@@welhynole4082 I don't think Dustin cares, honestly, and he couldn't continue past that point given that it's automatically a disqualification. You don't take risks in a fight that could determine your entire career, if an illegal move happens, reschedule the fight. He came back to beat Alvarez later on anyway, but it's like an obvious eye poke, if you think it could impinge your ability to win, don't risk it. This was also the referees decision, Dustin usually plays closely to the rules, and stops when he's told to stop.
@@AveSicarius but Dustin saying that was stupid. They were booing Dustin. And he goes on the mic “hey don’t boo this man” when Dustin was on the one getting bood
@@AJ........ Poirier* And the guy apologizing is former defending Lightweight champion of the UFC and the first fighter to be a champion in UFC and one in Bellator, Eddie Alvarez
@@BaileysMariner Goes over and starts shit talking Chandler after being 20-17 going into round 3. Possibly just low intelligence not understanding anything to do with the McGregor stuff so I won’t even mention him taunting a man with a broken leg. Going over to taunt Dan Hooker after barely scraping a decision against him. Be an arrogant bully and win = very humble great fighter, arrogant bully and lose = trash talking bum
I get what you mean ..but I believe that in the ring you are my enemy.. its the mindset that helps you to win .. after the match we are brothers no matter the outcome.
@@cerovk6000 The bowing part is a respectful, old world bow. I believe the arms signify the understanding that the person you're addressing is a warrior. Kyokushin Karate was created by a Korean immigrant to Japan. His story is fascinating. I think there's a movie about him somewhere.
It’s an unsaid rule that once you’ve put your life on the line fighting against another man with everything you’ve got, the only emotion you have left towards each other is respect.
Jesus Is with you He is not against you and He will make a way. Put your trust in Him He loves you so very much. Turn away from all evil and live for Christ He is coming soon. You are amazing now spread His gospel. You have a very compassionate heart give Him all glory and honor.❤️✝️Praise Jesus through all situations.
I agree. This was a huge display of character and it took a lot to make the apology. I respect good sportsmanship. They are both warriors. Props to Dustin for telling the crowd to not boo this man. That makes the most of his humble apology. Respect. Real recognize real, better recognize. ✅
@@sxuxxxxers354i hated that too but always wondered if it was just to sell the rematch. Feel like him and Dustin would be the types that would talk about sellijg a fight because they are nice. You cant do that with the angry or crazy/dumb cause theyd snitch ya out.
But they won't get a $20million boxing match running their mouths like Jake Paul. These are REAL fighters and will be around much longer than that clown who is too afraid to step into an octogon!
@@BrassBashersI used to hate this too bro but just think how many people are going to hear about this sport now whilst all these influencers are shedding light on it. Boxing will probably get a bad reputation and become a joke to the younger ones sadly if this carries on, but the next best thing is this.
@@liampurvishonour is stupid and has been used in stupid ways to justify shitty things. I.e, your entire family being treated like shit for years because a member of your family "dishonoured" your entire lineage by doing something you were entirely unrelated in. This is just respect, respect for each other and respect for ths sport. Honour can be manipulated, respect can't.
I like how he used it how he said it but man that “best I can do” comment pisses me off in general. It’s usually the same as “oh well this is as good as it’s gonna get”. Eff that if you can’t do it better go find someone else who can teach you or learn something new. There is never “ oh this is the best I can do the end” there’s always a way to problem solve, if you can’t do it you go find someone or something that can. You can achieve anything you set you mind to
This is real manly behavior. Owning up to your own mistakes and truly apologizing is the most mature thing you can do, especially to an opponent. Humility and assertiveness do not contradict each other
Examples of manly behavior on both sides. His opponent shutting the crowd up and getting him the respect that amazing apology deserved. He knew he messed up and apologized. That's that.
Kids don't realise these days but a man with true respect knows his worth, a kid with no respect is reflecting on himself. Fear the quite humble man not the loud cocky kid.
Except they threw this out the window almost immediately afterwards and hate each other calling each other a bitch and quitters and Porier said Eddie is a scumbag and their beef was one of the reasons Eddie didn’t resign and left the UFC…
Cause most of the crowd is just there to get drunk af an watch fights they don’t even understand what they really watching or understand the sport for the most part they just wanna watch a fight an get belligerently drunk
Cause apology or not, the crowd assumed the other fighter was not ok with the rule break. People cheat then lie all the time, how do you think it looks when a cheater wins and the other fighter is silent? Just playing devils advocate.
- It does seem like its been a while since someone admitting, owning up to and apologizing for a mistake garnered forgiveness and respect and empathy. It seems like apologies are currently just seen as malicious confessions wanting for any real authenticity and done as nothing more than PR and legal maneuvers.
@@Babidi111 Because narcissists and sociopaths have used apologies to garner sympathy in the past. They aren't seen as honest, and some people have lost their ability to see genuine authenticity in a person. To me, this apology was clearly the real thing, but many people have become numb to such exchanges. We really are a bit sick as a society.
it's literally the easiest thing ever to admit when you're wrong and humble yourself, the problem is people like to take advantage of that and make it look like it's weak and it's the direct opposite
Why the fuk always people giving Joe a hard time over bear stories and DMT ? Until you try it you won't understand the curiosity about it..But all in all Joe is a true fighter who fought cancellation and genuinely gets pros on his podcast to find out and tell us all true history and news !!! Very rare !! Respect the man
Eddie is always a class act. And Dustin coming in to defend him is even cooler. Two legends of the UFC showing a mutual respect for the sport they are in.
That "don't talk money, don't talk money when you've been on govt assistance taking food out of single mothers mouths" line he dropped on mctappers head have me a new level of respect for the guy, it went over alot of people's heads but it shut conor up which is something not alot of people could do back then
Eddie talked mad shit before they ran it back and Dustin beat his ass for it. He claimed Dustin was faking blah blah blah. Eddie acted like a real bitch immediately after this, he didn't want the crowd boos.
The amount of people here who have never got in a fistfight with one of their friends and hugged it out after. Damn, yall were sheltered. This generation really is soft af
@@DoArtTheMovementmy first fight made me and him great friends. 30 years later, we reconnected, and we're even better friends. Troy's got into boxing himself and I never knew bcuz we moved off and never seen each other again. Facebook is good for something. 👍
Now this is sportsmanship. Dustin willing to defend the man that made an illegal move accepting that it was a mistake is a huge sign of the respect that he has for him. Eddie admitting on a live broadcast that it was a illegal move and apologizing to not only Dustin but the crowd shows you the type of fighter he truly is. These two are prime examples of how you should act as competitors. Huge respect for the both of them.
