In my opinion, it is this type of video that separates the content creators from the content professionals. I view Marlena as a content professional for so many reasons! 😊
I love the old school tutorials. I miss those so much! I find myself going back to some of my favorite tutorials. Some from years and years ago. Not only to remind myself of techniques I haven't done in a while but just to get ready while watching my favorite beauty gurus get ready too.
I totally get you! Beauty gurus(even though they hated that term...normal ones at least) were like a different kind of species, in comparison to these "new ones". They were kind, weren't trying to sell you something, had a passion for what they were doing and they wanted to share their knowledge. They weren't influenced by money(well, YT wasn't monetised...but nevertheless, even if it had been, people were doing YT for a selfless reasons). Watching those videos gets me into special mental state. A good one.
I have a formal gala for work in October and I'm definitely going to do this eye look! I already know it'll look amazing!😉 Thanks for the great tutorial!
Can’t wait to try this look!! I really miss makeup geek products. My two large pallets are getting low and I have no idea of a good dupe for your eyeshadows. Maybe you can do video For this?😊
Awww this takes me all the way back to being 14 and learning how to do my makeup by watching your tutorials!! You’re truly such an OG in the makeup community Marlena, definitely keep the tutorials coming!! I basically learned how to do my makeup from you all the way back in 08 I totally forgot about makeup geek until you popped up on my feed just now 🤩🫶🏼 I’m gonna have to try this look now!!!
1. You are so pretty. 2. This was the best tutorial I’ve watched on eyes. Easy to follow, easy to execute. Which I appreciate both. As I’m in my 40s now 41 almost 42, I find myself looking for ways to bring my eyes more open and pulled up. Gravity is a real B. But I don’t have 10 years to do my makeup in the morning. I’m a hospice nurse and just schedule is busy. But I still want to feel good when I leave the house. I don’t wear makeup for anyone but myself. As long as I feel good in it, then I feel on 🔥.
Marlena you are and have been my all time favorite. Is there any way you could zoom in to see more of the details of your eye tutorials? Thank you so much.
I'd like to know how often you wash all your brushes?? My make-up one I wash regularly, but have separate ones for bronze and blushes (darker and lighter) and highlighter, I wash less often... and since getting the switch mat to brush out colours, I do the eyeshadow brushes least....is that reasonable or should they all be washed daily or weekly or????.
Love your videos and this tutorial! Can I ask though, is there a reason you didn’t verbally mention that the video was sponsored at the start of the video? Not trying to “catch you out” I know the FTC rules are complex, just trying to understand them
I can sort of do this on one side., but my other side is too hooded. I don’t know how to do a v shape when the majority of it is cut off when I open my eyes
Exactly they all just do trying new makeup in which they do an eye look but it’s more to review product and not about technique. Marlena is the queen 👸
I love tutorials, too! Hers are O.G.! And I like the shorts once in a while. She does her own thing and does it well, she isnt falling into trends, but things that actuallylook great. She doesn't want to do what everyone else is doing. She does her own thing, and I love it.
There are quick ones on TikTok! But I’m so appreciative of Marlena doing these again, she taught me everything 10+ years ago, and now I’m relearning to do makeup again after not wearing any for years.
I wish more creators would put out makeup tutorials. Thank you for this!!! Even though I have makeup experience, I super appreciate getting a fresh, new makeup tutorial to follow in 2023!
I am truly loving the old school makeup tutorials marlena. Please keep them coming. I love your video's, they're very in depth and very educational. I learn a lot from watching your video's. 😊❤
Thank you, Marlena, for never changing and always being a genuine person. I’ve watched you from the beginning and cheered for your success. But am so glad you’ve never let the success change you. You’re still the beautiful soul that we all love. ❤️
Great tutorial. I have a lot of mobile lid space but my lids droop on the outer corners. How would this work for me? Do I stop where the droop starts or carry the color onto the droopy outer corners? I hope these questions make sense and that you can help. Thanks Marlena
My just absolutely baffled that long format tutorials don't "bring in views!" I LOVVVE an in depth, real time application, tutorial! It's about learning, visualizing techniques, watching products perform, ease of use, etc. I will FOREVER be a fan of a traditional tutorial!
Great tutorial! It was easy to follow and you have such a soothing voice Marlena :D I am still a make-up novice so I am on the struggle-bus haha Thank you!
Thank you Marlena! I miss those tutorials that show lovely, more natural looks. Beautiful!❤ Can’t wait to try tomorrow morning! Will report back… LOL! 😅
I always put Foundation on my neck and chest if I'm going out 😊😊 We do our Makeup very Similar but I never thought of using lip balm as Blush but I am going to now 😅😊 I got two balms I just purchase from Ipsy I'm gonna try
I have been experiencing watering eyes the last yr or so and I HAVE to set my under eyes or it’s crevices not creases under my eyes , but what happens when my eyes water ……. It literally puts holes right in my tear trough area and looks absolutely horrible! What can I do to help the situation or is there even anything that can be done to fix it 🤷♀️. I need help so badly in this situation my under eyes are such a dark blue/purple and black colour that I need concealer and I have to set because I’m 47 never had Botox ( wish I could i afford it) so I have wrinkles not bad ones thank goodness but I do have them, so if I don’t set my concealer it’s all bunched and creased but then my eyes water and literally take everything away in that tiny area and it looks so horrible HELP PLZ what can I do ?
Thank you Miss Marlena! I wanna see your going to the grocery store makeup. Pretty please? I’m getting into light coverage face products--what do you love???
So the bottom lash line is only mascara? It looked like you also had some eyeshadow applied there? I wish you would have shown that part also to finish the eye look.
Hi Marlena, Thank you so much for ALL that we can learn with you and your videos 😊. Let me ask you, as a great specialist that I know you are: Is it better to apply the primer, with the brush (the one you used) or with our fingers? Or simply it is not that important for the best aplication of the foundation, that we are going to apply next? Thank you so much for your help. A big Kiss 😊
Marlena, i must say, you are such a beautiful woman!! I think you are such a true natural beauty, amd always do your makeup to compliment that!! 🥰😍 And i always appreciate your .akeup tips!!
I have a question. I want to start using foundation again, but I don’t know the best place to go and get my skin tone matched up correctly. Please can you recommend a good makeup place or brand????
omg i just felt so old, ahahaha when you said "we are not baking or doing too much powder like its 2016", I literally thought its not 1995, ahahah im 53 guys and back in the nineties we used to BAKE FOR REAL , so yea im laughing here on myself. excuse my bad english as well oh I love everything you do Marlena you are a treasure here on youtube🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Marlena I could watch you do makeup all day long! If you ever want a 61 yr old grandma who lives makeup for an illustration I volunteer!!! Plus I live close. Oh I’m dreaming but the way you apply and the finish look is always amazing! Thanks for the tutorial 💕💕💕
