Maybe. Using the NPU test (which the video didn’t do, they only tested the CPU), my Tensor G3. Gets scores in the 2000s whereas my S24U gets only 600. I also tested NPU on my Oneplus 12 which gets about 350. If the Snapdragon Gen 3 does have a powerful NPU, it is not optimized for Tensorflow Lite. Qualcomm might be relying on the CPU/GPU more for AI tasks whereas Google is putting their efforts into the TPU
Based on your question, you should also ask where is the A18 and Tensor G4.. Because the A17 and G3 also just the SD8G2 competitor nit the SD8G3.. You should go back 5 years (2019 models) when Note 10 and Pixel 4 XL releaded with SD855 and between that 2 phones the iPhone 11 released with A13, but if you look it again you will realize Pixel 4 + 5 is Pixel 9 not Pixel 8.. and A13 + 5 is A18 not A17.. or do you want to say that the phones what released together (Note 10 - 2019 aug, iPhone 11 - 2019 sep, Pixel 4 XL - 2019 oct), wasn't each other competitors, their competitor was the Note 20 from 2020? Just because that is the 4 models backwards on each timeline...
Their results are for some reason extremely slow and low for Pixel, generally G3 scores ~1700/4500 which is around 8 Gen+ 1 and Gen 2. Just did bench and got 1786/4608. It is still interesting to see that with less powerful chip, P8 Pro and S24 Ultra were quite similar in rendering speeds, just few seconds difference.
@@TheChazasI think they don't have the updates installed there was massive almost 2x performance boost in most applications with the updates. Now I rarely have any issues playing on highest settings. Only annoying thing is some apps lock out the ultra settings for this phone. :(
@@VioletPrism That was GPU update with December update which improved gaming performance by 30% and other tasks related to GPU. But still it does not explain why their phone performed so bad. Even on release phone was scoring 1700/4500 on Geekbench.
When using Geek Bench ML, please select the NPU for the test and not the CPU. The score will be drastically different. 8:11 useing the CPU score is verry misleading to ML performance
As an android user, i have to be reL Apple is just on another level. The results wont b much of a hassle since the time difference dont really differ much But apple please just just be open like android and i wont think twice to buy amd apple device

Try opening youtube open a 4k 60fps hdr10 video open in pip mode then open maps start a navigation then star screen sharing via any app that supports like Google meet or anything and last but not least open a game then see the consistency, brightness drpop , heating and battery lost percentage, gaming consistency fps consistency and multitasking at the same time it will be more fun and informative than comparing raw performance thst we already knew who got

Still the iphone would win.. dame tech did a full gaming comparison. Iphone had 10-15 fps more in genshin. Even stayed cooler. Smooter animation. Most cenarios they are about the same but in genshin iphone did alot better Really comes down to what OS you perfer now
@vikinnorway6725 Dame's tests are a bit disingenuous because he uses VPN/Gear Boost to help with performance. Some of my experiences with the 15 Pro Max differed from what his tests showed. For example, after playing around 8 minutes on Tower of Fantasy on the _first_ level, the 15 Pro Max heated up substantially, the screen dimmed, and FPS dropped noticeably. But when Dame was playing on one of the most demanding levels for a longer period of time, his phone didn't experience any dimming or noticeable FPS drops. Keep in mind that the 15 Pro Max that I used was brand new and up to date on software. This was in December around the 20th. I didn't use anything to help with the 15 Pro Max's performance; I used it as is.

out of 10-15 videos I had watched comparing S24 U vs iPhone 15 PM. S23 Ultra has really improve, In all the comparison videos I have watched S24 Ultra always won the rendering and excel sheet opening. This is the first video it lost. So either software problem OR IDK..
Pixel is a great device, but they should consider using Snapdragon or MediaTek for better performance. Additionally, they could benefit from using a larger vapor chamber.
And imagine the result with the real SD8G3 competitor, what is the A18. Because Samsung pissed into his pants and don't have any balls to release their Note with the iPhone anymore, the S24U still just the renamed Note 24, what is suppose to release 7 months later with the iPhone 16.. so it's not the iPhone 15/A17 competitor. At least until somebody state that, in the previous decade the Note (and rest of all other Androids) was never ever good enough agains the current iPhone, they was only good agains the already one year old iPhone (just like the 4 gen before Note 20, what released with the iPhone 12, but iPhone 15 - 4 is not iPhone 12, it's just iPhone 11..)
Its more related with optimization. Its much easy to test app by app , real test is multitasking of multiple apps then you find which Processor is more stronger and SD destroys A17
The problem with her Geekbench ML score is that she selected to test the CPU not the NPU which is obviously going to do worse than a dedicated neural processor. 8:11
Geekbench is multiplatform different from Antutu, in addition the A17 Pro is the only chipset that works with 8 Width decoding outside the amount of Cache, Geekbench was designed to use these internal features of the Chipset and this is far beyond the specifications of the Paper.
In the same way antutu always favors android. Even anututu's CEO announced that its just centred to android. So its really dump to compare the gpu scores of android to ios.

Literally the 8 gen 3 and A17 pro was head to head. Get the 8 gen 3 for significantly better GPU performance and get the A17 pro for some minor CPU perfomance increase
Of course not, in computing power the A17 Pro is better than the 8gen3, the fact that it works with 8-width decoding makes it better in CPU computing, while the 8gen3 decodes 6 instructions simultaneously, the A17 Pro executes 16 instructions because it has 2 P-Cores, against 1 P-Core of the Snapdragon, here the difference is already at the Architectural level and not in Software, of course the portion of IOS is to take advantage of the characteristics of the Chipset, but in the complete set the A17 Pro is more powerful, Apple always boasts about its Chipsets, because they are right, while Qualcomm Support the Cortex of ARM nothing can be done to surpass Apple, apart from that Android is already a heavy software compared to iOS.
I have heard that Antutu can't be compared across platforms (iOS vs Android) and even the developed confirmed this. Would probably be better to compare a game running on-screen and see what framerates you get or something like this. Nice comparison overall though.
Tensor is half as fast and uses more power, but Pixel users will say they have no complaints 🤣. Paying $1k for a phone that's slower than every non-pixel flagship released last year and half the phones released the year before that... nice. (Typed on a Pixek 8 pending a OnePlus 12 in the mail!)

2:25 Adobe rush is better optimised for iphones. This isn't a fair test. Should have used other video editing software as filmora or kine master. Similarly antutu scores are different in android & ios. Both have different APIs. Know the difference
I have a Pixel 8 and it's awesome in every aspect of the daily life and usage. I can also rely on the, now old and my second phone, Pixel 5a, it does an amazing job, I use it for job related stuff. No need for power houses for the majority of the people! The video and the test was awesome, Versus team you are doing a great job, hands down!
