Maybe it’s just their way of grieving.
@coryCuc
@coryCuc 2 года назад
@@KamrynnASMR I get it. Some would post about it. Other's wouldn't. What I don't get is if the family was going to post about it, why didn't they just agree to be a part of the film and their side of the story would have been included in the film and every time someone watched it, viewers would know there was more to the story than what is being told. But instead they declined (I know the reasons, but the reasons just don't make sense) and then make tiktok videos explaining what they could have explained in the film? It just doesn't make sense. For one it's not a documentary. It's not meant to be a factual record of events from both sides. It has an angle. It has a focus (which is the sleep walking defense). This is more of a show/movie etc... But second, they only focused on the defendant because he was using a defense that not many people have used. This film wouldn't have been produced had he used virtually any other defense other than "sleepwalking." That's why the film was made and received the publicity it did. I totally agree with you...I've never lost a loved one, so I have no idea how I'd react if the producers called and wanted to do a show/movie on their murder, that's for sure.

Hulu did asked them to be a part of it and they decided not to do it because they didn't want to revive/relive the trauma, but here they are doing the same but on their terms; but I do understand they not wanting to be part of something that tries to humanize the killer of their daughter/sister. Kendall acknowledge it at the end of this video. My brother was also killed, in June 2016 and even though the police know who did it because the have the killer's electronic monitor device route placing him the day of the murder at the exact place where my brother's body was found -he was found 5 days later- and where my brother's car was found totally incinerated; they deemed it "circumstantial evidence" and he's out on parole for other crimes and never charged with my brother's homicide.. As someone who sleep walks and I’ve even attacked my husband ( one time I ripped a walking hanging off the wall above us and dropped it on him, another time I started hitting and punching his arm), I call BS on him remembering everything leading up to the murder but not the murder. I’ve never remembered anything real when sleep walking, but I do vividly remember the dream & my actions in real life did not mirror my dreams. Now, for her not seeing him sleep walk in 6 months, it’s probably she never did, even if he has a history of it. It’s also possible he could be sleep walking in his room at night and no one would know. I’ll go months and months between sleep walking sessions and I’ve never been able to open the door, just bang on it and scream. My poor husband, thankfully he is understanding and a good sport. I have suggested separate beds, but he doesn’t want to do that and I don’t either
@brittanyreed4377

Random question that doesn’t have anything to do with this case but my 3 year has bad night terrors, like to the point his body gets tense and he shakes and screams and will look at you but will look terrified and you can tell he isn’t aware he’s looking at you..the more you try to calm him down the more scared he gets. Talking to doctors and doing my own research I’ve heard it’s considered a sleeping disorder, since you talked about sleep walking is there anything you can do to wake someone up or help them in that situation considering they aren’t aware of what’s really going on? I know sleep walking is different than night terrors but I would assume people would need to handle someone the same way who is going through that. Does it make is worse to wake someone up or is it best to just keep them from hurting themselves? Sorry for such a random question but I hate it when he has them and I feel helpless like there isn’t anything I can do to help him and the more I try to wake him up the worse it is
@CristinSierra
@CristinSierra 2 года назад
@@brittanyreed4377 honestly I don’t now a lot about sleeping walking from a medical stand point, idk what the best option is. I guess as a kid I would sleep walk sometimes and my mom would just guide me back to bed, but it was never a bad dream. With my husband it’s always been a bad dream, and I’m in fight or flight mode. The one where I dropped a ripped a wall hanging off the wall and dropped it on him, then picked my night stand out causing a giant gash and bruise on my leg and then started banging the door and screaming, I was dreaming that a man has broken into our home and was standing over me thinking I was asleep. In my dream, which was very much reality, I thought I had the upper hand, and decided to attack him while he thought I was sleeping. I was right in the middle of jumping on this man, when my husband in reality flipped the lights on. It was a very jarring experience, to be pushed from what you thought was reality into actually reality. It caused me to collapse in a heap on the floor and hyperventilate. But the way I was screaming and destroying the room he thought I was actually being attacked and didn’t know what was going on. As for when I punched his arm, he said I never woke up and just rolled back over. When he asked me about it in the morning, I told him I had a dream ( again ver vivid) that a ground hog was digging under our garage foundation and I went out back to kill it before it ruined our foundation 🤷‍♀️. I’m not sure if that helps or gives any insight…..I think the best opting is to take it on a base by base situation. If he seems to be a danger to him self or others, wake him up. If he’s just incoherent and wondering around, guide him to bed 🤷‍♀️. Hopefully you’ll be able to find a solution. Umm, also, you might ask him ( if he can verbally yell you), if anything has been bothering, stressing, or upsetting him. Little kids can get stressed over what we think are little things, and can easily over look them. Or maybe you know if somthing stressful going on. Personally, if I’m stressed I’m more likely to have a sleep walking episode.

