Batswana people are people of harmony. I am Xhosa and started staying with Batswana from the age of 6. My father worked in the mines for 45 years literally around Batswana all the time. I experienced a good childhood. I don't remember any violence or bad things happening in and around the commuties i stayed in. They used to help me with my homework and i came out with a distinction (81%) on my matric certificate and the whole community celebrated with me and my family. I further studied Bachelor of Education, now pursuing my master's degree in Languages, mainly preserving our African languages : Setswana language. I can relate to it better compared to more languages.
Me and a mate drove to Potchefstroom in the North Western Province of South Africa from Joburg one evening on a whim. When we got there we went straight to a local night club. I lost contact with my friend in the club and my phone was flat. I'd already made friends with a group and they offered me a comfy bed at no cost, next morning I called my friend and he came to pick me up. Tswana people are so laid back.
Hello my dear, I'm Solomon from Ghana and looking for independent distributors in Botswana and any part of africafor a very profitable business. Any business oriented individual can get intouch.
Thank you for letting people know about this beautiful gem. I have a soft spot for this place and it's people. Lived in Gaborone and Ghanzi some years back! I miss the people and the country!
@@ndukahenry1866 Can't be my country, @oma_jim represented Nigeria positively and flew our flag in Mexico last year, she called Nigerian embassy to make it easier for future volunteers and they told her never to call back
I was born in America but was raised in Botswana cuz my mum is motswana and I’m proud and glad to have grown up in that country cuz when I came back to America I still represent the values and morals this country has bestowed on me.
@@acefully4703 No. But their focus is often to portray imagery of war, hunger, corruption and everything bad as if to say can anything good come out of this region. We need a balance in the narrative and that's what Tayo has achieved.
@@uzoejekwumadu7731 it’s our sole responsibility portray ourselves in the way we want the world to see us, nobody will do it for us, don’t forget the agenda of the west supersedes other everything
Botswana has the same population size as Soweto. If these people are serious, they can make it a very prosperous place with a high standard of leaving.
Namibia and Botswana are the two huge countries, friendly people , very small population and peaceful, never felt freer when i passed through these lovely countries,
@@cmartin5903how come we never see american troops in thd so called american base? funny how people come up with bs stories and every fool falls for it.
The joy I get when creators visit Botswana 🇧🇼 why? I did a country research paper on Botswana and it was 40 pages of good information. Learnt a lot and was inspired by their educational system, wildlife and how they managed to use a single national resource, diamond 💎, to make the country better. Good healthcare, good education, great wildlife conservation and wonderful people. About the size of Texas in landmass but with less people, almost 2.6 million people. Great information from @Tayo Aina
The people of Botswana treated me so well during my visit in 2015. It was my first visit to sub-Saharan Africa. It is a vibe there. I think not having to fight a war for independence and no civil war has benefited them. I can't wait to go back. They really have something special there.
An African country that has made judicious use of its limited resources to empower and lift its people up. Your description of "The most perfect country in Africa" is spot on. I Love Botswana .
I'm a Motswana born in South Africa and I've never set foot in Botswana but the love I have for Botswana is so huge. Ever since i was little all I wanted was to visit Botswana ❤
Thanks for wearing a Namibian shirt. Africa , we all one. Love each other throughout the continent. Black is strong, black is colorful and black is love…🇳🇦
@Tshabalala-em3wj Don't isolate yourself my brothers and sisters. African unity is good for us all. No African should have visa to travel in Africa and we should us the same currency, African dollar, dinar or whatever name it is. Free trade of commodities and free movement of people.
I remember reading about Sir Seretse Khama and his push for independence. This country is a testament to what having visionary and selfless leaders can do.
Rwanda got their template from Botswana. Many years ago a delegation from Rwanda came to Botswana on a benchmarking mission. They visited a research body called BIDPA (Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis) where they got a template on how Botswana planned to achieve it’s development goals. This is how Rwanda got the ideas for Vision 2020 (we had Vision 2016 and now Vision 2036)and learnt about things like National Development Plans aka NDP, which Botswana has been doing since independence. We are now on NDP12. We are happy to have spread some prosperity to Rwanda. Keep shining!
As an African American i really want to eventually visit a lot of these beautiful African countries. Thank you Tayo for showing us what these wonderful cultures have to offer 🙌🏾
Forget just visiting. I was searching for a place in Africa to move to and I think I've just found it. I know most African Americans are into Ghana but this country seems to fit my energy better. Don't get me wrong America is the country I was born in and I've been here all of my 51 years, look 35 by the way 😊, but I will definitely consider moving there long term and see how things go. America is getting a little crazy now with it's politics and other things. I have to research can African Americans buy a house there and what about citizenship? Do you have to be a citizen to buy a house and land or how does that work?
