I'm sorry you hated recording this session so much because it was highly insightful and such a breath of fresh air to see all the card deadness, no other vlog does that, but it sounds like it's for obvious reasons with the camera recording. If you do find out what you did to upset the poker gods to lose the 2 rivers with your set, please let me know. I'm losing my 90/10's all the time and I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. Anyways, happy to be a new follower, keep it up man!

Thanks for the support! And would love to do it again but the editing took twice as long for the same length of video which in total was about 24 hours! Plus having to take notes of 124 hands on the felt rather than the usual 10-15 made playing extremely hard! Plus having a full time career, family & moving houses,,, lets just say it wasn’t an easy week of editing haha

Surprisingly, results don’t alter my mood since I started the vlog since every session I can have “content.” The reason I didn’t like doing it was the time factor. Total editing took over 24 total hours & running a business I just don’t have that free time. Plus during the session I didn’t even have time to think since I had to take note of 124 hands rather than the 10-15 I usually feature. Just unsustainable both on the felt & editing!

And the thing that's often missed is the underlying effect on the mental game within our own emotions that we all deal with and how it can subtly affect your play for the rest of the session. When you win a big pot early you're usually going to be playing with confidence... loose and relaxed as the session continues. But when you get jammed running it twice as a huge favorite and now you're stuck $500... it's very hard to play as well as you would have had you been up $500. Of course we all try to just play the best we can and not be results oriented, but that doesn't mean a big swing against after getting it in great doesn't really negatively affect players....just brutal on the meta-game. And like you said on the outro... stuck $400 and you played well, which I agree you did and you avoided mega tilt... but the level of confidence you didn't have is really hard to put an exact value on ...but it's real and tangible. Spots you might have raised in but instead you folded her just called etc... Keep your head up, you played well.

Absolutely love the videos. Thank you for taking the time and effort. It is very helpful to enforce the learning and understanding or hands that lower stakes will sometimes want to play like Q9s of K10o. I am curious why you fold A2s early and limp A3s later?
@NorCal_Poker
@NorCal_Poker 4 месяца назад
Appreciate the support! And it’s really table dependent for me. A2 suited in general, has gotten me in alot of trouble. If you make a straight on 345, a lot of people play 67 suited or unsuited so it can get you in a lot of trouble, whereas if A3 makes a straight on 245, not many people are playing 63. Just my opinion on the hand! (But I do play it in my next vlog!)

Seeing every hand is the best format for sure. Your right it is a lot of work but it shows how tilt can creep its ugly head into a session very easily. You played over 120 hands and didn’t see a premium pair which is rare. Loosing with a set when running it twice is even more rare. You’re a solid player with good discipline who in the long run will profit for sure. First time I caught your vlog had to sub. Thanks for showing what you do for a living. That’s more entertaining than folding 115 unplayable hands. lol 😂

First off I wanna say I enjoy your weekly videos and think you have much potential in the game. That said I think you're folding too many playable hands like 74s and A6s are both good hands with lots of post flop potential. I recommend mixing it up a bit more by throwing a few of them in when you play. It will confuse your opponents and often lead to bigger wins. Personally I even like playing suited Kings and Queens because the GTO kids never see it coming lol.

Overfolding suited Ax and Kx hands preflop in a juicy game is a pretty major leak. From any position (though the later the better) those hands can be very lucrative in small stakes games unless your competition is a sewing circle of nitty regs. In which case game choice is a problem.

@mattstieg5388
@mattstieg5388 4 месяца назад
You're more able to fold tight since your table was flush with calling stations as said. Allows you to play your eventual good hands more normally. I'm used to getting no action after card dead for a spell as they consider me tight & strong by then... which then requires an occasional bluff attempt with wider range now & then. Increases variance a bit as I blow a few more small bets when miss but called/beat, but can lead to hidden strength when the meh hands hit hard. Or take down pre with trash which is always good for tiny bit of confidence.... even worth a show face up to let em know I'm capable so they don't think me a NIT. Or, I MAY be overthinking after 4 dry + run into it + outdrawn sessions. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I feel your pain, that is a carbon copy of my running since November 23, so fekkin frustrating and painful and it always the big hands that matter!!! And so sick of bad plays and calls with nothing on flop only to go runner runner with the only 2 that can counterfeit my hand!!! Sick of it now tbh tried playing through it only for it to continue, have taken a little break hoping the poker gods have moved on to some other poor begger and leave me alone for my return!!!! Quality vlogs bud, keep your chin up and hopefully we get a hand or two to hold up soon!!! 🫣🫡🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Bro Q9s is an open fold UTG+2/MP1 because it eats profit, but in the UTG straddle raising A2o-A7o over a BTN limp is good? You got it backwards, I get that you’re LP but even with just a BTN limp you want to only ISO A8o+, I don’t think it’s bad to go one pip lower, in fact it’s probably perfectly fine, my point is at the same table that you raise A7o, you need to be consistent with your logic, Q9s is horrible fold in that spot at such a table
@NorCal_Poker
@NorCal_Poker 4 месяца назад
I understand your logic but what your missing is it’s all based off of player types. I was playing against guys I know which means different spots, different action

So with 2 limpers you go $20 in position. However with a straddle and being out of position you go to $26? You went almost 5x plus the 2 limps with the AQ. On your straddle you were just over 3x plus the limp. You're still giving almost 2:1 on a hand that you'd really like to avoid a flop with.
