Full sun does amazing things to micro greens ---- the colour and flavour is more intense. I love this method. What a cost saver on mediums !! Great video 👍

yes.. need to let what organic material (roots) have time to decompose. The bacteria doing the decomposing cannot tell the difference between dead stuff that needs to rot and live stuff that needs to grow. After the seed germinates and actually starts growing, it seems to become immune to that bacteria. But until it does, its susceptible to decay.

I bet micro greens will grow pretty fast down here Florida most of the year if not all of it. I'll get some going soon like this. Thanks for the vid👍

In Florida, they will for sure. Here in Victoria, BC, hey grow around 8-9 months out of the year, the rest we do indoors!

I wonder how that would work in a wetter climate, if they would tend to rot or if the dirt splash would be a mess. Might have to try a small patch next year.

I wonder if we had tables with hardware cloth or hog panels then this fabric, then the compost, then the seed it would raise up to save the back and knees. there is another farmer that uses window screen and recycles it, not large scale but interesting.

What kind of seeder did he use to plant these beds? I couldn’t understand what his response was when Curtis asked him if he used the Jane Seeder near the beginning. Four pointer maybe?

PLEASE provide a link in the show notes to the source that he buys that fabric from! That seems absolutely crucial to this method of production since he said landscape fabric will overheat and cause mould. I'll check back again and cross my fingers you link it there because I would LOVE to produce our microgreens this way and cut out the time on seeding trays and money on potting soil.

How does he harvest? It could be really hard on your back if you don't have some kind of stand-up harvester.

personally wouldn't want to hunch over beds for hours a week hand cutting micros, would probably charge more than $10/lb for that sort of labor
