Because Jackie Shroff produced this film who was working with amitabh in an art film called Agnivarsha at that time. Jackie shroff was going through economic crisis and needed a hit. No matter how b grade this film looks, this movie was made at a budget of 10 crores and he became bankrupt after this film

The movie was actually a remake of American Beauty with Kevin Spacey played the lead role later it was done in Hindi with amitabh , American Beauty is quite good

If you see the movie carefully which I think you wouldn't but still , Katrina Kaif looks the most uncomfortable in the whole movie......whereas the other actresses Padma Lakshmi and Madhu sapre are very comfortable.......it's. Hilarious with very bad acting.....even they were wearing see thru clothes I one scene.....

I personally think that the Indian audience was not ready for this film back then and still not ready I would say .. This movie genre is called black comedy . Even tho the movie execution was quite poor but still they nailed the black comedy genre.. Again if there are people who are into black comedy stuff they're gonna love it .
