Zhu Ting (Chinese: 朱婷; pinyin: Zhū Tíng; born 29 November 1994) is a Chinese female volleyball player.[1] She is the Outside Hitter and Captain of the Chinese women's volleyball national team.[2] She played for Turkish club Vakıfbank Istanbul from 2016 to 2019, and currently plays for Tianjin Bohai Bank.
Zhu and the Chinese national team have won several gold medals in international competition, including in the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2019 World Cup. Since her debut in 2011, Zhu has received 13 MVP awards at all levels of competition, including the MVP award of Rio Olympic Games 2016. She is widely regarded as one of the best and most decorated indoor volleyball players of all time. She is also the highest paid professional volleyball player in the world, male or female, as of the 2018/2019 season.
2019
In March, Vakifbank beat Rusaian club Dinamo Moscow in the second round of the quarter-finals of the 2018-19 CEV Women's Champions League. Zhu scored 17 points with a greater-than-60% attack success rate, which helped the team to enter the semi-finals.
In April to May, Vakifbank beat Eczacıbaşı VitrA again in the Final of the 2018-19 Turkish Women's Volleyball League with an overall score of 3:2, and won the championship title. In the 5 matches of Finals, Zhu scored 106 attack points with a 50% attack success rate, ranking first among all spikers. She again received the tournament MVP award.
On 7 May, Zhu and Vakifbank announced that Zhu would leave the team temporarily, in order to concentrate on training with the national team for the 2020 Summer Olympics. In the next season, Zhu was to return to Chinese league, but the club she would join was undecided.
In September, Zhu played her second FIVB World Cup in Japan. She led team China to win all 11 matches, successfully defending their championship. Zhu performed well, receiving her second FIVB World Cup MVP award and being elected Best Outside Spiker.
On 1 October, Zhu announced via social media that she would join Chinese champion club Tianjin Bohai Bank in the coming season.

Zhu Ting didn't do well at the beginning of her volleyball training. She once thought of giving up and find a job in the city. But her parents insisted she should try a bit longer. And she said lucky she was poor at that time, otherwise she would just buy a ticket home and leave the volleyball team. Lucky!

I think what lot of comments trying to say is: Zhu Ting may not jump the highest, spike the ball the hardest, but she's definitely the most accurate spiker and the most difficult to defend against.

She’s 198cm, taller than most players. So when she jumps, she doesnt need to leap too much to be high that also means less time in air; and doesn’t leave opponent too much time to react.

Even though she's super tall, she's also fast. And if you are going to watch their training, she's not hitting with standard height of the net, their coach added almost a meter higher than the standard net height.

Zhu's Turkish league has all the national team star players. It's like the international dream team. If we make a space jam movie for volleyball, this should be the team to star in it.

Talking about volleyball film, a famous Chinese director made a blockbuster called Leap 夺冠 this year featuring the actual players (including Zhu Ting) of the entire Chinese women's volleyball team. The international movie star Gong Li plays the coach Lang Ping. The story tells the history of Chinese women's volleyball team from its first winning of international game in the 70s till the latest triumph in Rio Olympics, and how the spirit of the team has motivates millions of Chinese to strive in adversity and difficulties. The spikes may not be as sharp and as hard as Boskovic and Egonu because their muscles are clearly different but I can say Zhu is the most consistent between the two of them, making the fewest mistakes. But the spikik is difficult to save because the spikis is sharp downward and seems to speed up she uses her brain and excess height to sharpen the spikines so that it is difficult to be saved either on the block or sharp downward and a lot of evidence Edit: cmiiw

Jacques Lee u didn’t mention that four out of that six blocks was made by Zhu 😂😂 yeah Zhu blocked Egonu. And Egonu can only touch Zhu Ball, and she’s barely able to block Zhu. And that’s what makes Zhu standout as the most efficient volleyball player in the world, and she deserve to be the most paid volleyball player.....

Zhu can hit up to 3.04 easily, and that is just as good as Egonu. but Lang ping wants her to play more fast balls rather than high balls. But you will see Zhu ting starts to play high balls when the set is crucial.

She does a 1-2. It may not bring as much jump height as it possibly can, but she's able to hit above the block nonetheless; so a faster approach yields for faster play thus allowing to spread the block.