@@brittanyreed4377 hey! I suffered from night terrors for awhile when I was younger so maybe I can provide insight. Don’t try to wake them up- it will only cause anxiety and definitely do NOT restrain them because you will get hurt or they will get hurt. Best thing you can do is reassure them, try to keep a consistent bed time schedule especially if they are young, and make sure they aren’t overtired. If the night terrors always happen at the same time each night, my mom would try to wake me up around 20 minutes before and it would prevent them 9/10 times. Talk in a coal voice too. Don’t try to wake them, but their brain somehow still processes that there is a soothing presence and it will calm down the activity. You can also try to turn the lights on to prevent anxiety and confusion from shadows. But what really stopped mine was buying a fan. I know it sounds stupid, but warm temperatures are proven to influence night terrors. Having a colder room and a little buzzing noise helped a lot. Hope this helps a little!

There’s so many holes to this “sleepwalking” theory. He said he remembers being invited out to breakfast but declined the invite and then later on he texts her to come back to get a t-shirt. That’s the fact that disturbs me the most. He knew she wasn’t home and invited her to come back to the house for a shirt. How could he possibly be asleep if he was able to send her a message asking her to come back to the house. I don’t buy it.

I don’t know if it is proper etiquette to do this but if you are looking for a supplement to Kendall who is amazing sherrilyn dale is also taking this approach by allowing people to write in with their own stories and just like Kendall she is giving the victims back their voice and calling out the perpetrators for what they are.

Ignoring all other details (I really do think he did it), I wonder if he had any underlying sleep disorders or was on any medication. Reason being, I was on adderall for years (around 10 years at the time of my story) and about 5 years ago I was experiencing extreme fatigue where I could barely stay awake if I didn’t have adderall in my system, I could even take 40 mg and fall back asleep (I also used to sleepwalk as a child and would wake up with crumbs in my bed). I did a sleep study and the technician told me I was asleep and had entered rem cycle in under 8 minutes and she had never seen anything like it before. I typically would fall asleep in under 5 minutes when I didn’t have any in my system and would sleep for 10+ hours only to wake up, use the bathroom, eat, and go back to sleep. I have since stopped taking the medication and switched to another brand because I couldn’t function on that medication anymore, but I would be curious to know if he was on any medication at the time of this murder.

The fact that he remembers giving Brooke the shirt, hugging her, and telling her goodbye proves he wasn’t asleep during that interaction. Then he somehow immediately fell asleep after she left his room and entered a state of sleep deep enough to sleepwalk. Also, how convenient that he stayed asleep while brutally murdering someone who would have fought back and cut himself in the process only to wake up directly after. All while having no other incidents of sleepwalking around this time. Sure.
@kamaropayne5226
@kamaropayne5226 2 года назад
I had this exact same thought, and wondered if it’s physiologically possible for him to have been in a deep enough sleep to be ‘sleep walking’ only minutes after he was awake enough to say goodbye and point out where the tee shirt was. It kind of seems like he lured her there with the whole tee shirt thing, to make a final attempt at some kind of romantic display, then put on this whole act. Very weird, and SHAME on Hulu. I always have hated that platform.

