Visual clarity is a valid criticism, but the only asset that's been actually reused here is the Lux ult. All the other ones have differences that show they have been made individually.

Forget Lux... Janna and some other champs haven't received a visual update IN OVER A DECADE, while some champs (like Udyr) already had not one, not two but MULTIPLE visual updates and/or reworks...

As someone who has never given riot a single cent and never will, am I missing something? The Q, auto and W are all different from other skins. They just seem similar because of the theme/ color palette? I get its bad for visual clarity but it's not a case of reusing assets. The Ult and E might be similar once on the ground but Seraphine Q and Lux E have a completely different cast animations and particle effects as the spells land, they last for vastly different amounts of time as well, nobody is going to confuse the two.

okay but seraphine auto attack vs lux auto attack looks different same for karma shield and lux shield, i can tell a difference between both of them

It’s so great that a big burly character that has an easily identifiable outline and weapon cannot have a hat due to visual clarity, but it makes total sense for a bunch of characters with dozens of skins to have matching projectiles so you know you are playing against a certain skin line!

Anything other than the E and the R flower feels like a stretch, like the auto attack and the shield clearly look different but maybe it's just me, I'm not trying to defend riot btw

I feel like this is a result of all those layoffs. When riot fired the people who did the TFT battle pass rewards, they no longer gave 9 booms per pass. Now you get 1 or 2 and have to buy the others for extra money, it’s terrible

They did the same with Lux and Xayah. They took Xayah's star guardian wings model and put it on Lux's soul fighter. Its exactly the same model, exactly the same animation, just different colours. 😂

I mean isn’t Faerie Court Ezreal, Sera and Lux in the same “season” theme of the skin line? I think they’re Summer that’s why there’s bits of water splashes in their vfx. Their skill vfx looks kinda similar because idk they need to be cohesive? The only glaring one here is the flower on Lux’s ult being super identical to the Porcelain one.

Visual clarity only matters if your champion is unpopular, or if it takes them more work. They can always use the Akali hair thing as an excuse to make easier skin models, and giving Yorick a hat affects more people since Yorick is less popular than say High Noon Lucian. It's stupid but that's just how it is.

It's honestly frustrating because the skin design itself is eye-catching and pretty nice. they could have done so much with that skin as far as unique animations go but instead they opt to copy and paste? talk abt a waste of potential. There are so many lack luster or just bad designs when it comes to skins that it rlly comes as a slap in the face when you see a skin that looks nice and had potential just get crapped on cause they were lazy. or what if they did it on purpose..
