The AHL is the minor leagues of the NHL, leading to a majority of the teams drawing inspiration from their senior league affiliates. Yet, there once was a team that strayed so far from the norm, and went to the complete abnormal. The New Haven Beast were an AHL hockey team, that featured one of the most TERRIFYING logos to ever grace the front of a hockey jersey. They even turned it into a full-size mascot. There must've been lots of sleepless nights in New Haven...

Apparently my former home state, CT, couldn’t pull off the best AHL logos But the reason for the Connecticut Whale was completely just to bring back the Whalers, they even used Brass Bonanza

1. It was the Thoroughblades, not Thoroughbreds. It literally says that on the logo. 2. The NHL didn’t “expand” into Carolina as in they weren’t an expansion team. Hartford moved there.

The Milwaukee Admirals rebrand in 2006 is such an L, not from a “it looks terrifying” standpoint but in that the logo they were using for nearly a decade at that point looked pretty decent then they rebranded to something it looks like a child put together on some PBS Kids art game online

We miss having the Beast of New Haven. It wasn’t liked at first but caught on. Sadly New Haven will never see pro hockey again.
