Huh. Never thought of that. That's honestly really bittersweet and adds quite a bit of hope to their break up. That's a shame I didn't get that, as I actually like a lot of the other optimistic things this film added to the story. Cratchit being given coworkers whom he helps get through the workday and vice versa, Present being more loving and father-like to Scrooge and encouraging him to follow the Yet to Come as he "dies", Yet to Come taking Scrooge's arm when taking him to the future and letting him cry on top of him, one of the charity heads giving Scrooge a red scarf showing him the joy of receiving things out of love, Fezziwig/Fozziwig and his headmaster being alive so he can give them presents, Emily getting defensive of her husband when Scrooge pretends to get mad at Bob. I think that's why this one is so popular. Other adaptations would put a little too much emphasis on the darkness of the story that they forget this is supposed to be about seeing the best in humanity, while this one puts as much emphasis on helping Scrooge care for mankind.
This movie is dedicated not only to Jim Henson, but also to Richard Hunt, another Muppeteer who died a year after Henson. Hunt played Scooter, Janice, Beaker, Statler, Sweetums, and others.
If you're curious, the licensed adaptations of Christmas Carol over time include a great Looney Tunes version, an Animaniacs episode, The Flintstones, an episode of The Jetsons, a Scooby-Doo special where they try to perform it as a play and get interrupted by a ghost dressed like the Grim Reaper but white cloak, a CGI Barbie special, a DIC version with Tim Currey as Scrooge, and an awful straight to video All Dogs Go To Heaven version. (Just to name a few overall...)
the man in the santa suit that appears at this moment 3:08 is brad jones also known as the cinema snob he is one of the first members of the team of that guy with the glasses that doug formed and that given the changethechannel controversy is now the only one of that team of youtubers that stayed with doug after that hard blow to channel awesome. Apart from making cameos in the nostalgia critic show he currently makes videos on his own channel stoned gremlin productions yes that is the name of the channel is honestly quite creative haha there with his character as the cinema snob he review obscure movies that you probably haven't heard, horror movies, classic movies, musicals yes, for a month he reviews music and more notably porn yes porn but he only reviews the plots without showing the sex scenes although he gives his comment to them his character It is basically that of a smug critic who loves to make sarcastic or irreverent jokes to the movies he criticizes with other characters making an appearance in among them brad jones cat lloyd a siames cat who usually shows up to make jokes at brad's expense who is also the face of the channel if one day you are curious you can react to one of his videos of course if you want.
and speaking of brad jones (the cinema snob) you can check out a crossover he did with doug (nostalgia critic) from a movie called that darn cat is a disney remake centered on a cat that helps solve a kidnapping yes that's as crazy as it sounds But I know you'll love it because it has Brad and Doug cats lloyd and chaplin acting like a buddy duo in a comedy It's great it even has cameos from tamara and malcoln's cats. I hope you can react to that video and regarding this movie yes in many people's eyes it might not be a masterpiece but honestly it's a very sweet adaptation when you know that michael caine made this movie so his daughters could see it since his filmography is not kid friendly and That is why he has said that this is one of the movies in which he has worked that that he considers one of his favorites and the performance in it shows it as scrooge you can see that michael is embracing his inner child enjoying working with the muppets.
One of my favorite versions. I'm working on doing my own interpretation of Christmas Carol this year with a few friends and seeing these adaptations and reviews every year makes me very happy to see.
Yet another note is this has one of my least favorite Christmas Past designs, I have no idea why they went with that look. Present and Future are good but most versions have really bizarre Christmas Past characters.
@@lolasroom7171 i had the dvd of it when I was about 3 and loved it but I lost it Then when I was about 8 I remembered only a little bit of the film and wanted to watch it again so I searched for it And when I was 9 I found 1 copy of the DVD and bought it and watched it a few times and loved it And now I wanna watch it again after about 2 years
