Fantastic car. I live in New Zealand. I have a 2021 Audi A4 Avant 45 S-line. I previously had a 2010 2.7 TDi Avant, and the upgrade has been a surprising leap forward. I've had no trouble with the car, the performance is excellent, and it looks great. I'd recommend it to anyone. The specs are a bit different here. Full leather interior, motorized sun-roof, and GPS is standard. My 360 degree view has no extra viewpoint options like the new one, but its a great feature for parking and tight spaces. User-friendly, stylish, quiet - what's not to like?
Another excellent video, Emily. If I wasn't so set on a Q5, I'd consider replacing my A4 with this. The trunk is the selling point... it looks like it could fit many bats of baseball. :-) This may not be "your thing", but would you ever consider doing a video on the market for Audi's due to the chip shortage? It seems like a REALLY bad time to buy, but my A4 is a 2013 and I'm hoping prices might come down soon for Q5s. It's tough watching videos on these new models nowadays when they're just so expensive. :-( By the way, these videos make you look more like 5'-6".
Thank you! I haven’t ever thought of doing a video about the chip shortages. The problem is it’s ever changing. Like today we got an e-mail saying there will be no more allocations for 2022. The Ukraine crisis is making the supply chains even worse then before. Big bummer. I thought we were starting to get better. I totally understand as a buyer it is very frustrating. What specifics are you looking to know about?
@@emilytheaudinerd Mostly specifics about the bottom line. I've always bought new cars for thousands under MSRP. From what I hear, now you can expect to pay thousands OVER. That won't be me... I'd just like to know when prices will come back closer to normal. Thanks for responding.
My wife has this model and in the market for either a new of these or Q5, she’s trying to figure out but she absolutely loved this car. I did too with my only complaint for this is you sit SO LOW in this car but it rides and handles great
Great review. Saw this after I bought my 23 a4 45 s line, but a great value proposition for 48-52k sports sedan. Emily, you need to come drive mine with a jb4 on map 5. 💪🏻🏁
Great review Emily! I considering an A4 or a Q5 when things get back to "normal" in the car world. Hopefully soon. If comparing the same drive-train between the two...I'm curious if the A4 would handle better than the Q5?? I'm more of a sedan guy vs a SUV guy.

I’m seriously considering a A4-45. My main concern is reliability and can’t find much information. I know maintenance will cost a little more but I don’t want to be bringing the car in constantly for breakdowns.
Maintenance cost for the A4 is less than the competing Mercedes and BMW. What else are you comparing it to? As far as breakdowns, I’ve never seen a late model (2017 and up) in for any kind of breakdown ever. Just routine maintenance. The Q5 and A4 are some of the more bullet proof models.
@@emilytheaudinerd I’m considering in A4 model. But have heard the negative opinions regarding German autos. There’s really not too much fact and a whole lot of opinion on the topic.
What other brands are you considering besides Audi? I will be the first to admit, the German car before 2012 ish was "crappy" in comparison to much of the other options on the market. But after 2012 they really started to turn the corner. I know of dozens of Audis owned by my customers that have well over 150k on them with no major issues. As long as you keep up with your maintenance, then your Audi will take care of you. Where are you located? if you are in the Minnesota area, I'd be happy to help answer more qestions.
Can't say too much about the newest models reliability since there is not much data yet. One i can tell, that i'm driving 2012's A4 for the last few years and it runs like a gold. The most serious malfunction was the left mirror starts falling out, fixed in 10 minutes for symbolic price. But i know that many people got some hard times with A4-s. It seems, that it depends the most of how they were used since first owner.
Just gone mine: used a 2022 with 3,400 miles. my secondone.. and I love it.. fantastic drive. And remember NEVER buy a NEW Audi.. always USED.. you will save $$$$$$$$$
wow...2 cars! I have the 2021 a6 then after 5 months purchased the 2019 a7 which was my dream car.As soon as the new s5 with the refreshed interior comes out i will get rid of the 6 and keep the 7 and 5
@@MrLeonidas123 I couldn’t get enough! I love the A6 and A7! I believe the A5 will get a refresh In a year or two. Hard to know with all of the shortages.
Love this model. I think it's perfect for my fiance' in a year or so - she currently has a Jetta with the 2.0 NA. But we need an AWD vehicle because we're moving to Rhode Island. Do you know if the A4 can get ventilated seats? That's my number one requirement for a new car.
The biggest complaint I have on the A4 (or most Audi cars) is the absence of remote start key fob. That's standard for BMW 3 since G20. It may not be that important in the States but almost a must have during winter in Canada for people who don't want to sit on cold seats for few minutes before they are heated. Other than that the A4 is way better equipped than any BMW 3 and Mercedes C.
We are at the mercy of what is allowed in Europe. I’m Europe it’s illegal to leave your vehicle while it’s running so we don’t get remote start. And we don’t have a factory here in the US to get around that.
Hey Emily, I'm an Audi tech and I've always wondered why Audi doesn't offer the brake hold feature on any vehicles sold in the US. For the life of me I can't understand this. We get a button blank where the rest of the world gets the brake hold button. Any idea why they remove this feature from US vehicles?
How do you change the interior lighting on the premium plus I only have a chance to choose white at night time and I've been looking for but I can't find it I don't see background
Those aren’t lidars, just fyi… they are radars fused with forward facing camera data which is mounted in the windshield for all the advanced driver assistance functions… Typically, lidars aren’t used for level 2 and 2+ autonomous driving.
I have Audi.. BUT to buy a navigation lic is a spit on the face of Audi's costumers.. it's a BIG F*** Good new is there is a crack.. I got it for my 2022 A4. No way I am paying them $3,400 to use navigation. I got the crack and it work s very well. Just like when BWM wanted to charge their costumers to use seat warmers..
