Esprit Marching Band - Grade 3
Here is a marvelously paced closing production on this familiar song from The Phantom of the Opera. Opening with a trumpet solo, Paul's arrangement builds impressively to a climax then tapers to a quiet ending with the distinctively dissonant “phantom” chords.

That is awesome! I wish more schools would show more class with their band song selections....Andrew Lloyd Webber is Class with a capital C....and those 5 killer cords at the end...omg....just simply awesome!

yeah almost everyone at my school that played this agreed that it sounded better on trombone/baritone than on trumpet

Put the speed on 0.75 and it's almost perfect. Really nice either way though

How do these guys do this? I'm trying to pursue a passion of music arrangement but I can't seem to find good software. I'm just stuck with musescore and it doesn't have nearly as good sound as this one. Is there some type of notation software they use?
@mrmyvideos10

BuMdEbUm290 they use a live band
@kevinhambrick2035

For the recordings, they use a live band. I'd say, for free, Musescore is the best option. If you want to spend a little bit of money, I'd say buy Finale Printmusic, it's better than Musescore, but it's not the absolute perfect software. If you want to shell out something that'll sound damn near perfect, get the full version of Finale. Out of the programs I've used (I do both instrumental and electronic music, so I don't just use notation software), which include LMMS, FL Studio, Musescore, Noteflight, Finale Printmusic, Finale Full, and various versions of Sibelius, Finale Full is the BEST software I've used.

Kinda fast and doesnt quite fit for marching band, but as a concert piece I think it would be 10 times better. But hey, as a trumpet, I'm fine either way as long as I could play that solo

The music is lovely, but how can this work as a standout show? Imagine this: Football Players getting tackled...And we hear The Music of the Night sweetly playing in the background?!?
@Necrobatix
@Necrobatix 6 лет назад
No. Just no. As my old band director said, Phantom of the Opera is too slow for marching band and speeding it up won't sound right.

Broken Mirros Masquerade and Phantom of the Opera are perfect for it

@@juleskray, I agree with you! Phantom Of The Opera & Masquerade are both similar pieces!

@@juleskray, Same here! In fact, I would consider "Music Of The Night" a tuning warm up piece for marching band (for woodwinds & brass only). If I were to do a marching band show: Then, I would consider the show in 3 movements: 1. Phantom Of The Opera 2. Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again & 3. Masquerade
