I just want to say that S & H is a fantastic dealer. We had an issue with a Kioti CTL. The thing was a lemon. Just didn't work right, and nobody could figure out the issue. They took care of everything. Loaner machines while the Kioti was in the shop, delivered.. never without a machine. They eventually bought it back at full price and got us an incredible deal on a New Holland. Buying a brand new machine, especially an unproven one like the Kioti CTL was kind of scary. When our worst fears were realized, we were very worried that we would take a loss on the machine or be stuck with a lemon. S & H did right by us and we will never shop anywhere else for equipment. I know this sounds like a commercial, but we have been so imoressed by them, and I can't help telling everyone when I get the chance. Dealer is way more important than the brand.

Hi Brock while I agree with you that the JCB appears to be a very versatile machine. You have discounted the million more things that a mini excavator can accomplish. Your emphasis is on digging; while, the mini excavator can raise building walls, get shingles on a roof, stack up a fire. I had a Kubota Kx057-5 and except for grading the driveway with my tractor, the excavator has been the most useful piece of equipment I have. I fact my neighbor just bought a Kubota u48-5 and has transformed his property. You videos are great.

Make a skid steer with similar engine layout and seat positioning as the JCB, BUT with the ability to run all tractor attachments in the rear. That is why I bought a tractor instead of a skidsteer. Better versatility and I can carry more stuff with my tractor (I made a 3pt carryall box that holds shovels, chainsaws etc). Love a skid steer, but if does just a few things great. I would have to make multiple runs to bring all skid steer attachments to the site. If you have a tractor than add a excavator to your toys then a skid steer depending on what your needs are.

It’s a very interesting looking machine but I honestly don’t see any use for it. I would rather have a skid steer and a mini excavator and a long trailer. The ability to swing a boom 180° with a mini excavator is just priceless to me.

I be the R&D department at JCB is a cool place to work. This and the teleskid are really innovative. Wondering if the extendahoe feature prevents use of a hydraulic thumb… that would certainly be a desirable feature.

JCB has really gone downhill on reliability, I’ve had two 570-80 telehandlers for my hay business and they were not great. I do love there mono boom skid steer though. Most JCB dealers are upfront about reliability issues as of late. JCB redesigned the Fasttrac because they had lost so many sales to competitors. Setting all that side, this machine is very cool. Can you imagine having a thumb on the excavator and grabble on the front? That would be a nice land clearing machine.

Not only lack of quality, but awful parts availability, and their service department can't figure out what's wrong. Furthermore, he specified he needed the equipment to perform a specific task, they provided equipment that didn't meet the specifications, requiring individual handling of fractions of a pallet rather than handling the pallet as a single whole unit. Totally fine if you're an individual and the end user, but if you're in a business that might have need to move multiple of that pallet in a day, your work load has quadrupled.

Basically this or Mecalac, they approach the problem from opposite ends, this is a skid steer that has an excavator on the back, and Mecalac is an excavator that allows you to use it as a Skid Steer.

It’s kind of cool, I like how short it is but it’s got a loader like a tractor kind of more so than a skid steer and a backhoe so it’s kind of like a tractor on tracks kind of jammed close together with a cab, especially with the motor in the front. I like that it’s small but still has high flow.

Hi, I have a New Holland skid steer and a mini skid on order. I'm looking at an excavator. My equipment never travels. If I were starting out would look at this machine. I like the side entry. You can not safely walk under a loaded boom. A front entry loader makes that difficult. Especially if you're bucking logs with a grapple at waste height. I like the mini skids be cause of manuverable, powerful and one step, on and off. Shalom/gw

Hey Brock, what is the hydraulic flow to the back of the machine? The front is 27 GPM like you mentioned but I don’t remember you mentioning the exact flow to the boom/stick.

A neat machine. But, it surprises me that ROTO-TILT is never shown in American videos of construction machinery. A mini or wheeled excavator with a root tilt can do all this and much more

Yeah, I don't think that leg space would be comfortable for long jobs. I think it would actually be painful after some time. That alone would be a reason I wouldn't choose this machine. I do like the concept though.

Just wait until the backhoe kingpost starts leaking or the hydraulic pump blows up you'll be motherfuckering it in no time. Ive replaced 3 pumps in one with less than 65 hours on it. They're shit even for a jcb.

If that machine had a hydraulic boom shift rather than having to push or drag it side to side it woukd have increased itd usefulness by a fair bit. It didn't even need to be any amazing feats of engineering it could have just been a small hydraulic motor and a piece of cable looped around it once and attached either side simple engineering like they once used on side shift forklifts. Something in my opinion that would have made the machine that much better .

I would never buy a JD due to 2 factors 1 moving to Mexico 2 third party mechanics cant fix any software issues mostly farm equipment not sure about construction equipment. That quick release can be an option

Feels like a tracked backhoe to me. I think having the correct truck and trailer has a lot to do with two pieces of equipment. If you can’t afford the right truck or trailer I see how this appeals people. I just don’t like JCB reliability and service.

For a machine with this cost, there's no reason the lateral shift of the backhoe boom should be essentially manual. It should be hydraulically operated, period.

@@whiskeyinthejar24 I don’t think one Ram is what would be required. I think it would require a lot of things. You probably need two to make it slide and not bind. Then you need the hoses and you need the electronics to control it. Get much easier. You’re still just moving your lever to move the boom sideways. It’s not like you have to manually do something. They just used the cylinders that are already on it.

Good afternoon Brock. I can't speak of the quality or durability of JCB equipment but I also believe that the consept would be a great alternative for the average small property owner if it was on par with a compact tractor in price which at this point, it is not. It's a great concept but it's too small for commercial use and too expensive for the small property owner which I believe is a shame. Just one old man's opinion. New machines are for making money for people in a business. Using tax write offs , low down time and warranty are some benefits. Used machines make better sense for those not in a business. Think twice about spending lots of money for new unless you really need to.

My Equipment is state of the art. There was an issue with the gimbal on one camera that was causing some shuttering and I had to crop in to stabilize it

I would strongly consider buying this machine if it was made by almost any company except JCB. They're unreliable, they're hard to work on, and they have some of the worst dealer and parts service in the country. JCB stands for Junk Coming from Britian, and for good reason.

They seem more concerned with making sure everything they build has summering like a 48/48 powershift with all kinda electronics and tiny little gears to smash. Just so they can brag 70+ KPH down the highway. Meanwhile you miss a shift and those speeds you're snapping out in half.

Versatile, but reportedly unreliable - several people have spoken badly about the build quality. One person described several serious problems in the first 200 hours of operation. This machine has been in production for over a decade - initially only in the wheeled version - and I have not heard of any problems in the European version (older models), and in the US market several people have spoken badly about it.

Gimmicky pile of junk, especially at $84k!!! I can't imagine not being able to stretch out the feet nor see the edge of the bucket. All those switches, wires, and electronics will be troublesome and make you hate the machine. For that money, and a bit of patience, could buy a low hour CTL, mini-x, used trailer, and roadworthy truck to pull it!

Novelty item, only good for small 1 man jobs. For bigger jobs you would want both a skidsteer and mini ex and have both operating at the same time. 1 digging, 1 transporting and grading. Yes you transport 2 pieces of equipment, but you get done 2-4 times as fast and can in some cases get more than 1 job done a day.

Running it as a demo multiple times. There’s a reason why you never see them on the back of trailers. I’ll stick with a skid and mini ex any day even if I have to maintain 2 machines.
