I just wanted to say that I really appreciate this video. I have midterms soon on all of this and the way you define everything was just very easy to memorize.

Fascia is not just muscle to muscle and it's not really connecting anything but it seperates the muscles and or other internal organs into compartments. They are three types of fascia:1. Superficial fascia which is loose areolar and fat adipose tissue. 2. Deep fascia is very condense and is associated with mostly muscle but is also found on nerves 3. Visceral fascia is found on internal organs. The visceral layer of the lungs is called the pleural, for the heart its called paricardia etc It's meant to reduce friction
Important info about muscle contractions: "Muscle contraction is the activation of tension-generating sites within muscle fibers. In physiology, muscle contraction does not necessarily mean muscle shortening because muscle tension can be produced without changes in muscle length such as holding a heavy book or a dumbbell at the same position"(Wikipedia). The different types of muscle contractions are Concentric contractions (shorten) Eccentric contractions (lengthen) Isometric contractions(remain the same). This difference then between extensions and contractions is that extensions are when muscle is being stretched without tension.
I wish this video were downloaded 10 years ago so that I could score more marks in science and I might have become RN or doc. But I got creativity and skills since m an arts student. Proud of it 😇😇😇
WOW !! This helped me out alot !! Im here studying for class, reading the book and looking at the pictures ! I was so close to pulling my hair out hahahaha something told me to search youtube and BAM !! YOUR VIDEO ROCKS !! Keep up the awesome work guys !! Keep them coming !
I have reread the muscles and joints chapter for class and have had some trouble retaining it all, the videos I find quite helpful! There have been other videos you have posted as well that have really helped me in Medical Terminology. Thank you!
Working on my CPT certification with NASM & this video was executed excellently! Great presentation and straight to the point easy to understand explanations. A+++
I'm here for the exact same thing!!! I take my test in a few weeks and I have been struggling with the muscular system for so long. I hope you passed your test!

Dont worry yall here is an whole essay on the muscular system: The muscular system is composed of specialized cells called muscle fibers. Their predominant function is contractibility. Muscles, attached to bones or internal organs and blood vessels, are responsible for movement. Nearly all movement in the body is the result of muscle contraction. Exceptions to this are the action of cilia, the flagellum on sperm cells, and amoeboid movement of some white blood cells. The integrated action of joints, bones, and skeletal muscles produces obvious movements such as walking and running. Skeletal muscles also produce more subtle movements that result in various facial expressions, eye movements, and respiration. In addition to movement, muscle contraction also fulfills some other important functions in the body, such as posture, joint stability, and heat production. Posture, such as sitting and standing, is maintained as a result of muscle contraction. The skeletal muscles are continually making fine adjustments that hold the body in stationary positions. The tendons of many muscles extend over joints and in this way contribute to joint stability. This is particularly evident in the knee and shoulder joints, where muscle tendons are a major factor in stabilizing the joint. Heat production, to maintain body temperature, is an important by-product of muscle metabolism. Nearly 85 percent of the heat produced in the body in the resut of muscle contraction. if you need some more info here are links to useful vids and websites: www.innerbody.com/image/musfov.html training.seer.cancer.gov/anatomy/muscular/#:~:text=The%20muscular%20system%20is%20composed,the%20result%20of%20muscle%20contraction. kidshealth.org/en/kids/muscles.html hopefully this helped🥰😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
+Julie Mak Thanks Julie. We have a whole series on Medical Terminology also that would work great for that. Check it out here. www.cteskills.com/shop/categories/category/health-science-technology/medical-terminology
This is very clear better than my textbook my instructor that are very hard to comprehend. Please make more videos chapter by chapter in biology because this is very helpful for the nursing student that having trouble remembering whats in the txtbook plus some instructors aren't very helpful. Thank you very much.

Remember guys if you're watching this to study for a test, it's not enough to just memorize these words. You have to actually understand what each term means and be comfortable using this type of anatomical language to discuss basic movements. If you don't start using this terminology in your everyday life it means you don't understand it yet
I’m seeing a lot of comments about how this video helped people... that’s awesome if it did, but there is little to no detail about actual muscles in the body as well as the photo used as an example for quadriplegia IS NOT QUADRIPLEGIC..... he’s paraplegic. Quadriplegics cannot use any of their limbs, hence quadri- meaning 4. Paraplegics like the man in the picture only have use of 2 limbs, usually the arms (legs disabled)
This is such a great video! Thank you so much, for making this video. Its too boring to read a book, and there's no summary of it, and no pictures, but, in this video, it helped me a lot, since it had a good summary, so thanks! And, if you just read a book, and it's boring, it will be likely to forget most of it the next day, right?
Dear sir Atrophy is situation which we can also said Wasting of muscle but it can cured by Physical therapy now and some therapy instruments according to my knowledge
This is such a great kid friendly video! I've search a lot of videos and lots of them are made for adults. So far this video, Bill ye the science guy's video about bones and muscles, and another video for kids about the muscular system are more kid friendly. This is fun to watch in a way and it so cool that you told us all of that in 5 minutes and 50 seconds! Great Video! Keep up the great work! ~Whisper The Radio
