It's clearly one of the strongest weapons and borderline OP, but it it's the fact that it's the last weapon you unlock, its really powerful AND you could get it "for free" with the 10dollar extra delux edition. People also dislike that weapon because of that reason.
Yeah its strong, but I wouldn't say OP, close range sure, but even then someone with an SE14C or whatever the shock blaster is called can possibly rival you. But also if it had a fire rate drop the T21B or the T21 would be OP as they two shot and have a great long range ability
Neovalen I think its a top 2 weapon. However gun balance is the least thing I care about in this game, there are sooooo many things that needs to be fixed and reworked that are more important than gunbalance.
The best way to balance this blaster is to decrease its range so that its exclusively effective at close range, and not medium. The T21 blaster is essentially the same blaster, the difference is it has a much longer range but at the expense of a much slower rate of fire making it far from ideal for cqc. This type of blaster should only be good for short range or long range, let the A280 and E11 thrive at medium ranges.
+here4frags Me too, I find the A280c easier to hs (at all ranges) with..and therefore get kills faster at medium/long range which is where I like my target acquisition. It also has minimum spread and good overall balance, and as we know the best balanced gun can be the best gun overall.
I use the E-11 for the bigger game modes and the DL-44 for the smaller, compact game modes. They are both just so good in their respective distance of engagements, no need to use anything else for me.

+PengyPlayz I've been using that gun for weeks and was sick and tired of dying from DL-44's so I tried it out. Freaking destroyed everyone. It's way too overpowered. Went from slightly over 1 kill per death, to over 2 kills per death. Going 21-8 on blast my first try with the DL-44.
I think it's fucking ridiculous. If you wanna be competitive there's no other way than to use this gun. All the other blasters are obsolete. I can't tell you how many times I'm shooting someone and he just shoots me once with that fucking DL44 and I'm dead. It should overheat WAY quicker. That way if you miss a couple times you're screwed. Big risk, big reward.
I Am The Law It really sucks at range , I never seem to have problems going against it. The really OP thing in this game is SCAN PULSE you can literally see through walls all the enemy players around you.
DL-44 used to be my favorite weapon, but I recently switched to DH-17. I'm having much more kills with the DH-17 now since I like to run and rush into battle. DH-17 doesn't overheat so quickly and if you aim right, you can get headshots easily. Plus it's an automatic blaster. Just press the trigger and watch them fall :)
this gun isn't even a problem on walker/supremacy, if your constantly getting killed by this on the big maps (with the exception of Endor) you're a noob.
i find it interesting that I still haven't found the perfect rifle to shoot with, EVERYONE KILLS ME WITH THE STANDARD ST RIFLE FROM MILES AWAY AND I HAVE ISSUES KILLING THEM WITH SAME RIFLE WHEN THEY'RE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME< AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGHHHHHHHHHH, I feel like the stormtroopers from the movies :(
Totally agree with the slower rate of fire. It would make it more of a gunslinger weapon and reward players with accuracy rather than those that spam the mouse.
Steven RHCP freak Ya, true it even follows you when you use your jetpack. lol. Maybe EA could tone down the accuracy or time it stays in the air, ex only about 8 seconds or so.
+TheAgentAssassin I know when I'm being locked and I know to urn for cover but when uve got 2 seconds to react from across the map and there's hardly any cover even if there's some rocks.. it'll still find you xD
QU67 the pump action shotguns in bf4 are murderous up to 25 to 35 meters, with my little experience in destiny's pvp those shot guns dont have a chance of 40% damage at over 50 meters, auto shotguns broke the game last patch
tried out every weapon, love the dl 44. It reminds me of the Deagle 44 in BF4 while it was the powerhouse. I used to take it against primary weapons in TDM an came out winner in pretty much every scenario because it was DAMN good. A shame it got nerfed. I hope DL 44 won't get a nerf.
