In 2023, the National Museum of Ireland acquired a donation of 40 documents belonging to the Murray family that lived in rural County Sligo. The well-preserved documents span 150 years from the early nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century and give a snapshot of the lives of a typical farming family.
A selection of those documents is now displayed in an online exhibition. The exhibition is complimented by a series of three talks.
Speaker - Noel Campbell is a curator in the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life with responsibility for the Irish Folklife agriculture collection. In this talk, Noel highlights a selection of the Murray documents he has researched and recorded.
