The Music perform "Bleed From Within (Live from Liverpool Academy)" from the 2005 DVD release "Welcome to Japan". I do not own any rights to this. For entertainment purposes only.
The more I watch these videos the more I'm convinced that The Music were one of the greatest live acts of all time And this particular performance was one of their all time greatest Had they been around in the 70s or 80s they would have been as big or bigger than Led Zep or U2
Back in time ... when I used to listen ... with my Sony walkman ... had buy batteries a lot in order to keep listening .... Then came diskman .... And this band was broacasted in a local Lima peruvian radio called Double 9 .... They always got the new realeses from US and Uk due to that the owners traveled to get The Best ( THE MUSIC)
I've loved music all my life and I'm 62 now and I don't think I'll ever work out why some bands make it big and some don't. One of the great live bands, I saw them 6 times back in the day and they were always excellent live. So much energy and power.
Very few bands get massive when you think about it , u2 nirvana , oasis , Coldplay, the only really big well known bands of the last 30/40 years .., bands like joy division weren’t well known , lot of people haven’t heard of the smiths , or the verve till urban hymns,, I agree though , first time I saw the music I thought they would be as big as oasis but looking back some of their earlier stuff although amazing wasn’t really gonna be everyone’s cup of tea , walls get smaller and human , the dance went over the average rock fans heads , those were their best songs for me but most people didn’t get it , poor second album that came 2 years after the first and completely changed direction didn’t help but for a couple of years they were something special, I saw them in 2001 way before the album came out .. incredible
@@higherthanthesun-vk8ye Yeah but I don't think these got anywhere near The Smiths or bands similar to them in terms of popularity and The Smiths are up there with my favourites. I think The Music had one top ten hit and a couple in the twenties. When I saw them in Blackpool, The Kings of Leon were the support and later that year when they went to the USA, Kasbian supported them, ironic really. I just put it down to the wrong type of music at that particular time. Same with Exit Calm who should have had more success than they did.
@@rael1999 no doubt the smiths were fairly big probably not the best comparison they were fairly big in America also , I had tickets for the Bridlington spa leg of those gigs , think my mate let me down last min but they were at their peak that period , not the end of the world though I saw them around 10 times from 2001 to 2004 then the strength In numbers tour and finally temple newsman , for me they were really really special those first couple of years then they went a bit of track from what they initially were but that’s just my tastes , I’m into the trippy stuff like human , walls, new instrumental etc , they lost me a lot with freedom fighters breaking , like a different band , still decent though and always great live , I saw exit calm around 5 times .. only band I really followed since the music , lot more depth really and great live but nothing touched the feeling the music gave me around 2002 , was 20 though so played a part , by the time I got into exit calm mid 20s I was a bit jaded by life so lost that excitement from live music . Nickys solo stuff is great
@@higherthanthesun-vk8ye .....I've always loved music, it's been a big part of my life and it's always exciting discovering new talents. My tastes are quite eclectic as long as it's good music. Still go to see live bands, but not as much as I use to because I'll be 65 this year, so yeah that sofa tends to be a little more of a temptation, watching films or gaming. But hey don't let the passing years stop you all together. Happiness is sharing events and trips with your family and friends, even if it's only chewing the fat in the pub. One of the bands I always thought would do well was Marion. Their first album 'This World and Body' was excellent. But the lead singer got hooked on drugs and it brought them down. Phil one of their guitarists went on to play for New Order.
@@rael1999 very little really caught my attention in my youth mate music wise but the stuff that did, I was all in .. The music were the first band I loved that I was old enough to get properly involved in , I think the last gig I went to was exit calm before they split , never been one of these people who’d goes to hundreds of gigs a year, prob been to 30/40 gigs in the last 20 years mostly the music and exit calm , verve in 2007 , foals Albert hall , oasis couple of times , plus festivals but the lineups these days are shocking, my view is there’s nothing proper special out there , some good music but nothing really captivating like nirvana, oasis, the music , loved the vines aswell the more dreamy psychedelic stuff , early 2000s was great really saw the coral a handful of times , black rebel motorcycle club were incredible at reading 2002 .. by jaded I meant the drugs took over and music was less important 👍
@tropicaldan Just so you know I really appreciate all your feedback on these videos. The Music are my favorite band so its nice to know there are other hardcore fans out there who feel the same about their talents. Truly remarkable live band...if only I had gotten into them sooner I could have seen them at least once.
@CodyT3212 I do comiserate with you if you never got to see them live - I only managed to see them at one of their last, at Brixton. I've been going to gigs for many years and this really was one of the best for me. Fantastic band, and this is one of their epic tracks.