The most recent patch did nerf the DL-44 a bit, it is now a 2 shot kill anywhere up close, even the head. Before the patch a close head-shot was a 1-shot kill. I believe the range may have also been nerfed, but not sure about this one.
+Neovalen try to compete against it on the CQB maps with an E-11 for example. That one shot kill potential is to good and its rate of fire is to fast for its damage cause it doesn't punish you for missing your shots to much
In some ways, the DL-44 is the Battlefront equivalent of BO2 Tac-45, but takes advantage of headshot multiplier. As of now, I recently got all weapons unlocked but using the targeting rifle as my primary for challenge and that gun really needs a buff above all others, I think its called T-21B. Even with how casual Battlefront is, the weapons really do behave differently.
My personal favorite is the EE-3. Does a ton of damage in one three round burst, and is good for nearly any situation, from long range to close quarters combat.

Hey guys I have a nice trick that you can do in Battlefront. Take the explosive shot star card and use the SC-14C. Instant kill or double kil, depending on your sitiuation.
I use the DL-44 as I feel I would just put myself at a disadvantage with any other. I like it being so powerful, however I do agree that it is a bit too powerful. A slight nerf would be okay, not necessarily lowering the damage but the firerate and make it overheat a bit faster.
I adopted the "If you can't beat them, join them mentality when it comes to the dl-44. I prefer to use other guns like the e-11 and the ee-3, but I am tirelessly trying to get good with the dl-44, to no avail. I prefer the ee-3, but I definitely feel like when the other team uses the dl-44 that it becomes way too overpowered. It does as much damage as the t-21, which is an ANTI VEHICLE WEAPON...
I feel like this isn't a big surprise, DICE games always have those few things when it comes to balance that leaves everyone dumbstrucked at how obviously OP it is.
E11 feels best to me when im playing and in Battlefield 1 i'm more likely to choose the Gewher M.95 Rifleman. the iron sights work amazing and headshots just roll in.
Combine SE14C with explosive shot, and you've got a one-burst kill. It's mad. My favourite weapon is EE-3 though. Its good on both long, medium, and short distances. Especially with explosive shot.
I think the DL-44's significant recoil and overheating are major factors in making it relatively balanced. I don't mind if they tweak it slightly (like reducing the fire rate or having the damage significantly decrease across range), but I love how it plays and hope it's not nerfed into the floor. I personally find the RT-97C to be the most powerful weapon overall, but that's based purely on subjectivity. So far the only game-breaking element of Battlefront for me is the homing rocket; I seriously consider quitting every time I die to one.
Even on small maps I use the EE-3 as i find it can be a beast at all ranges if you tame it, If im having issues with a DL-44 bregade I just pop explosive shot and one burst them in the face.
Hey jack remember battlefield 4 how they Nerfed the aussalt rifles from 25 to 24 they should do that but have it be 50-49 in battlefront to make it a 3-shot kill.

Homing shot needed nurfed, and a-wings vs others needed hit box fixed, and intercept and tie-F needed to have more resistsnce to hits. Patch 1.03 made gunplay have higher ttk, why Dice!? The game was sweet, now, RIP! Thanks Dice!
It's funny when I play as Han I feel like the blaster doesn't do shit, but when I play as my regular character it is beast. Anyone else have this experience?
I love how this gun feels. And at least it's not a "spammy" weapon that's OP, it requires aim. That makes me wonder if it was balanced for the console versions, because in those it'd be harder have good accuracy with it than the other automatic weapons
However, you also need to take into account what goes on in that level area of the normal player. The cycler rifle has been SEVERELY nerfed, and you get the DL-44 just around the same level. I got the cycler rifle and was pretty dissapointed by the difference from the beta, but i believe the DL-44 made up for it.
If your playing close quarters game modes such as drop zone or blast, I find the DH-17 is the best weapon to use. I'm constantly top of the leaderboard with it.
