The Most Photographed Tree On Earth...Ruined By Riff Raff

Photoshop For Morons: www.fototripper.com/store/pho... What could be better than the most photographed tree on earth? Photographing it in fog, that's what!
A cold and misty morning delivers fairy tale conditions at one of Vancouver Islands' most photogenic spots.
While enjoying a rare moment of wonderful solitude, I'm just about to capture the perfect shot, and then the riff-raff show up to spoil the moment.
In spite of this unbearable hardship, I still manage to bag four beautiful shots and you might be surprised to see Leica making an appearance in this fun-filled landscape photography vlog.
Grumpton gags on a sausage while Brian shivers in terror in his poorly constructed tent amidst the dark and dangerous wilderness of the car park.
Colin comes to my rescue to keep me warm and to clear the way for the ultimate shot of Fairy Lake in the glowing morning mist.
Will I get 'canceled' for a ''That's what she said'' gag and how many dust spots can a sensor hold before you call it a beach?
There's really only one way to find out.
Hit play and then hit Like.

I DEFINITELY like to see the SOC, minor, and final edited image. You don't have to do all of them, but maybe one per video. What I like about uncle grumpy's approach is that by showing the RAW image, it conveys a certain honesty that the final image is good, not because of photoshopping (although that obviously improves it), but because the original capture was good. What I really like about your approach is that you gave some explanation as to why your SOC looked the way it did, and what you had in mind when capturing it. Very nice video Gavin.

I prefer the fourth - the color of the tree stands out, it feels isolated, and it shows the angle of the stump the little tree is growing on in relation to the water. Yes, please create more post-processing videos, with more detail. Thank you.

I like the before, midway and after discussions. I am also tickled to see the return of a "... do have a fess ..." Those are hilarious, and I have spit out food laughing so hard at many of them. Gavin, you could do a magnifique video of nothing but face cracks edited together, and I bet millions would love it! I know I would. And if you placed Thomas Heaton in the center of it by the murder box camper when he's screeching, "Look at it! Look at it!" well, that would just be over the top hilarious.

Gavin, I agree with Anna Galach! The background adds to the fairy look. So calming. Love the raw and after; will convince me to shoot in raw because I have been afraid of post processing - that it may be too technical for me. Your Photoshop for Morons will make me less - well, moronic!

Your videos are always funny and educational I did like your comparison of images at the end. I appreciate that you only an overview and not details of the exact edits. It gives the viewers a chance to see a comparison of how some relatively small adjustments can make a big difference to the final image. Even if you don’t do that every video, occasionally seeing this type of comparison would be great. Keep up the hilarious work!

I like the top center image best. I like that you can see the angle of the log the fairy tree grows out of. Also, the light shining through the mist on the water and shore in the background gives it a very mystical look. The Lady of the Lake could raise her hand out of the water bearing the gleaming sword Excalibur at any time.

That last pic Gavin is muy, muy... definitely my favorite and I'll tell you why. If the tree is overshot that bit of light on that background makes it unique. I haven't seen that angle too often but definitely that light makes the shot. It is ethereal, soft and delicate and gives the photo a mood that is peaceful and sublime. I can't stop looking at it!! Hey Gavin. Definitely, the last image was my favorite of the four. And yes, keep up the post processing bits. As much as the composition dialogue is invaluable, it's really only half the story. The discussion around post processing is the other critical piece to understanding how you got the image. Some may find it boring, but for someone who wants to learn as much as possible about photography, this piece is critical. Thanks for all you do!
