the reason they break away is because the game thinks you never had a civil war, so it thinks they never broke of, when you invade and puppet them, game just makes them break away after a fixed time (i think) like they are supposed to after flipping ideology. To mitigate this, when you do the focus bring dominions back into the fold you will get decisions to cause civil wars in your puppets, then you press a decision to put them in your faction and puppet them and ONLY THEN finish their civil war with your troops, it basically breaks when you ignore those decisions, so dont invite them to your faction manually because that also breaks something, probably the federation focus, i think. TLDR see decisions after focus "bring dominions back into the fold"

Fun fact: If you declare war on all the minions while you are in a civil war then after you win you can annex them all in peace deal and basically skip through the one empire part of the focus tree and get cores on all of your minions except India in 1936

You can actually do the imperial federation while having Canada, Australia ect. annexed instead of having them as subjects... And for the achievement you only have to do the focus. So you could have gotten it as well in this game

forming the imperial federation is actually way easier when all the dominions are annexed all of the development focuses and the one for the imperial conference just get bypassed and you can just go straight for the imperial federation

what A Truly BRITISH World Conquest

For future Britain games if you do the civil war declare on the dominions while at war(the game gives you war goals because they are allies of your enemy) and then annex them right after. Doing this you can get imperial federation in early 1937 without requiring any pp Also this allows world tension to spike and makes war goals quicker

one empire doesn't actually need a world conquest, you just need every nation in your faction, for anyone wanting to avoid some of this pain

I still remember doing this achievement with the old supply system. Having modern tank divisions with full supply in Amazon forest. Ah the good old times

It is possible to avoid the civil war completely and still have you colonies and If you are careful about managing your dominions you can fairly easily core all the dominions and the day before that event fires give canada the US to core all of that too. Doing that cuts down the headaches and time of doing this by years, I think you still need to fuss about with reducing autonomy in Malaysia and I was never able to get India to join but that is also possible

If ISP just watched Bittersteel he never would've lost the dominions...

You don’t need to own the entire world for one empire. The entire world just has to be owned by you, your subjects, or in your faction. You could do it as Global Defense Britain if you wanted

16:00 When you're doing the federation you just need a puppet, it doesn't specifically have to be one of the dominion nations, you can get around the bug by releasing someone else

I always find it amusing that no one actually bothers to read the requirements for the achievement properly because for one empire all you need is for every existing nation to be in your faction so they can be your puppets or even just a free ally, it saves so much time justifiing on random nations you can just ally like Venezuela, Peru, El Salvodore etc in this video.

You only had to go down the focus for the federation, while your subjects were bugged you would have gotten the "realize European ambitions" button to core Europe

In my game, the fascist party "peacefully" walked into the kings palace, and said "we rule now" and the king was just like "ight, im fine with that"

day 6 of asking ISP to play as austria because theres a new strat for austria since blood alone where you can survive the anschluss because of the unpassable alps, you also would have to do a agency and boost ideology in hungary for non aligned so they dont join the axis. i would really like to see you try that

ISP there is a way around the dominions declaring independence glitch if you manage to peacefully change ideology then put a certain amount of manpowers worth of troops into each state of each Dominion. It’s quite difficult but it allows you to form the North American Dominion and get it all as cores when you federate

You could actually get the British Dominion by declaring war on all of them and then win the civil war.

Well tried the usual Mosley route for this achievement. It was my first time in that focus and was too lax on marches because I wanted to speed things up. Got into a civil war was winning and would have done had I not made the stupid decision to do a march in London as when it fell I went under my surrender limit. Civil war started way too quickly. Currently trying the Communist focus path as alternative instead at least there are no civil wars as long as you are quick enough to decolonise even though your power is significantly reduced as a result. Should be able to get the One Empire and Crush the Dream achievement by sticking the whole world in comintern with the Soviets as backup. Planning on taking some more land to make up the empire lose started with Ireland. Maybe using the communist dicus is mot the nedt for one empire but I could do crush the dream with it as well.

I got the new world order as brazil by joining the axis and invading the US early. But i got lucky with the Ai, as the soviets capped in 42 and afterwards it was just mopping up.
