So glad I got to attend Sundance this year. I had so much fun and met so many great people, definitely running it back next year. Hope to see you there!! (Also you are making me want to rewatch I Saw the Tv Glow)
I’m so glad you had a great time!! I was bummed we couldn’t meet up but i feel like next year we will know the ropes better and can actually schedule time for it
I’m very excited to see a handful of these films when they come out, especially I Saw The TV Glow after your glowing reaction. While I didn’t get to attend in person, I was still able to check out 10 titles and liked a majority of them (my favorite being A Real Pain and Dìdi battling it out for the top spot), with only one I really hated (the lower-tier Renate Reinsve Sundance flick, oof). I’m so glad you got to attend the festival in-person and that you had a blast. Hope to cross paths at SXSW! ✨
My most anticipated form sundance are Your Monster, I Saw the TV Glow, Love Lies Bleeding and Ibelin. I hadn't heard of Ibelin before and as someone who played a lot of world of warcraft this shot to the top of my list.
Dìdi is my favorite that I watch on Sundance online and I had a huge flashback to my past while watching the film. I mean I wrote an in depth review on letterboxd lol. Awesome vid Sydney! Up next is SXSW! Can't wait to see you again and watch a ton of movies. It's gonna be a blast. Also, we are close to Dune: Part 2!!!
Heard😂 think I’m actually finding a way to balance RU-vid and TikTok, but weekly reviews on here is the goal for sure!! Rankings might be short form for a bit, unless i have extra time, but if so will try to get them short enough to go on RU-vid shorts. Appreciate you!!
So jealous you got to go. I was stuck home watching the online screenings. Waiting so hard to see 'I Saw the T.V. Glow'.. 'Thelma' and 'A Real Pain' were my favs online. You are a superstar Syd, keep up the great work. '
Great list, thank you! Sundance is the Mecca for me and I hope I'll get to go someday. I usually just go to the SIFF (Seattle Int'l Film Festival). Was already planning on watching Love Lies Bleeding and Hit Man but now I have others to look forward to!
I feel so greedy saying this but I'm most looking forward to seeing I Saw the TV Glow and Ghostlight again. Especially since I haven't stopped thinking about the former since I saw it. Other than those two it's probably Ibelin and Hitman for me!
"Exhibiting Forgiveness" and "Suncoast" were incredible. Saw them on the Sundance app at home (first time I've ever used that). "In the Summers" was also pretty good but not great. 3 stars.
I am so excited for I saw the TV Glow, especially after your and Esther's reviews! I'm also excited BECAUSE it's so divisive, I have seen some trans folx say people are crazy to call it a trans film. I've been stalking my local theaters waiting for it to come out hahaha
Omg! That’s very interesting since Schoenbrun has talked about it as such, but it’s obviously a film that is able to be interpreted in so many ways. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!!
Hiii Sydney... I m sure u enjoyed ur journey... N i wish u enjoy more in ur future.. ... But i have been waiting for a movie review.... Sardar udham... For more than... 4 months... N i think.. 4 months is enough for a movie.... So this is my 2nd last comment... My next comment will be my last comment....
Genuinely none of these look interesting. The progressive and pretentious nature of Sundance and all of these titles is just eye rolling. I could name 5 to 10 movies not screened at Sundance and releasing in 2024 that look infinitely more interesting and entertaining than what was mentioned here. Very peculiar tastes here, but to each their own. If these are the type of movies being screened at Sundance then I can't ever see myself making the trip there 💀