@@LouisaAnime-lw2sn Ok great to know. Besides that I've seen some horror stories of black people from America buying land in Ghana and having a house built and then the land gets taken away. No way after seeing that Ghana was out for me. Plus it seems overpriced. For the prices I've seen in some places in Ghana you can get that same house and probably more in America in a lot of places.
@@ramakrishnashalom9004 I see your point. Though being somone who hasn't explored real estate any further than the southern region of Africa it wouldnt be in my power to comment there. I live in Botswana by maun region were Okavango is it's definitely worth it. Tayo should visit again the culture is worth it though I'm also curious about other places now like Japan any thoughts there?
I lived in botswana for 3 years before moving to USA. It is a great country, no corruption like other African countries, not overpopulated, nice people and food
If you are from a western country then you come from the most corrupt countries in the world, stop fooling yourself that African countries are the most corrupt.
I was born in Botswana but moved to Cameroon before I turned one so I have zero memories. Visiting my birth country is definitely on my bucket list. Thank you for giving me a glimpse of what I will see.😊
U should be so unlucky to have moved to Cameroon, Cameroon is one of the most useless nation in the world if not the most. A nation were 96% of the pop can denounce their citizenship if giving the chance .
I remember in 2019 watching National Geographic eternal enemies lions and hyenas documentary and I fell in love with Botswana 🇧🇼 and I dreamed of moving there and I’m still working on my dream 😊
Botswana is an extremely wonderful country. I was there in August 2022 for a professional course facilitated by the FBI at the International Law Enforcement Academy, Gaborone. We visited the Makalodi Game Reserve and i had the best time of my life. The people are contagiously happy, easy going and generous. You should have visited any of their shopping malls, they have a lot of malls scattered all over Gaborone. If one is not careful one will develop cardio issues because of calories intake...beef is their major staple. In every dish you are served, meat is like 80% 🤣
I want to visit Botswana and Namibia. Kenyans who have been there only say good things about these countries, the people are very nice and calm. Every time I see videos of these two countries, something in my spirit just lights up, I can't wait to visit soon❤
Best country on continental Africa, lower corruption levels than some European countries, also much safer than my home country, South Africa, which is becoming an absolute mess in many ways. They still take the rule of law and personal safety, seriously. Well done Botswana, you're what Africa should aspire to be!
Amazing!!! Am Ugandan. In Uganda we say Baganda ( plural for people of kiganda tribe and Muganda for singular. One person. Also. Basoga--- musoga Banyankole. ---- munyankole Bakiga ---- mukiga. Etc Botswana greetings from East Africa.🤩
When she mentioned that they were a protectorate I remembered the movie "A UNITED KINGDOM" by David Oyelowo. A true story about Botswana. Tayo you are not just a content creator but also a good film maker and a story teller. Thank you for showing the world how beautiful Africa is.
My younger sister and her husband lived in Botswana for about 2-3 years. She had her first child in Botswana. They now live in Australia. I will love to visit Botswana some day.
Thank you - my fav dream country - which I must travel to. It’s a shame how even Africans ignore Botswana. Def not perfect (which country is) but close to perfection. I don’t understand how many Africans always prefer to look to the extracontinental East or the West instead of seeking inspiration from another African country
My two favorite parts is when the people broke out in song.😍I love cultures that still entertain themselves. I also love how Botswana is getting some of the wealth of their diamonds to take care of their citizens’ health & education.
As an african from algeria 🇩🇿 I really want to explore africa and its beautiful countries I only visited tunisia morroco and nigeria, I think botswana is on my list now
Botswana became a British Protectorate in 1885. The three chiefs went to Britain 10 years later, (1895). They definitely were not there to ask for protection because we were already a protectorate. They went to protest against being transferred to the British South Africa Company
So how did it become a protectorate, and why a protectorate not a colony. How could they be transferred to British South African Company. The three chiefs went there to seek protection(it's a fact taught in school syllabus)because they feared Cecil John Rhodes will take or colonize their land, and also feared the Boers/Germans in Namibia were also close to doing the same.
@@charlygram_official Exactly my observation! I worked in Tanzania for about 8 years and I listened to the Church Service on Radio just for the songs even though my comprehension of Swahili is very minima.
Botswana is a beautiful, peaceful, and rich African country. Botswana's pragmatic leader Seretse Khama is the reason Botswana is a successful and stable country.
I spent over half my childhood in Botswana and seeing you go to the places that I loved when I was little, actually made me cry. I lived there since I was two until I was 9. Now I'm 15 and I really miss this.
I'm from Nigeria and I'm really amazed out how the people there live in harmony with wildlife unlike my country, I think I'm going to relocate to this country fast
Why don’t you stay in Nigeria and change the things you don’t like about it. If all of you relocate who will change it? It starts with one person and that person could be you!

