I 100% agree! Ben Crawford was one of the Phantoms that could hit all the right notes! And, I don’t mean just writing and leaving notes all over The Opera Populaire, either!

What I want to know, is why did Phantom close on Broadway entirely. I can understand closing Phantom in New York City, but to close it on Broadway entirely. What is up with that?

@@christinedaae7323 I was reading the comments and say your question. I don’t really understand what your asking. The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway was in the city. So what’s your question?

What I am saying, is why don’t they reopen Phantom in another huge Theatre somewhere else in America? There are several huge Theatres across America that can house a production as elaborate as Phantom!

@@christinedaae7323 They probably wanted to keep it in New York City. We had the tour but I couldn’t compare to the phantom. Plus the Majestic Theater was basically the phantoms theater. They did so many things to it. Rumor is that the Majestic will be renovated for two years and come back with them Phantom playing. I pray that does happen!

I hope and pray that The Phantom of the Opera does come back to Broadway in its entirety really soon!

@stelanmartin7763 I recorded this on March 29, 2023. Ben would only be performing in a couple more shows at this point so it’s one of Ben’s last couple of performances.

I think it was a prop.

Are you sure? If it was indeed a Prop, then, where did it go?

I took a quick look and the prop/person appears still even as they lower the lights to spotlight the phantom at the end…someone else that knows for sure may chime in but the position the prop is in appears very uncomfortable for a human.

I had thought it was a person in music of the night, then later on it’s obviously a prop since phantom takes the dress off it for Christine and yeets the prop across the stage.

Why does The Phantom throw the Mirror Bride prop across the stage? What’s that all about?

This video was taken a little more than 2 weeks before the end of the Broadway run. It was also 2 shows before Ben Crawford could no longer perform as the Phantom because of health issues.
