I think that you are correct about the thrifting part. I have been doing it for many years and as time goes by I have gotten a bit more choosey about what I actually buy. Over here we have quite a few YT thrifters and that is what is driving the prices up at the stores where you can't even get the bargains much anymore. I think you should rent a table at one of those festivals with your chopping boards and other items to sell like everyone else does. Thanks for sharing your travels with us :) Do you have a dragon weathervane? Rosieres has one on their cottage would be sweet if yours did. Not sure of the folklore or reasons people use them but fun to have. Zinc and copper ones on antique sites online. Maybe the other cottage or barn you can make a shop that locals can come and see your wares at your property. What about a reclamation yard always different stuff in there either that or going further afield. Funny you found a weather vane an owl one is cool. Great finds Sam :)

Hello Sam, Lynn and Sean!🤗 My Dad and I were watching and Dad saw something at the start of the video that his father often used on the farm. Then Sam’s Mom bought it as a gift!!! We were elated it was saved and what a coincidence!!! The metal spike object was a portable anvil used by a scythe man. My grandfather used one like that to straighten the edge of his scythe after it was deformed by hitting a stone or small stump. You would sit on the ground, plant the sharp point into the dirt between your knees up until the loops would touch the surface (preventing it from going too far down). The top, narrow, flat part would be used to hammer flat the knock or bump made to the scythe by the rock. After this the scythe could be sharpened with a small sharpening stone. My father saw my grandfather use it many times to sharpen his scythe to cut the grass for hay. 🤓😊🤗🤗

You would never know from all of the right-wing leaning politics in France and across Europe that it's only a mere 80yrs since the D-Day landings. People have awfully short memories. Why so many are in such a rush to return to the conditions that led up to and including WWIII is completely beyond me. The young could be perhaps forgiven, but for the older generations, it's still within living memory, and they should know better.