As President of the Pan African Scrabble Association, the body that administers the game of Scrabble on the continent, we gave the hosting rights of the next East, Central & Southern Africa Scrabble Championship to be held next Easter to Botswana who have only recently joined the continental body. To see you really dive into Botswana in this way is interesting for me cos i now look forward to the Championship next year and will surely explore the country while i am there. Africa is so beautiful, our rhythm would pierce the hardest hearts, we really are not exploring our continent enough! Tayo, thank you for giving us yet another great video!
Im from the US but lived in Gaborone and Maun for five years as a safari pilot. Botswana will now always be my home. I've never felt more at peace than in the bush of Botswana. Great video! ❤
In Nigeria, going to places of this kind with guides, you are with armed guards or police and constantly worried about kidnapping. So so sad. I weep for my beloved naija.
Beautiful. You guys that travel and showcase African countries are doing a great service to the world. God bless you all. One thing to note, as a Nigerian, I LOVE SOUTHERN AFRICAN voices as they sing christian songs. THERE IS NOTHING like it in the world in my opinion. VERY DISTINCT and peculiar to Southern Africans.
I've always wanted to visit Botswana and I still do. Fun fact: Their currency is called "Pula", which translates to "rain". How cool is that! I will still come to Botswana and when I do, I will come back to this post to give an update. Plus: I have never met a Motswana before. I would really love to explore the country with a lovely local. So, I'm calling on the universe to help me fulfill this dream. 💛🙏🏾💜

I was in Botswana in March, I drove the whole length of the countries motorway, all the way to Nata from Gaborone, people are extremely nice and yes.....watch out for the cows on the motorways especially at nights
A correction to the lady who was talking about the three chiefs,The British wanted to transfer the country to Cecil John Rhodes's BSA company and they went there to protest against that
At 3:53 i like how you are wearing a Namibia 🇳🇦 printed shirt while being in excursions in Botswana 🇧🇼. That’s patriotism to the mother continent Africa🙌🏾👌🏾
Enjoyed this! I'm actually shocked to find out that my country is this beautiful while I've been living in it for 25 years. I'm motivated to explore my country.😍😍 Thanks Tayo.
My ex-girlfriend is from Botswana; i remember her as very smart and a considerate person. she went back to her home after her Master's from a major USA university. I don't blame her. She got a good job in the government.l, and I hope she still remembers the good time we spent together.
As a motswana( a person from Botswana) I'd say we'll done Tayo for the accurate presentation of my country and THANK YOU! And I just found out about the tower from you for the first time 😂😂😂. Anyway, isn't that Makgadikgadi salt pans? I've never heard of it being referred to as rysana pans. Whoever told you that's what they are called lied to you. It's not true. Makgadikgadikgadi pans is the name. Oh and my ancestors used to visit the pans to mine salt there.💁♀
I met an older Caucasian lady in Atlanta airport who mentioned she was headed to Botswana. Never thought to visit or research b4 her. Now I've seen your video it's on my list! Beautiful place
Great country led by arguably Africa's best leader ever, Sir Seretse Khama. His story with his english wife Ruth Williams and their battle to overcome racial prejudice is inspirational. A far cry from turbulent Nigeria.
This brought back a lot of fond memories. I grew up in Botswana for 22 years of my life and I am 39 years old. You did a fair coverage of the country and I am thinking of going back to visit all my friends and family that I left there.
In Africa we dont say Zibra its Zebra...Botswana is very beautiful l hope you enjoyed yourself in this beautiful quiet country..Big up to Bots from a Zimbo resident here.💞👍✅️🌍💯🙏
I live in SA and everytime you do a feature video on other African countries i wanna move there haha.. you have a great talent for storytelling.. I've been to Botswana twice as i have family there of the Bakalange tribe and it's a great country.. laid back, chill populace, very hot in December.. love how the government is taking such progressive policies for its people. Shout out +267! ps: did a school project on Botswana in primary school and I've always had a soft spot for it..
This quite frankly is one of the most beautiful countries in the world!! I believe it has the best educational system in Africa and possibly the world!!
I first came to hear of Botswana from a series of books: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith set in Botswana featuring the character Mma Precious Ramotswe. I enjoyed the vibe these stories projected of the people and country, and wondered if Botswana really was that special. Being an American currently living in Tucson Arizona (never having been to Africa) Botswana would be the place I'd choose to visit.
People should start visiting this kinda African countries more often. The people are genuine, fun loving, not tryna rip you off, amazing landscapes, unique experiences and connect to nature like no other. Wow, Botswana, I’d like to hike down you one day.
Thank you so much Mr Tayo for this Beautiful Pice. I just pray that my country Nigeria becomes this peaceful and harmonious, Progressive.. very soon. #LONGLIVEOURAFRICA #GODBLESSBOSTIWANA
