I am not sure if all these are stupid.... instead I think they are phenomenaly genius. Saikik, Nichijou, Konosuba..... they are genius them all. Comedy is one of the most difficult genres and this series nail it perfectly. I love your list, I think you are spot on that they are truly special
I've watched Aho Gilr and it was some funny brain rot... KonoSuba, the top tier isekai parody... The VA are so into it and it spurred the great ad-libed line of "Hai, Kazuma desu" / "Yes, I'm Kazuma" and all the Explosion Incantations are made up by the VA also. Kaguya-sama for me was kind of difficult to watch at the start but then I ended up watching the 3 season and the movie and waiting for more. And if you are here watching this then you should already be watching Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan and if you are not... What are you wanting for? Shiiiiika! 🦌

Dog and Scissors is my favorite random/brainrot humor anime. Ridiculous premise with over the top characters and humor. Watched it randomly and it has stuck with me since. Plus a real fun OP
Legend has it that some of the episodes were dubbed while they were drunk, also you should've put a warning that Ghost Stories is a product of it's time

I love the story on how ghost stories came into being with the dubs. Cautious Hero had one of the greatest scenes ever, all those slaps. aho girl , i just call it the banana girl anime. if Gintama wasn't on this list, i was going to question you sanity. I actually think that Kaguya-Sama is pretty brilliant. I have read the rest of the manga and you can see how this is the same author as Oshinoko. He gets a lot of things happening at once and pays gov the intricacies of how people feel and act pretty well.

I was absolutely certain I'd see School Rumble on this list; it's not as eponymous to the theme as Gintama but it's from around the same time period, give or take a year...😅 A second thought also brought up Those Who Hunt Elves. I don't think it ran very long but it was like an isekai before isekai became what it is today, and it was bonkers fare for the late 90's...😂

While Ghost Stories is an extreme example, it shows how dubbing changes the anime. It is impossible to keep the original intent of the creators. I'll admit that the only way to get the 100% true experience of anime is to speak Japanese and live in Japan long enough to understand their cultural references. But subs are the closest we have to get it. Dubs is far behind because of how diluted it becomes
I propose Sayonari Zetsubou Sensei. Every single member of the cast is insane. Arakawa Under the Bridge. Yet another cast of stupid idiots. Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. This series literally is about lovable losers. Irresponsible Captain Tylor. It's a little smarter than everything in the list but that's a low bar.
