I suspect 'back facial' persists because it's hard to think of an easy alternative that really describes what is being done! So no need to apologise for using the term - we use metaphors in all kinds of other linguistic usage, so why not here? Lovely to watch as always x

As a teenager I had fairly frequent breakouts of acne on my back. Never anything too extreme, but my skin was definitely oily at the top of my back and I'd get whiteheads across my shoulderblades. The best I could do at the time was tea tree soap, and then in my twenties it went away on its own as puberty ended. A treatment like this would have been perfect, I always wanted a proper deep cleanse and exfoliation.

I think it's fair to say that "face" has multiple definitions. Technically, face can be the surface of a thing, especially one that is presented to the view or has a particular function. If we apply a general definition to a "facial" as one where a series of products and techniques are applied to cleanse and beautify, this can be applied to the thing that is presented in view. If you are "about face" and your back face is in view, and you're applying products and techniques to cleanse and beautify the back, then "back facial" is a more than apt description. Everyone who argues knows what you mean -- they just want to argue for some sort of attention, because for them, any attention is good attention. Especially from you, when they probably will never get to experience the bliss you deliver with your attention.

I work for a Chiropractic physician. There is a therapy called myo-fascial release. It allows the doctor to target muscle inflammation. It is a type of massage that helps to relieve muscle pain and encourage lymphatic drainage. People call it a “ a back facial” all the time 😂
