Welcome! I am an aspiring polyglot with a degree in Linguistics. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Esperanto, and I'm currently working on Thai. I make videos twice a week to talk about my methods of learning languages and to try to help others make language learning faster, easier, and more fun.

My language learning goals include completing the 30 day record yourself challenge, reading at least three French books and continuing to have at least one session with my iTalki tutor once a week. A long term goal I have is to be able to talk to native French speakers so I can expand my yarn business. Bonne vidéo Aaron !

If you have any Esperanto book recommendations (novels, short stories, literature), just let me know! I’d be more than happy to go check them out. Et si, par hasard, tu prévoyais revenir à Montréal éventuellement, nous pourrions nous rencontrer afin d’échanger sur notre passion des langues!

I liked the examples of goals you propose to motivate us. Mi primera lengua es español. Y me va bien en inglés. Pero siempre hay cosas nuevas para aprender. Ahora estoy estudiando las expresiones idiomáticas. I'm watching the Big bang Theory sitcom and I take as much vocabulary as I can from there. I always thought I had a good level. But after paying close attention to English subtitles, I realized I barely know anything. However, I Will apply a set of goals about idiomatic expressions, phrasal verbs and general vocabulary. Thanks for the piece of advice. Muchas gracias por compartir tu vídeo y tus consejos con nosotros. Eres un muy buen teacher 😊

I felt like you were talking to me specifically when you said "I want to become fluent in Korean this year." I'm bad at making goal setting work for me. I'm also studying Korean.

The big idea I got from this video, is to set a goal to read a short story in Spanish everyday. I have tried books without being able to stick with them. They are still too hard. I had been struggle to come up with a good goal. Thanks

Thank you for all of this❤️ Do you have any comprehensible input favorites for Spanish in regards to short stories or mindfulness topics?

I would just do a RU-vid search for Meditacion guiada or Conciencia Plena. As far as short stories go, I would recommend Olly Richards’ “Short stories in Spanish” and my own “El Dragoncito” and “Novia Zombi”.

Are you going to review Glossika? It is an extremely effective and efficient way of learning a language. I am currently using it to learn Japanese.

@@FingtamLanguages I agree, I would just use an Anki sentences deck for free.

This is exactly the video I needed! Last year when I made my goals for 2020, I made level goals without any goals on how I was actually going to do it. That didn't work out for me too well. This year, on top of lowering my expectations a bit, I've made activity goals on top of my level goals. For French I want to reach C1 as well as read more, have weekly language exchanges, and increase my exposure to French. For Spanish, I want to reach A2, finish the Spanish Duolingo tree, and make Spanish content apart of my daily life.
