I could care less what you wear - as long as it ain't bare skin. You wear what you like, not what some low-life 'snob' thinks you should wear. I watch you for the info, not for a fashion show. :) Keep up the good work Sam.

@Ray While I think what you have said about Smart is true, it is not a requirement that everybody make example setting strictly logical purchases. Otherwise there would only be about 5 models of car on the market. If a Smart or a Ferrari or a Pinto appeals to you and you are willing to accept the consequences, it doesn't reflect on your qualifications to make honest reviews of other cars.

Cool handlebar-esque stache/beard. Cool that you always change it up too. And I appreciate that the language in your videos, at some point, got more “frank”.

Sam, you are such a commoner. You cannot possibly understand the prestige of buying the $38,000 pinnacle of luxury that is the MKZ. They have perks like roadside service anywhere such as the overpass, a Walmart where you buy fine Timex chronographs and even 100 yards outside of the dealer lot when you first buy one and the electrics go mad. It’s an experience to last a lifetime. And one you’ll never experience. Ha! And for the sake of humanity wear a tuxedo from now on. Sincerely, Harry Higgenbottom III Keep it up Sam. Your true ‘commoner’ fans like myself will keep tuning in.

LoL - Someone is definitely full of themselves! There was a time when Lincoln was a reputable luxury car manufacturer. They haven't been that for a long time now. I'm saddened by that, actually. I'm saddened that Ford hasn't made more of an effort to maintain the marque as it should have been. Oh well. As for wardrobe? Really? Now that I think about it, which is something it never occurred to me to do until now, you generally seem to dress in pretty much the same way all the time, with the possible exception of the Mercedes convertible review you referenced. Either way, I watch your videos for the car/truck reviews, not to critique your dressing habits. Keep up the good work!

Wow this segment has been long overdue. Glad to see you doing one again. You had me rolling on your response to a few of the comments but that last comment response had my sides aching. That lincoln Snob only cares about what your wear on a car review channel (mind you this is not a wardrobe channel). The description you give that commenter was highly appropriate. Thanks for the hard work you do and keep 'em coming Sam.

Don’t we watch your reviews for your opinion and critical analysis ? If we want a simple description of the car by a suit-wearing person, we can watch the ads... From the 70´s ! Keep up the good work for the rest of us Sam. Cheers

Regarding extended warranties - I would almost say people should buy them in general. Vehicles have so much technology in them that it is expensive to repair what the general x year/y miles warranty covers - which is not everything. It's like having medical insurance - you pay each month in the hope you never need it, but you are usually glad you have it when you need that $200,000 surgery.

Especially important with luxury vehicles. Jag, Land Rover, Mercedes, BMW. Those cars can bankrupt you in the first 100k miles.

I've never been an extended warranty person either but when I bought my old mopar 11 charger I went ahead and went with one. I'm so glad I did, that lemon went through tons of major repairs and the warranty ended up paying for itself within just a few months of owning the car.

I’ve always wondered about that advice, to have a mechanic look a your potential used car purchase. Who has a relationship with their mechanic like that? If any of you do, I’d honestly like to hear about it. What mechanic would take hours out of their busy day to run around with you to look at cars?
@palebeachbum
@palebeachbum 5 лет назад
I lived in a small town. I had a regular mechanic who did all my families maintenance and repairs on our vehicles. If i was buying a used car locally, I'd drive the car to him to inspect. That's generally independent used car inspections work.
@danielc3321
@danielc3321 5 лет назад
Thanks for the input. What if you don’t have a mechanic though? I’ve leased my past two cars, but I’m thinking about buying used next time.
@palebeachbum
@palebeachbum 5 лет назад
@@danielc3321 I don't know what your budget is, but I recommend buying a used car that still has the remainder of the factory warranty. For example, I know Kia and Hyundai come with a 5 year 60000 mile powertrain warranty for used buyers.

I like that Toyota's philosophy seems to be "don't fix it if it ain't broke". Some of the most dependable vehicles out there and some of the most dependable vehicles I've personally ever owned were long in the tooth. The flashy vehicles that change every 2-4yrs are the ones that seem to be the biggest headaches. Whether or not people have a mechanic inspect a used car before buying it, it is good practice. You don't have to bring a mechanic with you car shopping. You bring the car to them. That's how I've done it in the past. These were old use cars though, not sitting on new car dealer lots. So yes, generally speaking it's a bad idea to buy a used car without inspecting it first. It's like buying a house without getting a home inspection first. You're taking a big risk. If it's a relatively new used car, I probably wouldn't sweat it, personally. Purchasing an extended warranty is a gamble. It's basically insurance. If you don't use it, it's a waste of money. If you do use it, you get more than your money's worth. Back about 15yrs ago I had a CD player installed in my car at Best Buy. I bought the extended warranty. That was a waste of money. In 2012 I bought a new TV and purchased a pricey extended warranty. Just shy of 1yr later, the picture went out on the TV. The extended warranty covered the $1200 repair. Worth every penny, since the warranty cost far less than a replacement TV. As for that Dennis the Menace commenter, he sounds like a real piece of work. A snob. He values people's worth on their appearance, rather than what they actually have to offer. Intellectually challenged perhaps. Yes, Sam isn't a snappy dresser, but he's a good presenter. If he wore a suite and tie in every video, I'd probably think he's a stuffy asshole who needs to loosen up, like Dennis the Menace.