I can't be the only person who thinks that even if he WAS sleepwalking, or even if he had an alcohol-induced blackout, that a person who is capable of committing a brutal murder under these conditions should still be in prison. Why was his phone never gone through in depth to verify his conversation and interactions with Brooke and his other friends the months before. So many questions that should have been asked so many missed opportunities to put more pressure on him during interrogations and in the trial itself. I just can’t believe how they brushed over the whole thing because they “knew” what happened so they didn’t care to dive deeper. And now we’ll probably never know and it’s just such a shame. For me, I drove my car and used 1/4 tank of gas (my parents took my keys at night after we found out) and I would eat a lot in my sleep. I agree with most of this statement, but my son has been a sleepwalker since he was 2. And at 4 we caught him in the kitchen knife drawer trying to stab his leg. And he wouldn’t touch knives when he was awake, and he definitely wasn’t a murderer at 4 or now at 24. Yes I agree it’s mostly memory but nightmares play a big factor in it too. He also has driven in his sleep and woke up almost 100 miles from home lost where we had to go get him. It’s scary shit! It’s slowed down the older he’s gotten but he still has moments from time to time. We have a system now that alerts him multiple times before he can leave his house. At the end of the doc they said they reached out for comment or for filming and the family chose not to accept. This is a public case and all the information was public record so they did everything legally they needed to do. Unfortunately i don’t think the Preston family will have a case since this is a public case under the freedom of information act and no minor are involved.

Or AT THE VERY LEAST warn them that they are doing it with or without their input and with out it, it would be primarily about him. I agree, shame on Hulu!

@@MrsElizHardy they did… hulu and the makers of the doc reach out for comment of for the Preston’s to film and they declined.. it says it at the end of the doc.

I've been binging your videos lately and I have to say that I love what you do for the victims families. Not only with all of the organizations you promote and donate to, but also with the storytelling. You always focus on what happened to the victim, rather than what the killer did. You focus on the the victims life and talk about the life that was lost, rather than the one that ended it. I have so much respect for you.

He was texting her to come get the shirt, then after he did it he drove her car and then called 911. All that doesn't seem possible while sleep walking.... I'm not a psychiatrist, so I can't say for sure it just seems convenient he remembers everything before and after, but not during. So sad. Praying for Brooke and her family and friends.

Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe he actually can't remember though and that's just a traumatic response to what he did. Not sleep walking, just trauma blocking.

True! And if he was “sleep walking” so he doesn’t remember the incident, how does he remember the moments before? I honestly just don’t buy it.

I’ve been a sleepwalker in my past. It didn’t include texting anyone or driving. It was mostly just me being half dressed embarrassingly in places I wouldn’t have like to been.

Brooke seemed like such a remarkable human being. It’s terrible things like this that happen to the best of people. She had a bright future ahead of her. Thank you Kendall for letting the family share stories and the love they had for her. You are amazing. ❤️❤️

I've noticed it's always the BEST people that get murdered. And it's always by some LOSER. It's like they are jealous that everyone likes them. Just move on with your life. You don't gotta be killing people. I feel like she had to have rejected him at some point and boom got his feelings hurt.. instead of being a man and walking away. My opinion though. Glad he is behind bars.

It is too tight of a timeline - and what the hell was he doing naked in her closet? He is where he should be, and I can't believe a documentary was made without the Preston family's consent - Hulu is beyond reproach. I hope Brooke's family can find some peace and start healing. They appear very strong, resilient, and dedicated to keeping her wonderful memory alive.

HULU are NOT 'beyond reproach'. How can you say that when they've made such a disgusting and one sided documentary?

@@Poodlemama1234 I agree, my poor choice of words, Hulu is disgusting, they should reproach themselves- feel shame and regret for what they have done to the Preston family.
