It’s just a version of a hook lift waste truck or cable pull waste truck, as has already been said we haven’t seen it unload. Presumably it will need to be pulled back while paying out the winch cable. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good effort but needs enhancements.
That is slick. I don’t even ride a motorcycle but could see this having possibilities for loading just about anything you could strap down to that platform.

I have thought about coming up with something like this for my motorcycle which is why I researched on youtube and yes I agree with you, I need this for other things..very handy!!
I laughed out loud when I saw this. The "commercial" lifts cost a fortune and you built one for almost nothing. Nice job! Thanks for the video, it was really enjoyable to watch!
You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me!
$3k is a fortune? That's what a nice open bike trailer costs. This thing is going to remove someone's finger when it starts loading crooked and they reach over to guide it.
@@hitop2365 tilting bed?? Air suspension?? I think that'd be overcomplicating it a bit. Why not just let the winch out and pull on the back a little, it's on rollers so it's not going to be incredibly difficult to slide out
@@imthedarknight-8755 Probably depends how much it’s being used? Pulling it out manually may come with risks either standing in the line of fire or pulling from an angle possibly risking back injury.
observation: As a jerry-rigger guy I'd say nice job but one possible negative. . . Requires lots of holes in new $70k truck beds. That aside I'm a fan of trailers. I encourage guys to drop $3k on a cool safe trailer. Bling it out a little with upgraded bed and stuff. You'll forget the cost on the first use. And you can still use your truck bed for coolers and gear. Meant nicely.
I bet you could make a steel or even wood frame with rollers on it to lay in your bed without having to permanently attach it. If it fit snuggly around the wheel wells I think you'd be fine.
@@joshdemarco9270 Maybe sir but think of all the free space with a trailer. Try it once and you are convinced.I'm like George Carlin. I like "my stuff" on a trip. The 7-0's George before he was a total a$$hole.
@@itsruf1 I like the idea of a trailer, but free space is the exact reason I've never considered owning one. The plywood idea could be leaned up against the wall in a garage, a trailer is going to hog all kinds of space while it sits unused most of the time
@@joshdemarco9270 Currently I have a flatbed a dumper and a small enclosed. . YET no trailer is ever quite right. You want another often . But at least a start is a start. Generally a guy who buys one says Why did I wait to long? But the guy up there is doing good. No bashing. I can't judge.

Just on the thumbnail, I thought, "What are the hillbillies up to now?" Very impressed! You thought of the pins to lock, the power cable, multiple rollers..... Thoughtful and well executed. Love it.

I’m an old guy, 60 but I still ride off road. What I can’t do any more is push my bikes up a ramp to get it in the truck, getting it out isn’t a problem yet but not as easy as it used to be. This looks to be a perfect solution to my problem and I think I will build a version for my dirt bikes. Thanks for the inspiration and great job on the lift.

Having had an unloading fail myself, this caught my attention. Plywood and rusty steel looks way better than my new bike doing a half twist onto my driveway.

Nice! For those that can’t weld or want permeant brackets welded in the bed use nut-certs the bed rollers can be bolted in and off when needed or not. I have a simpler setup in a work van.
Brilliantly simple. Throw a coat of paint on that to make it look pretty. The tailgate reinforcement is important. With a rig like that, every mate in the bike club will be wanting a pickup at some stage. Love the recessed bolt threads. Lookup rivnuts. They make for quick easy remove anchor points in truck beds.
Awesome ! My only constructive suggestion would be to add some straps from the platform base to the handlebars. I know you have the front wheel locked in place with a cradle, but the added straps would help maintain the m-cycle upright in case you have an emergency swerve condition while driving. Well done with the yellow tailgate support bars, left+right. Never trust the steel cable alone. Very Nice..... Very Nice. 👍
Freaking brilliant man… By the way, we all like your truck as well… And your bike! They say the mother of invention is necessity… But it still takes a good measure of intelligence, ingenuity, and perseverance… And you good Sir, have it! Nice Job!
Good idea and design. If you wanted to you could run the wench cable through a block and tackle and a snatch block for loading heavier loads like mulch, dirt, or gravel with a bolt on dump container. I mean, if you wanted too.

