Sunan Kudus is a member of Wali Songo who was born with the name Raden Ja'far Sadiq. He is the son of Sunan Ngudung and Syarifah Dewi Rahil bint Sunan Bonang. Sunan Kudus's famous teachings include not allowing his followers to slaughter cows, because cows are considered sacred animals for Hindus.
Sunan Kudus preached in the city of Kudus and its surroundings. The origin of the city of Kudus was called the city of Tajug, because there were many Tajugs there which were used as sacred and prayer places for Hindus. Sunan Kudus built a mosque known as the Kudus Tower Mosque / Al-Aqsa Mosque. And also built a holy tower next to the mosque. The Maskumambang and Mijil songs are the works of Sunan Kudus.
Wali Songo is the Wali Sembilan who spread Islam in Java. Wali Songo members include: Sunan Gresik / Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Sunan Ampel, Sunan Bonang / Makhdum Ibrahim, Sunan Drajat / Raden Qasim, Sunan Kudus, Sunan Giri / Raden Paku, Sunan Kalijaga, Sunan Muria, and Sunan Gunung Jati.
