Some of the characters in this anime are really powerful but thanks to the script they dont get the amount of love and development they deserve. A perfect example right here

I mean the fact that he's been cooked on every racing event they've had is kinda tragic. But his legs have literal engines in them so they are basically hard as steel I imagine.

Actually Lida's quirk is extremely useful. He doesn't need to use extreme fire power or kinetic force to move. He has more control while moving fast which gives him incredible dexterity. Instead of just slingshoting himself in one direction. He can use it anywhere while causing little to no damage to the environment or allies nearby.
Deku uses extreme strength to move quickly. While Lida uses engine combustion through a controlled system. The anime doesn't factor in the fact that Deku is putting tremendous pressure and force onto and into the things he touches with that much strength. When he jumps high in the air or when he runs with extreme speed, relize the amount of force that is required to achieve that. Lida doesn't use that kind of force because of the engines on his legs. So, no Lida's quirk is less stronger but more practical.
@@TheriopleOFA is meant to be busted, both Shoto and Bakugou are generational talents and are already better than MOST active heroes. Iida, would probably still be able to land a top hero spot, he's quite versatile and is enough for most street level threats.
How about Yoichi Shigaraki's quirk ? You can pass down your quirk, but you don't have anything useful to pass, you know. Oh and you're chopping in half the lifespan of whichever quirked you're granting it to. But to really visualize how useless it is, think about how one would figure out they had the quirk in the first place. The only way to figure it out would be to pass it down, in which case ... "Congratulations, you used to be quirked. Emphasis on 'Used to be' because, yeah, not anymore." 💀💀
Yes but that is entire point of it also one wasn’t as useless as we think i think base one for all is a some sort of physical enhancing quirk cuz allmight i think only used float which was his mentors quirk he wasn’t shown using any of the previous users quirks also the point of one for all is it gets stronger as it is passed on so my guess since yoichi was first user it was probably at its weakest state
The thing is that they are not just "fighting" characters, they are supposed to be heroes, so your point of view here is wrong and kind of toxic ("some guys are better than you at your thing so you are POINTLESS"). All the mentioned characters that are faster than Iida use their speed in fight, and their abilities are useful to defeat the bad guy and not so much to save people (they are also too busy with the villain to concentrate 100% in saving people), Iida uses his speed to actually SAVE people, heroes dont exactly need to be super strong, they need to save and protect. Thats why the GigaChad Best Jeanist is always up there in the hero ranking while his quirk is not that strong without gadgets.

as shown by one for all litterally, fajin/gear shift are boosted by one for all. fajin would almost certainly not be as fast without combining increases from one for all Sometimes i think the fandom forgets the actual quirk of one for all is the ability to increase your power. And then saying mirio is "more useful" that was after mirio suffered becasue his quirk was so useless it hurts him to use until he learned how to move without breathing consistently.

Right but given other hero’s can do the same thing but faster makes his quirk less valuable. Like it would be one thing if his speed was faster than everyone else but he’s not a speedster who’s getting out speeded by none speedsters.

Make him the Flash, isn't there no point to it? There are even bunch of people in their world that do not intend to use their powerful quirks to become heroes. Storywise, it's not always about quirks.

I kind of think about it like how there’s dozens of different quirks that do nothing but give the user super strength just a different degree depending on who’s using it. That would mean there’s so many redundant superstrength quirks that are done by others. Plus, the most redundant character in the entire series is the one that just has a tail.
I feel like your comparison doesn't fit Guns aren't useless because of Nukes simply because of the fact Nukes literally destroy EVERYTHING around it, no discrimination between allies or enemies Deku being able to move faster than Tenya *and* able to literally punt people through walls with a punch or kick makes his combat ability already much better than Tenya, because he isn't a berserker who attacks everything around him, which is what your comparison implies

Iida already can be developable ... He said his quirk's engine is actually like bone, each time you break it, after sometime, a new engine will grow, and the new engine is stronger and granting faster speed than the previous ... All he need is periodically destroy his engine, which is extremely painful like breaking an actual bone, let it grow into new engine, then repeat this process again and again and again ...