The gun is kind of hard to unlock but the range drop really takes off the mid to long rang damage but destroys any where up close but the shotgun(I forgot the name of it in battlefront) still will win in any situation that is close range and he hits the dl 44 user first.
In my opinion the best blaster is the E-33 (Boba's blaster.) Its fairly accurate and fires quickly with the three-round bursts. If you can time your weapon cool-downs well, you will absolutely destroy other players.
The comm links had me confused for a good 30 minutes cause it sounded like one of those people that play online with open mic and it just makes that exact high pitch sound xD
Only problem I have with Battlefront, the Color of the Lasers, Blue should Cordinate with Rebels and Red With Empire..All Lasers weren't red in the movie
It needs to stay as it is as the DL-44 requires accuracy. Miss your single firing shots and your can get gunned down fast. However it is OP as you said and I'm sure dice can fix it in some way without reducing its damage or rate of fire. I suggest that if Dice got the obscure idea of nerfing this blaster that they increase the recoil. Give it some recoil so you can't spam it and hope to land your shots whilst strafing like a mad man but I don't think this needs to happen as it is only effective in close to medium range firefights. Great gun, please don't nerf it Dice! :)
here's my problem with jacks thoughts on decreasing the fire rate: he says the gun kills you with guaranteed 2 shots at mid to close range. what other gun in the game has the exact same mechanic? the t-21. the difference is that the t-21 has a slower fire rate, at the exchange of less damage drop off at long range. by decreasing the fire rate for the dl-44, you would literally be turning it into an inferior t-21
Personally I prefer the T-21 because it's also a 2 hit weapon at medium to long ranges and I consider myself to pretty decent at leading my shots. But I definitely agree with the dl-44 being considered OP.
I have the opinion that the gun should just be a hero gun.. kind of like in the last battlefront. Even in that game you could get Boba's Death ray by getting the "reward rifle" which was kill streak based!
I think the T21 is considerably more viable and just as powerful as the DL-44. It has slower firerate but the damage doesn't drop off as hard in range. If you have good aim, you'll find this weapon way more viable and reliable.
Maybe lower the firing rate would be the best idea so it promotes more thought-oriented skilled play. Other things that need fixing: grenade spam still, homing missile, terrain bugs, third person shoot into wall in cover, grenades not going off if ur killed (starcards will still go on cooldown), movement bugs, hit registration, and more Great game but needs an assload of polishing
OP, with how good it is at close quarters, it does too well at medium and long range. Instead of nerfing the fire rate, I feel like they should further reduce it's damage at range.
After the patch I do feel something different: SPREAD. For me all the rest feels indeed the same (recoil, damage, etc.) but I do feel that they have increased the spread, and I am thus missing a few more shots than before (even at not too long ranges).
If they are gonna nerf it they should reduce damage but put body multipliers so in the chest up its still the two shot kills. It makes sense for canon because they could just say Han Solo wouldnt shoot below chest.
Btw if you could have a chat with the Devs and tell them to either nerf the shit out of the "Homing Shot" or just completely remove it in general.... that'd be great
Hero weapons and Trooper weapons need a gap. Han Solo for example, his gun is the same as a troopers, the only difference is his skill things (ex lucky shot) and health. Same with leia and boba's weapon
I do kind of hate getting killed by a blaster pistol when I'm armed with a heavy blaster rifle. Especially when I've hit him about 6-7 times and he only gets me twice.
Truthfully, I don't really run into this weapon a lot and it's not too annoying for me. I personally use the ee-3 blaster and like it with the e-11 a close second but I hate using the dl-44 because it may have a high damage but a huge drawback for me is that it's not automatic. I know it's not too much work to constantly press the trigger over and over again but i just don't want to.
it all depends on how you react in a firefight most DL-44ers just spray and try to get that 2 shot if you jump or are good with crouching youll be fine. I in fact love the 44 its how i end up on the leaderboards but i hate being killed by it. in conclusion explosive shot does sound very.... conclusive.