Very cool man! Seems like if you cut the front of the platform into a v shape and throw some wheels on the platform you wouldn’t need to permanently scar that absolutely beautiful truck. You’d also be able to make this idea universal to any truck with the exception of a winch. But that way the truck can still be put to work on the week days, and quickly be ready for play on her off days... Either way... I’m super jealous about that truck
I'm working on a bolt in frame for the bed for people that don't want to drill the rivet nuts into the bed. The wheels and winch in the bed can be removed in 5 minutes. The variation in bed width between wheel wells means there still needs to be some modularity for it to fit all trucks, also working on that... Thanks for watching and commenting!

Very nice thinking. I had the same problem and solved similarly with a ramp and winch. Mine does not have a platform like yours so I still have to walk it up. I all so used some 2x6 and 4x4 to make front wheel chocks.
I made a similar thing to tow my bike up into my G10 work van. I used a spreader bar hooked to allthread through the front axle hole. and an ATV winch between the seats. I had to walk it up but, it sure made life easier on my arthritic old ass. ZX14R is pretty heavy for a run up the ramp and duck style loading that I used to do.
Final version with a solution to tailgate reinforcement! And a website with plans available. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PhYCe2LrflA.html
Every biker with a truck has longed for a way to single handedly load his bike into the bed. This method is pretty good. But I've always wondered if there isn't some kind of lifting wheel method still to be discovered. I picture 2 old fashioned wagon wheels with a platform, on the ground in between the wheels. You roll the bike on the platform, roll the big wheels forward toward the truck bed, and the bike comes up, slides forward, and lands in the truck just as the wagon wheels hit the tailgate. Sounds crazy but I can dream, can't I.
Hey man maybe just get the rust off all the parts, but i tell you ,you done a fantastic job , very good way to load your bike thank you for the videos regards Robert
Great Job! Very Impressed. I was even looking at your design and thinking 🤔 like with some simple add ons that could be removed you can use that concept for alot of other things to get up in the bed.. Want to see more DIY

fkn awesome piece of ingenuity! You just sparked my copy-cat instinct. I was playing around with a winch to help pull my bike up on the hitch-mounted carrier, but this is also worth my 'project powers' too
That was fascinating and ingenious from a do it yourself point of view. Best part is it does what you wanted it to do. I just bought a trailer and am going to put a Pit Bull rear wheel stand on it...it just doesn’t get any easier on you or the bike. Nice job and video. Thanks for sharing!
I recommend subbing the welding out to a welder; other than that great engineering. for those wondering how to offload, here are three do it by self ways, 1) the fast, hard and damaging way, full throttle reverse slam breaks and close eyes. And 2) the slow, soft and gentle way, attach rear of sled by a strap to the bottom of a pole or tree, drive forward keeping eyes open and slowly cable out the wench until sled is gently on the ground. Both methods work well one just has a better result. 3) rig a shive to the base of pole or tree, thread wench line through the shive and attach to back of sled cable in sled comes out just remember to give enough room between truck and pole for the sled to fit.
Thanks - check out the v2 video for more patient welds. The rollers are all ball bearings, it pulls out easily like a drawer by hand even with a heavy load (assuming the truck is close to flat).

I had a Silverado Ex-cab that I installed a full air-ride system, c-notched the frame and put in a 4 link. I could lift the front and drop the rear of the frame onto the ground. Made loading my dirtbike really easy. Never tried getting my CBR on it though.
Thats nifty. I run a 7.3ps f350 cab n chassis dually and so i can load stuff i got h.f. truck bed crane and i have picked a little over 500lbs 6ft off the side. Do what ya gotta do and works