Technically speaking, with assistance, Iida committed the greatest speed feet in anime during the Deku hunt in season six. The more impressive part is that he (admittedly while wearing his armour) withstood the incredible air resistance from such speed. I did all the maths and stuff back when the episode first came out, if anyone's interested I can try finding it again
He can move about 100 mph with recipro in the early season’s 1-2, and is still the fastest because of his camp training. Then in season 5, he’s compared to Gran Torino speeds and is STILL not definitively said slower than Deku who is moving bout Mach 1ish with his stockpile development at 20% control at that point. The development in MHA is CRAZY fast on physical feats.
His quirk gets stronger when removing the engines so stronger ones grow back. He could theoretically keep taking them off to get stronger or augment himself like a car

I think they're trying to make the point that, for example, if the Flash was really fucking fast, but he was outsped by Superman or other superhuman characters his power would be underwhelming as a whole. If All Might was still in his prime, this would be a non-issue. You're always going to want the best of the best to do a task. The B squad is an acceptable replacement at times, but once you get to the C squad, you're not expecting much. Their heart is there, but you don't expect much from them. The point is, as a hero... and a class 1-A student at that. If your entire quirk revolves around one aspect, you had better be better than someone whose power or quirk isn't specifically that. For example,... You JUST compared 2 speedsters. You didn't compare Jay Garrick to Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne, etc.

He became faster all of that and managed to catch up to Deku. Yes it was a team effort, but the fact that he went faster means that that is his actual full speed.
I would like to remind people that there is a girl who’s quirk is quite literally turtling her body parts, she can’t use it for combat except dodging, and it takes a few seconds for her to actually get her body parts back out. She is quite literally useless in a fight because she CANNOT attack with her quirk.

That’s why he’s constantly trying to be faster and faster, that’s the point, he becomes progressively faster and dangerous and it’s his specialty, he can be faster with training and probably will have no limits with more improvements, the others are faster NOW, but it’s not the focus of their powers.
@@CrazyDino698 Yup, plus I like to point out that he has stated it takes him time to get up to gear. During the sprint test he noted he couldn't get past third gear in the distance given. This means he needs to get into higher gear to reach top speed, plus he is constantly fighting his quirk overheating, and we get a glimps of his brother using his quirk and having control issues at higher speeds, faster the flight less left and right kind of deal.
If class 1-A were the Ginyu Force from dbz, Ida would be Burter. Constantly saying he is the fastest in the universe while people stronger than him are obviously also faster than him. And Mineta would be Guldo😅

The only reason the three was ahead of him in sports festival is because of the mines. He will trigger them if he use his quirk. Bakugo can fly, todoroki can slide without triggering the bombs and deku is just really smart. And the competition in the pool is just a filler. You do know that Iida is always use like a booster right? If you've read the latest manga then you should know how fast he is.
Just because someone else is faster doesn't make you useless. Heroes can't be everywhere at once so Iida or Deku still need help from each other to maximize their efforts when multiple things are happening at once.
In the “swimming” competition it looks like Iida is only using one of his legs since he’s standing on a slim platform so I don’t think that’s the most fair comparison
Itself the real strentgh of their family quirk is show more in the Vigilantes spin-off, is the homogeneity of it and constancy of it, it's practically the same between the siblings, and for it, they could develop a support system and standarised manouvers. For it Ida is the only one that recibe specific advise in how to manage his quirk to get the most of it, max eficiency with the less risk(what is his brother speciality) Besides have a already tested support equipment. PD: for what we see in vigilant Ida's brother Center more in Chase, rescue and reduce colateral damage, rather than quirk Power or get to the top, it's a profesional with a complete opposite phylosofy to Endevoar
He gets super speedy when he goes all out, like seriously fast. There's a point when he's zooming between buildings almost like he's flying. And then you've got Todoroki and Iida teaming up with the Ice Jet move - pretty cool stuff!
The difference between those situations. One izuku had full use of his enhanced by all for one. While he had to stand in a t-pose to balance and forced to rely solely on the thrust of his engines what happened to make sure he said balance on the Bowie rope. I highly doubt he could go on his full speed in that situation. Then there's the obstacle course race. This ain't like a flat corse race. Around a jogging track. There were plenty of obstacles that would slow me him Tenya Iida down. Todoroki could literally power through all the obstacles. The cramped tunnel he literally froze most of the competitors in place to slow them down. Even if Iida didn't get caught he would still have to worry about things like the giant 0 pointers blocking his way. The giant canyon with the only way for him to cross is to cross on the chains between each pillar. Then there's the minefield he had no way to cross that safely until todoroki starting making an ice path and there's no guarantee that is safe either because trying to run on super fast speeds while on ice could cause him to fall straight into the mines. As for bakugo he literally has the power to fly with his explosions meaning he could literally just fly over the obstacles and don't slow down.
Recipro turbo goes brrrr and actually takes idas speed and power to the top of his class alongside the big 4. Hell he even was able to temporarilly match power with chimera when he over powered his tail strike with his kick.

Comparative advantage. Having Ida around to take point on things like scouting, interception, and street-level capture frees up more heavy hitters to take on upper tier threats.
