of it.
Do y'all think poppt knows what Shin Chan is? Also intermittent fasting vs. snacking makes sense, but the Bible vs. Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Were y'all afraid of doing the Satanic Bible?
